부모의 감독정도와 청소년의 자기통제력이 청소년의 문제행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Parental Monitoring and Adolescents' Self-Control on Adolescents' Problem Behavior)

  • The purposes of this study were to show general trends in the degree of parental monitoring, self-control and problem behavior perceived by adolescents and to examine possible changes in such trends in accordance with gender of adolescents and mother's employment, and then to determine the effects of these variables on adolescents' problem behavior. The subjects were 1288 adolescents of middle school in Busan (male 661, female 627). The main results were as follow. (1) General trends in the degree of internalizing problems and total behavior problems showed that girls had more problem behaviors than boys. (2) Boys and girls with unemployed mother perceived more parental monitoring than ones with employed mothers. Boys with unemployed mother had more self-control than ones with employed mothers. Boys with employed mother showed more problem hehaviors than ones with unemployed mother. (3) Mother's employment, the degree of parental monitoring and self-control had a significant indirect effect on internalizing problems, externalizing problems and total behavior problems. (4) The degree of self-control was the most powerful predicator of problem behaviors of middle school students.

실제 경제수준과 지각된 경제수준 간 차이에 따른 어머니의 정신건강, 양육행동 및 유아의 문제행동 비교 (The Objective and Perceived Level of Economy and Its Relationship with Mother's Mental Health, Parenting Behaviors, and Problem Behaviors in Preschoolers)

  • 본 연구는 경제적 수준에 대한 어머니의 지각이 어머니의 정신건강, 양육행동 및 유아의 문제행동과 어떤 관계를 갖는지 살펴보고자, 만 3세에서 5세 유아 238명의 어머니와 교사들을 대상으로 수행되었다. 실제 경제수준은 해당연도 보육비 지원정책에 따른 보육비 지원 정도를 기준으로 하였고, 어머니가 지각하는 경제수준, 정신건강(우울/불안) 및 양육행동에 관한 자료는 설문조사를 통해 수집되었으며, 자녀의 문제행동 자료는 어머니와 교사로부터 수집되었다. 실제 경제수준과 지각된 경제수준의 상/하에 따라 네 개의 집단으로 구분하고, 집단 간 어머니의 정신건강, 양육행동 및 유아의 문제 행동에 차이가 있는지 살펴보기 위해 일원변량분석과 사후분석을 실시하였다. 네 개의 집단은 실제와 지각된 경제수준이 모두 높을 경우 '일치고(高)', 둘 다 낮을 경우 '일치저(低)', 실제 경제수준은 높지만 지각된 경제수준은 낮은 경우 '지각저(低)', 마지막으로 실제 경제수준은 낮지만 지각된 경제수준은 높은 경우 '지각고(高)' 집단으로 나뉘었다. 주요 결과로는, 어머니의 우울과 불안에 있어서 일치고(高)와 지각고(高) 집단이 일치저(低)와 지각저(低) 집단보다 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 어머니의 양육행동 중 온정적 양육에 있어서는 일치고(高) 집단이 일치저(저(低)) 집단보다 양호한 것으로 나타났고, 적대적 양육에 있어서는 일치저(低)와 지각저(低) 집단이 일치고(高)와 지각고(高) 집단보다 높은 경향성을 보였다. 유아의 문제행동 증 어머니가 평가한 내재화 문제의 경우 일치고(高)와 지각고(高) 집단이 지각저(低) 집단보다 양호한 것으로 나타났고, 외현화 문제에서는 일치고(高) 집단이 지각저(低) 집단보다 양호한 수준을 나타냈다. 이와 대조적으로 교사가 평가한 문제행동의 경우 내재화와 외현화 모두 집단간 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았고, 외현화 문제에서 일치저(低) 집단이 지각고(高) 집단보다 양호한 것으로 나타났다.

모-자녀 기질 적합성과 자녀의 문제행동간의 관련성 연구 (Studies on Relations between Goodness of Fit in Mother-children Temperament Interaction and Problem Behaviors of Children)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to identify the importance of goodness of fit in mother-child temperamental interaction (MCTI) and the child problem behaviors. Methods The behavior problem of 180 child outpatients from traditional Korean medical clinic was measured with Korean version of Child Behavior Checklists, and the temperament of child and their mother was measured with Junior Temperament and Character Inventory and Temperament and Character Inventory-Revised-Short. The MCTI was calculated as the difference of the temperament score between mother and child. The correlation and linear regression analysis was performed to examine the effects of temperament on Child Behavior Checklists. Results The MCTI on Harm-Avoidance was the significant factor for explaining the internalizing problem (B=-.154, t=-10.130, p<.001), externalizing problem (B=-.045, t=-3.340, p=.001) and total problem (B=-.298, t=-7.574, p<.001). We also confirmed that the temperament of mother and child significantly correlated with the child behavior problems as provided previously. Conclusions These results showed that the temperament interaction between mother and child is an important factor for predicting problem behaviors in child clinical sample. The goodness of fit in MCTI and problem behavior should be considered as pivotal element in traditional Korean pediatrics.

한국판 유아 행동 척도-2(Korean Preschool Kindergarten Behavior Scale-2: PKBS-2) 타당화 연구 (A Study on Validating the Korean Version of the Preschool and Kindergarten Behavior Scale-2(K-PKBS-2))

  • The purpose of this study was validate the Preschool and Kindergarten Behavior Scale-2(PKBS-2) and develop the Korean version PKBS-2(K-PKBS-2) through the phases of concept and statistical review. For this purpose, this study conducted PKBS-2 for teachers with 1,119 young children in Jeonbuk province. During the factor structure review, according to the results of exploratory factor analysis, 30 items and 4 factors(social interaction, social cooperation, social compliance, and social independence) in social skills scale and 40 items and 4 sub-factors of 3 factors(internalizing behavior, externalizing behavior, and interpersonal emotional behavior) in problem behavior scale were extracted. In addition, confirmatory factor analysis, the model fits of social skills and problem behavior scales were higher than the original test and very high reliability and internal consistency were produced. During external factor review, convergent validity and discriminant validity were verified. After cultural specificity and cultural universality between PKBS-2 and K-PKBS-2 were discussed, K-PKBS-2 was presented as e scale which is very useful for the screening, prevention, and intervention program plan of challenging behavior behaviors in young children in Korea.

유아의 또래 공격성 피해와 자아 개념, 과잉 행동성, 내재적 및 외현적 문제와의 관련성 (The Effects of Self-Concept, Hyperactivity, and Behavioral Problems on Peer Harrassment in Preschool Children)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the prevalence of peer harassment in preschool children and assess its influence on self-concept, hyperactivity, and behavioral problems. The participants were 4 and 5 year old children recruited from preschools and day care centers. Results indicated that a small group of children were identified as victims by self and teacher-reports. Negative self-concept and hyperactivity predicted self-reported victimization. In addition, hyperactivity, internalizing, and externalizing problems were significant contributors in teacher reported victimization.

유아의 부정적 정서성에 따른 사회적 기술과 행동문제 (Social Skills and Problem Behaviors of Preschool Children : The Effect of Negative Emotionality)

  • Social skills and behavior problems of 90 4- and 5-year-old children were analyzed by children's negative emotionality(sadness, anger, and fear). The instrument for measurement of social skills(cooperation, self-control, assertion, and responsibility) was the Preschool Level of the Korean Version of the Social Skills Rating System(Suh, Mee-Ock, 2004). Measures of behavior problems included internalizing(anxiety, immaturity, withdrawal, physical symptoms) and externalizing(hyperactivity, aggression) problems. Results showed that girls were higher in negative emotionality(sadness) than boys, and 5-year-olds were higher in social skills than 4-year-olds. Children with lower levels of negative emotionality were higher in social skills and lower in behavior problems than children with higher levels of negative emotionality.

복지시설 아동의 심리치료 프로그램 효과의 지속성 연구:아동 행동평가 척도를 중심으로 (Study on the Persistence of Therapy Program Effectiveness in Foster care : Focusing on K-CBCL)

  • 목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 아동복지시설 아동 치료 재활 지원사업에 참여 한 아동, 청소년을 대상으로 사업이 종료 된 9개월 후에도 치료 프로그램의 효과가 지속되는지 여부를 확인하는 것이다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 2016년 아동복지시설 아동 치료 재활 사업에 참여하였던 아동, 청소년 중 120명을 대상으로 아동 행동평가 척도를 사용하여 사전(2016년 5월~6월), 사후(2016년 10월~12월), 추후(2017년 9월)평가를 실시하였다. 문제행동의 변화를 확인하기 위해 반복측정 ANOVA(Repeated Mesures ANOVA)로 분석하였다. 결과 : 미취학과 중 고등학생은 사전에 비해 사후에 문제행동이 감소되었고, 추후에 치료효과가 유지되었다. 초등학생은 사전에 비해 사후에 문제행동이 감소되었고, 추후에 더 감소하였다. 결론 : 본 연구 결과, 미취학, 초등학생, 중 고등학생 모든 집단에서 치료효과가 치료 종결 9개월 후에도 지속되고 있다는 것을 확인하였다.

부모의 원가족 경험과 부부갈등 및 아동 행동문제의 일반적 성향과 이들간의 인과 관계 (Characteristics of and Causal Relationship among Parental Family-of-Origin Experiences, Marital Conflicts, and Children′s Behavioral Problems)

  • This study aimed to find the general tendencies of parental family-of-origin experiences and conflict and their children's behavioral problems as a function of a child's sex, as well as the causal relationships among these variables. Three hundred and five 4th and 5th graders filled out the Korean Version of Achenbach's Child Behavior Checklist. Parents of these children answered the Family-of-Origin Scale and Marital Conflict Inventory. The results were as follows. 1) Fathers experienced more of emotional cut-off from their family of origin than mothers did. However, mothers had more of triangulation and emotional separation from their family of origin than fathers did. 2) Both fathers and mothers reported that mothers had more of marital conflicts. 3) Daughters showed more physical symptoms than sons while sons showed more delinquent behaviors. 4) While parental experiences from the family-of-origin effected the parents' marital conflicts, they didn't influence the children's behavioral problems through marital conflicts.

청소년기 정서 및 행동문제의 성차 (GENDER DIFFERENCES IN EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS OF KOREAN ADOLESCENTS)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 청소년들을 대상으로 문제행동증후군과 사회능력에 있어서의 성차에 대하여 조사하는 것이다. 12세에서 17세 사이의 청소년 6570명(남 2549명, 여 4021명)의 K-YSR자료와 부모 2373명(남자 청소년 1173명, 여자 청소년 1200명)의 K-CBCL자료를 분석하였다. K-YSR분석 결과, 남자 청소년은 사회적 미성숙 척도와 비행척도에서 높은 평균 점수를 보고했고, 여자 청소년은 내재화 문제와 총행동문제증후군 척도에서 뿐만 아니라 위축, 신체 증상, 우울/불안, 공격성 척도에서도 높은 평균 점수를 보고하였다. 또한 여자 청소년들은 사회성과 총 사회능력 척도에서도 높은 점수를 보고하였다. K-CBCL에서는 부모가 남자 청소년에 대해 주의집중 문제와 비행 척도에서 높은 평균 점수를 보고하고 있는 반면, 여자 청소년에 대해서는 내재화 문제 뿐 아니라 위축, 신체 증상, 우울/불안, 공격성 척도에서 높은 평균 점수를 보고하였다. 부모의 보고인 K-CBCL의 사회능력 척도에서는 성차가 발견되지 않았다. 요약하면, K-YSR과 K-CBCL 모두에서 여자 청소년들은 내재화 문제에서 일관적으로 높은 점수를 보이고 있으며, 외현화 문제에 있어서는 유의미한 성차가 발견되지 않았다. 그러나 여자 청소년의 경우 외현화문제에 해당하는 소척도 중 공격성 척도에서 높은 평균 점수를 보였다.

한국판 문제행동 평가도구(Behavior Problems Inventory-01) 표준화 연구 (Validation Study of Behavior Problems Inventory-01 among Korean Children and Adolescents)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the Behavior Problems Inventory (BPI-01) among children and adolescents aged between 3 and 18. Methods: The control group consisting of one hundred children and adolescents was recruited from schools and the patient group consisting of forty one children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder were recruited from a hospital. We compared the measurements of both groups. To assess the concurrent validity of the BPI-01, we compared the problem behavior index of the Korean Scale of Independent Behavior-Revised (K-SIB-R) and, to assess the discriminant validity, we compared the Korean version of the Child Behavior Checklist (K-CBCL). The Cronbach's alpha of the BPI-01 was measured to assess its reliability. Correlation analyses between the BPI-01 and the other scale were carried out to examine the former's concurrent and discriminant validity. Results: The patient group showed a significantly higher score for all three subscales of the BPI than the control group. The Cronbach's alpha was 0.92 for the total severity score of the BPI and ranged between 0.67-0.89 for each subscale in the patient group. All subscales of the BPI-01's, i.e., self injurious behavior, stereotyped behavior and aggressive/destructive behavior, were significantly correlated with the corresponding subscales of the K-SIB-R. The BPI-01 generally did not demonstrate any significant correlation with emotional items such as anxiety/depression in the K-CBCL. Especially, the BPI-01's stereotyped behavior subscale showed little correlation with externalizing behaviors such as social problems and aggressive behaviors. Conclusion: This study found that the Korean version of BPI-01 is a reliable and valid behavior rating instrument for problem behavior in developmental disabilities among children and adolescents.
