This paper proposes a method taking advantage of Fog computing and SDN in the connected vehicle environment which is having an unstable communication channel and a dynamic topology. For this purpose, the controller should understand the current state of the overall network by maintaining recent network topology, especially, the mobility information of mobile nodes. These are managed by the controller, and are important in unstable conditions in the mobile environment. The mobility levels are divided into 3 categories. We can efficiently exploit that information. By utilizing network state information, we suggest two outcomes. First, we reduce the control message overhead by adjusting the period of beacon messages. Second, we propose a recovery process to prepare the communication failure. We can efficiently recover connection failure through mobility information. Furthermore, we suggest a path recovery by decoupling the cloud level and the fog level in accordance with application data types. The simulation results show that the control message overhead and the connection failure time are decreased by approximately 55% and 5%, respectively in comparison to the existing method.
Introduction: The aim of the current study was to describe the prevalence and treatment of mandibular first molar eruption disturbances. Methods: A total of 38 mandibular first molars(M1mn) from 36 patients(17 males and 19 females; aged 9 years 2 months?35 years 10 months) were identified from the 13,391 patients that received orthodontic treatment from 1983?2012. The subjects were classified into 3 categories based on panoramic radiographic examination: impaction due to ectopic position of the tooth germ relative to the contra-side same tooth(Group 1), impaction due to obstruction of the eruption path with cyst or calcium mass (Group 2), and primary and secondary retention due to defects in the follicle or periodontal ligament(PDL; Group 3). The treatment outcomes were evaluated into four categories: no treatment(A), orthodontic traction(B), autotransplantation(C), and extraction due to orthodontic traction failure(D). Results: The prevalence rate of M1mn eruption disturbances in this sample was 0.27%. In Groups 1 and 2, most of the impacted M1mn were erupted successfully by orthodontic traction. In Group 3, most of the retained M1mn were failed to erupt and recommended for extraction. Conclusions: Treatment prognosis was favorable on Group 1 & 2 than Group 3. After removing an element of the cause in case of Group 1 & 2, orthodontic traction or periodic observation will be recommended.

In this study, we investigated the influences of students' motivational characteristics on the processes of learning density concept using a discrepant event. The participants were 642 seventh graders from two middle schools. Tests of failure tolerance, self-efficacy and mastery/performance goal orientation were administered as pretests. A preconception test was also administered. The intervention was the students' individual study of the density concept with a worksheet that was designed to incorporate the major steps of conceptual change learning. The tests of attention, effort and conceptual understanding were administered as post-tests. The responses of 203 students who had been found to possess the target misconception were analyzed. The results of a path analysis revealed that students' motivational characteristics variables did not influence cognitive conflict. Failure tolerance and mastery goal orientation, however, influenced conceptual understanding via situational interest, attention and effort. Self-efficacy influenced conceptual understanding via effort. Performance goal orientation negatively influenced conceptual understanding via attention and effort. Cognitive conflict influenced conceptual understanding directly as well as indirectly via situational interest.

Floor inertial forces are transferred to lateral force resisting systems through a diaphragm action during earthquakes. The diaphragm action requires floor slabs to carry in-plane forces. In precast concrete diaphragms, these forces must be carried across the joints between precast floor units as they represent planes of weakness. Therefore, diaphragm reinforcement with sufficient strength and deformability is necessary to ensure the diaphragm action for the floor inertial force transfer. In a shake table test for a three-story precast concrete structure, an unexpected local failure in the diaphragm flexural reinforcement occurred. This failure caused loss of the diaphragm action but did not trigger collapse of the structure due to a possible alternative path for the floor inertial force transfer. This paper investigates this failure event and its impact on structural seismic responses based on the shake table test and simulation results. The simulations were conducted on a structural model with discrete diaphragm elements. The structural model was also validated from the test results. The investigation indicates that additional floor inertial force will be transferred into the gravity columns after loss of the diaphragm action which can further result in the increase of seismic demands in the gravity column and diaphragms in adjacent floors.
The soil response calculation is described, by which, threw the fictive path of stress, the stress-deformation diagrams are determined, considering the nonlinear soil behavior. The calculation are lead incrementally, by which is shown that in the presented soil model (modified Cam Clay), considering the influence of overconsolidated soil pressure OCR, the number of calculation steps may, but not necessarily, have a sufficient influence on the value of failure load and definite soil deformation. The simplicity and the practicalness of the procedure, the enables modeling the complex relations in soil.

The fault-tolerance routing problem is one of the most important issues in the application of the Internet of Things, and has been attracting growing research interests. In order to maintain the communication paths from source sensors to the macronodes, we present a hybrid routing scheme and model, in which alternate paths are created once the previous routing is broken. Then, we propose an improved efficient and intelligent fault-tolerance algorithm (IEIFTA) to provide the fast routing recovery and reconstruct the network topology for path failure in the Internet of Things. In the IEIFTA, mutation direction of the particle is determined by multi-swarm evolution equation, and its diversity is improved by the immune mechanism, which can improve the ability of global search and improve the converging rate of the algorithm. The simulation results indicate that the IEIFTA-based fault-tolerance algorithm outperforms the EARQ algorithm and the SPSOA algorithm due to its ability of fast routing recovery mechanism and prolonging the lifetime of the Internet of Things.

Since experimental evaluation of underground RC structures considering interaction with surrounding soil medium is quite difficult to be simulated, the evaluation for the underground RC structures using an analytical method can be applied very usefully. For underground structures interacted with surrounding soils, it is important to consider path-dependent RC constitutive model, soil constitutive model, and interface model between structure and soil, simultaneously. In this paper, an elastoplastic interface model which consider thickness of interface is proposed and applied for the analysis considering the interaction. Failure mechanism of underground RC box of two story and two box subway station under seismic action is obtained and the effects of ductility of intermediate column to entire underground RC system are investigated through analysis.

The vertical roller mill is the important machine grinding and mixing various crude materials in the manufacturing process of portland cement. Table liner is one of grinding elements of vertical roller mill and is subjected to the cyclic bending stress by rollers and the centrifugal force by rotation of table. It demands $4{\times}10^7$ expense of life but has $4{\times}10^6~-8{\times}10^6$ cycle. It fractures at the edge of grinding path of outside roller The repair expense fur it amounts to 30% of total maintenance of vertical roller mill. Therefore, this study shows the fracture mechanism of table liner of vertical roller mill using HDM and fatigue analysis
Exposed-type steel column bases are used widely in low-rise building construction. Numerous researchers have examined methods to identify their stiffness and strength, but those studies have heretofore been restricted to in-plane behaviors. This paper presents an experimental investigation of inelastic behaviors of square hollow section (SHS) steel column bases under biaxial bending. Two types of failure modes are considered : anchor bolt yielding and base plate yielding. Different pinching effects and interaction surfaces for biaxial bending are observed for these two modes during bi-directional quasi-static cyclic loading tests. Differences are elucidated using limit analyses based on a simple analytical model.

This paper takes aim at the reliability evaluation by application of Fault Tree Analysis and its computerization. FTA is one of the methods for evaluation of system reliability and safety analysis. The important characteristic of this paper is that computer program is written in the package program(dBaseIII+) by 16Bit/AT personal computer. The program consists of three program segments. (1) The minimal cut sets of the system fault tree are obtained by means of "Fault tree reduction algorithm" (2) The minimal path sets are obtained by inversion of the minimal cut sets determined from fault tree (3) The importance of the basic events which are presented in the minimal cut sets is obtained by means of structural importance analysis. In this paper, a Fault Tree Analysis is applied to a BAG FILTER which is a kind of dust collector.collector.
