극치값 추정에 적합한 비매개변수적 핵함수 개발 (A Development of Noparamtric Kernel Function Suitable for Extreme Value)

  • 비매개변수적 빈도해석을 위해 제시되는 핵밀도함수 방법에서 내삽법은 외삽법보다 더 신뢰적이기 때문에 내삽법과 관련된 광역폭의 선택이 외삽 문제와 연관되는 핵함수의 선택보다 중요하다. 그러나, 재현기간이 자료구간보다 커지거나 또는 $200{\sim}500$년 빈도 발생과 같은 확률 값에 대한 추정을 하는 경우는 자료의 외삽이 중요한 문제이며 따라서 이에 따른 핵함수의 선택도 중요시된다. 핵함수에 따라서는 외삽에 대해 상대적으로 작거나 큰 값이 제시 될 수 있으므로 극치값 추정에는 어려운 점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 일반적으로 내삽 및 외삽에도 적합한 핵함수로 Modified Cauchy 핵함수를 제시하였다.

무접합 이중 게이트 MOSFET에서 문턱전압 추출 (Extraction of Threshold Voltage for Junctionless Double Gate MOSFET)

  • In this study, we compared the threshold-voltage extraction methods of accumulation-type JLDG (junctionless double-gate) MOSFETs (metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors). Threshold voltage is the most basic element of transistor design; therefore, accurate threshold-voltage extraction is the most important factor in integrated-circuit design. For this purpose, analytical potential distributions were obtained and diffusion-drift current equations for these potential distributions were used. There are the ${\phi}_{min}$ method, based on the physical concept; the linear extrapolation method; and the second and third derivative method from the $I_d-V_g$ relation. We observed that the threshold-voltages extracted using the maximum value of TD (third derivatives) and the ${\phi}_{min}$ method were the most reasonable in JLDG MOSFETs. In the case of 20 nm channel length or more, similar results were obtained for other methods, except for the linear extrapolation method. However, when the channel length is below 20 nm, only the ${\phi}_{min}$ method and the TD method reflected the short-channel effect.

  • 본 논문에서는 시간제한신호에 있어서 종래의 반복외삽법의 전 과정을 단일한 연산으로 나타낼 수 있는 외삽행렬을 이용한 신호재생방법에 관한 알고리즘을 고안하고 또한 컴퓨터를 이용한 모의실험을 통하여 제안된 알고리즘을 초음파 진단장치에 적용, 정확성과 고속적인 측면에서 그 효용성을 입증하였다.

확률생태위해성평가(PERA) 선진국 사례분석 및 국내수계에 적합한 PERA 기법 제안 (Comparative Study of Probabilistic Ecological Risk Assessment (PERA) used in Developed Countries and Proposed PERA approach for Korean Water Environment)

  • Probabilistic Ecological risk assessment (PERA) is extensive approach to qualify and quantify risk on the multi species based on species sensitivity distribution (SSD). As a while, deterministic ecological risk assessment (DERA) considers the comparison of predicted no-effect concentration (PNEC) and predicted exposure concentration (PEC). DERA is used to determine if there is potential risk or no risk, and it doesn't consider the nature variability and the species sensitivity. But PERA can be more realistic and reasonable approach to estimate likelihood or risk. In this study, we compared PERA used in developed countries, and proposed PERA applicable for the Korean water environment. Taxonomic groups were classified as "class" level including Actinopterygill, Branchiopoda, Chlorophyceae, Maxillapoda, Insects, Bivalvia, Gastropoda, Secernentea, Polychaeta, Monocotyldoneae, and Chanophyceae in this study. Statistical extrapolation method (SEM), statistical extrapolation method $_{acutechronicratio}$ ($SEM_{ACR}$) and assessment factor method (AFM) were used to calculate the ecological protective concentration based on qualitative and quantitative levels of taxonomic toxicity data. This study would be useful to establish the PERA for the protection of aquatic ecosystem in Korea.

ω-κ 알고리즘을 이용한 SAR 영상의 방위각 방향 외삽 기법 연구 (A Study on the Azimuth Direction Extrapolation for SAR Image Using ω-κ Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 고해상도 SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) 영상 획득을 위해 방위각 방향 해상도를 향상시키기 위한 방법을 소개하였다. SAR 영상 획득을 위해 ${\omega}-k$(omega-k) 알고리즘을 이용하였으며, 2차원 주파수 영역에서 방위각 방향으로 AR(Auto-Regressive) 방법을 이용한 외삽을 이용하여 해상도를 향상시켰다. AR 방법은 선형 예측(linear prediction) 모델을 기반으로 한 외삽 기법이다. AR 방법을 이용한 외삽 기법 중에서 Burg 알고리즘을 이용하여 예측 차수(prediction order)와 표적의 거리에 따른 성능 비교 결과를 보여 준다.

가림이 있는 얼굴 영상의 나이 인식 연구 (A study of age estimation from occluded images)

  • 얼굴 영상에서 나이를 인식하는 기술은 여러 응용분야에서 활용되면서 그에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 다양한 환경에서 촬영된 얼굴 영상은 얼굴의 일부가 가려지는 경우가 많으며 이는 나이 인식 성능에 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가림이 있는 얼굴 영상의 나이 인식 성능을 개선하기 위해, Image Extrapolation 기술을 이용하여 가려진 부분을 생성하여 나이를 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 영상에서의 가림이 나이 인식 성능에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해서 마스크 이미지를 적용하여 가림이 있는 얼굴 영상을 생성하였다. 가림에 의해 나이 인식 성능이 저하되는 문제를 해결하기 위해, Image Extrapolation 기술 중 영상의 가장자리를 순회하면서 가려진 부분을 생성하는 SpiralNet 을 사용하여 가려진 부분을 예측하여 생성하고 얼굴 나이 인식에 사용하였다. 실험을 통해 가림이 있는 영상에서 나이 인식 성능이 저하되는 문제가 있고, SpiralNet으로 가림 부분을 생성한 영상으로 나이를 인식하면 나이 인식 성능이 개선되는 것을 확인하였다.

Stress concentration factors test of reinforced concrete-filled tubular Y-joints under in-plane bending

  • To study the stress concentration factors (SCFs) of concrete-filled tubular Y-joints subject to in-plane bending, experiments were used to investigate the hot spot stress distribution along the intersection between chord and brace. Three concrete-filled tubular chords forming Y-joints were tested with different reinforcing components, including doubler-plate, sleeve, and haunch-plate reinforcement. In addition, an unreinforced joint was also tested for comparison. Test results indicate that the three different forms of reinforcement effectively reduce the peak SCFs compared with the unreinforced joint. The current research suggests that the linear extrapolation method can be used for chords, whereas the quadratic extrapolation method must be used for braces. The SCF is effectively reduced and more evenly distributed when the value of the axial compression ratio in the chord is increased. Furthermore, the SCFs obtained from the test results were compared to predictions from some well-established SCF equations. Generally, the predictions from those equations are very consistent for braces, but very conservative for concrete-filled chords.

  • Corrosion of reinforced concrete embedded in concrete is a deterioration phenomenon due to intrusion of embodied or Airborne chloride ions. Corrosion of a embedded steel increases the volume of the rebar and causes damage to the structure such as cracking and peeling of the concrete. This causes penetration of various corrosive factors and accelerates the corrosion of reinforcing bars, which has a serious effect on the durability of the structure. Researches on the corrosion phenomenon of these rebars by electrochemical methods have been carried out for a long time, but it is a lack of research in Korea. Therefore, in this study, one of electrochemical experimental methods, Tafel extrapolation method, was used to evaluate the performance of reinforcing bars according to the amount of NaCl and LiNO2 added to concrete.

Whole Frame Error Concealment with an Adaptive PU-based Motion Vector Extrapolation for HEVC

  • Most video services are transmitted in wireless networks. In a network environment, a packet of video is likely to be lost during transmission. For this reason, numerous error concealment (EC) algorithms have been proposed to combat channel errors. On the other hand, most existing algorithms cannot conceal the whole missing frame effectively. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes a new Adaptive Prediction Unit-based Motion Vector Extrapolation (APMVE) algorithm to restore the entire missing frame encoded by High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). In each missing HEVC frame, it uses the prediction unit (PU) information of the previous frame to adaptively decide the size of a basic unit for error concealment and to provide a more accurate estimation for the motion vector in that basic unit than can be achieved by any other conventional method. The simulation results showed that it is highly effective and significantly outperforms other existing frame recovery methods in terms of both objective and subjective quality.

칼만필터를 사용하는 INS/GPS 결합시스템에서 측정치 지연에 의한 오차 분석 및 보상 (Error Analysis and Compensation of Measurement Delay in INS/GPS Integrated Systems with Kalman Filtering)

  • In this paper, the error caused by the measurement delay in INS/GPS integrated systems with Kalman filtering is defined and analyzed through the analytical method and the simulation. It is proved that the error of measurement delay causes not only the position error but also the estimate error of the x-axis accelerometer bias when a vehicle turns. And the estimation method of the delay time and the compensation method using an extrapolation method are presented. The performance of the compensation method is shown by the analytic method and the simulation.
