According to damage of papers by the chemical cause, papers become to acidify. Among the 3 kinds of method measuring the acidity of paper, one was nondestructive method measuring the surface of the paper by flat type electrode and the others were destructive methods measuring directly by cold water extract method and hot water extract method. In case of the cellulolytic cultural properties, the latter methods were not applied because those methods must bedissociated papers. To measure the paper acidity nondestructively, we investigated the correlation of the nondestructive method and the destructive methods. The conclusions are as follows. 1) In the relationship of the cold water extract method and the hot water extract method, It was indicated that the pH measured by the hot water extract method was high quality printing paper 0.08, rough printing paper 0.13, and Korean paper 0.29 higher than that by the cold water extract method.2) In the relationship of the cold water extract method and the surface measurement method, It showed that the pH value measured by the cold water extract method was high quality printing paper 1.86, rough printing paper 0.80,and Korean paper 0.58 higher than value that by the surface measurement.3) In the relationship of the hot water extract method and the surface measurement method, It showed that the pH value measured by the hot ABSTRACT water extract method was high quality printing paper 1.78, rough printing paper 0.66, and Korean paper 0.29 higher than that by the surface measurement. From the above-mentioned results, the pH value measured by the surface measurement was need to high about 1.78∼1.86 in high quality printing paper, 0.66-0.80 in rough printing paper, and 0.29∼0.58 in Korean paper and the surface measurement with flat type electrode was very available to measure the acidity of Korean papers actually.

We implemented the Moxa-Extract Moxibustion Method in order to improve the conventional moxibustion therapy. This method is aimed to eliminate burning wounds and smoke, which are the defects of conventional moxibustion therapy. And we performed to verify the efficiency by comparing the Moxa-Extract Moxibustion Method with the conventional Indirect Moxibustion Method. We measured the body heat and the lasting time of blood circulation improvement using thermography. Methods : The moxibustion therapy has two kinds of effects: The formers are pharmacological effects of the Moxa's vasodilators and antioxidants. The latters are thermal effects which cause improvement of the blood circulation. To remove the demerits without omission of above therapeutic effects, we extracted the vasodilators and antioxidant compounds from the Moxa-CH2Cl2 fraction Moxa-EtOA and composed the moxibustion kit with (Ba0.8 Sr0.2)0.996 Y0.004 TiO2 + 0.5WT SiO2% positive Temperature Coefficients Thermistor. The experimental demonstrations have been made by the stimulating the spot which is CV4(Kwan-Won), CV8(Shin-Guel), CV12(Jung-Wan) acupuncture points of the conception vessel meridian(CV). And stimulating time was one hour. We divided the subjects into 5 groups such as no stimulation group, conventional Indirect Moxibustion group, only Moxa-Extract stimulation group, only heat stimulation group, and Moxa-Extract Moxibustion group. In the different cases, we have measured the body heat in pre-stimulation, just after stimulation, 2 hours after, and 4 hours after. Results : he body heats of the group who were stimulated by the Moxa-Extract Moxibustion method were increased by over the $2^{\circ}C$. And the body heats of the group who were stimulated by the Indirect Moxibustion Method were increased by average the $1^{\circ}C$. We have evaluated that the Moxa-Extract Moxibustion Method is improvement on the Indirect Moxibustion Method by the increasing rate is 200% and increasing time is 150% with the body heat of the abdominal region. Conclusion : We have implemented the Moxa-Extract Moxibustion Method and evaluated the efficiency of the Moxa-Extract Moxibustion Method comparing with the Indirect Moxibustion Method.

In order to explore the anti-oxidization effect of oriental medicine and cereal medium(OCM) where Tricholoma matsutake mycelia were cultured, measurement of hot water extract and UMPM(extraction method using ultra sonic waves, micro waves, micro bubble) extract, the total polyphenol content of crude polysaccharide from each extract, SOD-like activity, electron donating ability(EDA), xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity, and tyrosinase inhibitory activity was conducted. The total polyphenol content of each extract was found to be 16.36% for hot water extract(HE) group and 15.73% for UMPM extract(UE) group and the amount of crude polysaccharide precipitated into ethanol of extracts was found to be 8.79% for UMPM ethanol extract(UEE) group and 6.48% for hot water ethanol extract(HEE) group. As a result of measurement of SOD-like activity by concentration of each extract, it was found to be 96.17% for UE group, 91.23% for HE group, 91.33% for UEE group, and 87.11% for HEE group at 20 mg/mL. In the case of EDA, it was found to be 47.55% for UE group, 44.93% for HE group, 25.38% for UEE group, and 18.36% for HEE group. And in the cases of the rates of xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity and tyrosinase inhibitory activity, as the concentration of each extract increased, the inhibition rate increased accordingly. As a result of comparison between hot water extract method and UMPM extract method using extracts obtained from oriental medicine compound medium where Tricholoma matsutake mycelia were cultured, all of the extracts were judged to have a high anti-oxidization effect. In particular, UMPM extracts were found to have higher polyphenol content, SOD-like activity, EDA, xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity and tyrosinase inhibitory activity compared to hot water extract method. In this regard, extracts obtained from OCM where Tricholoma matsutake mycelia were cultured are considered to have high availability as functional material when and if they are prepared using UMPM extract method.
In order to select the optimum drying method for the production of cinnamon extract, water extract and 70% ethanol extract of cinnamon were prepared. And then several drying method of oven drying, vacuum evaporation, spray drying and freeze drying were performed. Content of cinnamic acid, cinnamic aldehyde, eugenol, tannin and free sugar, and antioxidant activity, degree of browning, pH, color value, turbity and solubility were compared. In water extract, contents of cinnamic acid, cinnamic aldehyde, eugenol were 29.45mg/100g, 94.86mg/100g, 120.75mg/100g and decreased to 4.76%∼44.21%, 5.30%∼48.05%, 3.66%∼21.83% by oven dyring, vaccum drying, spray drying respectively, but freeze drying showed a little decrease of those components. In 70% ethanol extract, effectual components decreased to 76.05%∼88.38% and 26.86%∼78.76% by freeze drying and vacuum evaporation respectively. Antioxidant activity decreased by drying and decreasing rate in 70% ethanol extract was lower than water extract. Degree of browning increased as the drying temperature increased. Tannin and free sugars were little affected by drying temperature. Solubility decreased in oven drying and 70% ethanol extract. Overall data suggested that optimum drying methods of cinnamon extract were freeze drying in case of water extract and freeze drying and vaccum drying in case of 70% ethanol extract.

This study investigated the color change, enhancement of dye uptake, washing fastness, and light fastness of cotton and silk when dyed with Juniperus chinensis and Terminalia chebula (combination dyeing) using various methods. The dyeing methods were 1) dyeing Juniperus chinensis extract and Terminalia chebula Retzius extract sequentially (J-T), 2) dyeing Terminalia chebula Retzius extract and Juniperus chinensis extract sequentially (T-J), 3) dyeing Juniperus chinensis extract and Terminalia chebula Retzius extract simultaneously (J+T), and 4) dyeing Juniperus chinensis extract 4 times repeatedly and followed by a dyeing Terminalia chebula Retzius extract in sequence. In terms of increased dyeing uptake, combination dyeing (dyeing 2 times like method 1, 2, 3) had the same impact as the repeated dyeing (method 4). The color of J, T combination dyeing showed wide range of mixed YR series, Y series resulting from Terminalia chebula Retzius, and R series resulting from Juniperus chinensis. In cotton, J-T dyeing method showed superior enhancement of dye uptake, and T-J method in silk. In both of the cases, Y series color from Terminalia chebula Retzius extract was mainly shown (Y series color was superior to R series color after dyeing). Therefore, it is recommended for cotton to implement T-J method and for silk to implement J-T method in order to enhance both dyeing uptake and emphasize the color of R series. The K/S value of combination dyed fabrics was decreased by increasing washing time; however, the K/S value of combination dyed fabrics was increased by increasing UV irradiation time. But after repeated washing and longer UV irradiation, ${\Delta}E$ value of combination dyed fabric became smaller compared to fabric dyed with Juniperus chinensis only. Thus, it was found that after J, T combination dyeing, fabric became less prone to fading by washing and UV than after Juniperus chinensis single dyeing was done.

In the present study, dikamali resin (obtained from the leaf buds and the young shoots of Gardenia gummifera Linn.) was extracted with diethyl ether and the extract was vacuum dried. Qualitative tests confirmed the presence of flavonoids and free phenolic compounds in the extract. The antioxidant property (qualitative) of the extract was performed by TLC method $({\beta}-carotene-linoleate method)$. The $LD_{50}$ of the extract was found to be 2227 mg/kg by Karber's arithmetic method. The extract was screened for analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg) and anthelmintic (0.1,0.2 and 0.5%w/v) activities by standard methods. The extract exhibited antioxidant property and prevented oxidation of ${\beta}-carotene$. The extract exhibited significant graded dose response for analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and anthelmintic activities. The extract caused the death of earthworms in all experimental concentration whereas the standard drug (piperazine) only effected paralysis. The present study proved the claims of dikamali resin mentioned in the Indian system of medicine.

In this study, we shortly introduced the HPLC method validation guideline for the analysis of functional food which was released from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea in Dec 2018. The HPLC method validation was performed through the aforementioned HPLC method validation guideline in order to quantitate scopoletin content from the hot-water extract powder of Artemisia annua Linné. The HPLC method was validated by evaluating specificity, accuracy, precision, limit of quantitation and linearity. All parameters were in the suitable ranges which are designated in the guideline, which indicated the current HPLC method is reliable to quantitate the scopoletin content from the hot-water extract of A. annua.
