A Study on the Analytico-Synthetic Classification (분석적 합성식 문헌분류법에 관한 연구)

  • The first part of this article investigates the general characteristics and the advantages and disadvantages of the analytico-synthetic classification over the enumerative one. The second part analyzes the general steps and related problems in compiling an analytico-synthetic scheme, and investigates the steps further including facet analysis , choosing order in main classes, citation order and order in array : and adding notations, through an illustrative scheme for a matrimonial agency's records.

  • Contact and frictional locking conditions and the effect of shielding due to contact at the facet, which could be represented by the difference in energy release rate, as a function of phase angle of loading are analyzed in this study for the case of interfacial cracks by assuming single crack-kink model. The analysis of contact effects on interfacial fracture resistance shows that relative shielding increases as the shear component was increased, which indicates a qualitative agreement with the previous experimental results.

  • Tween refers 'between' generation aged of 10-16 who are between child and high teens. Tweens have been regarded as one of the fast growing markets and they show some unique characteristics as next-generation consumers. This study has explored the perception of their appearances and clothing styles, style preferences, and influencing factors on clothing behavior of tweens. 120 students aged of 12-15 participated in depth interview and data were structured and categorized by applying domain analysis. Results showed tweens have great concerns on their appearances and styles, so they want to express their identities and aesthetic favors through clothing styles. As for clothing style preferences, they have multi-facet tastes such as casual, active, feminine/ masculine, sophisticated, dramatic, etc. Factors influencing on their clothing behavior include reference groups like friends, dual desires of conformity and individuality, fashion, and brand names.

A Study on Influence of the Impact Direction on the Neck Injury during Low Speed Rear Impacts (저속 추돌시 충돌방향에 따른 목상해 해석)

  • MADYMO human model with the detail neck was used to investigate the reaction force of neck and neck injury from rear impact directions. In the validation simulation, head acceleration, thorax acceleration and the global kinematics of the head and neck were correlated well with experimental data. Acceleration data from three 15 km/h low speed car rear impact pendulum tests(rear-end, offset, oblique) were used to simulate the model. In the simulation results, the reaction force on the facet joint and discs in the oblique rear impact were higher than rear-end, offset rear impacts. Further research is still needed in order to neck injury analysis about different crash parameters.

  • We derive the analytic equations for the transmission gain spectrum of a phase shift controlled (PSC) DFB filters with complexed coupled gratings considering both facet reflections and the phase of gratings using the transfer matrix method. The number of parameters of the equations is reduced by using the parameter of effective phase shift defined by the sum of the phase shift in a PSC region the effect of both facets reflections and the effective phase shift on the transmission gain spectrum and verify the validity of those equations from the computer simulation results. Computer simulation results show the PSC DFB filter with a pure index coupled grating has the widest tunable range and that with a pure gain grating has the largest side mode suppression ratio.

  • It is observed that the mode spacing of an cxternal cavity semiconducror laser can be altered dramatically by the insertion of an intracavity etalon. 111e mode spacing is decreased as a function of etalon's reflectivity and this effect is quantitatively explained by an analysis of resonant modes. We abo show that this effect provides a precise and convenient alternative for determining the coating reflectivity of a high reflectivity etalon. talon.

  • In order to suppress lasing oscillation and obtain high light power, We have proposed a novel SLD which is formed with a straight and tilted waveguide. The window region is used to suppress lasing oscillation and reduce the facet reflectivity. High power and low reflectivity is obtained by the straight and tilted waveguide. Based on the theoretical analysis, we have fabricated the SLD with the waveguide of 500 $\mu$m length and window region of 50 $\mu$m by LPE equipment. Through the measurements of optical characteristics, the output light power of 3 mW was obtained at the 150 mA CW injection current and 25$^{circ}C$. We have confirmed that the proposed SLD has a 0.8 dB spectrum ripple lower than 1 dB which is sufficiently low reflectivity for preventing lasing.

  • The present study deals design and manufacture of automatic polishing machine that can cut diamond to have 58 facets in a brilliant cutting which has been hardly achieved by a conventional manually operating polishing machine. Upon the 3-dimensional Sarin M/C test and analysis on the diamond processed by the automatic polishing machine developed in this study its proportion and finishing turned out to be better than the diamond processed by the conventional method, by being rated as 'very good'.

  • Retrospective analysis, of 1,734 patients treated for nerve block from October 1991 to March 1994. Largest percentage of patients were in the 50 year old range, with a distribution of 44.9% male and 55.1% female. Treatments were for ailments of: Low Back Pain 17.3%, Multiple Contusion 10.5%, and Cancer 10%. Most common nerve block was epidural block 38.6%, followed by stellate ganglion block 38.4%, intercostal block 5.4%, and suprascapular nerve block 5.2%. Nerve block under fluorscopic guide were as follows: facet joint block 34.1%, lumbar sympathetic ganglion block 13.6%, and celiac plexus block 12.9%.
