  • In container crane system, the variation of cargo weight have effect on the travelling and sway control of load. For precise travelling and/or anti-sway control of crane system, the cargo weight should be measured and considered with control algorithm. But, and added attachment for measuring the cargo weight put restraint upon the control freedom for travelling and anti-sway. In this paper, we propose an estimation method for cargo weight in container crane system by using observation technique. First of all, we model the container crane system as a bilinear system and transform this model into linear system with external disturbance model. Second, we propose a generalized type - disturbance estimation observer and set a disturbance model, where, the cargo weight is related with the sway of load, and the sway is represented as a periodic external disturbance. Lastly, by using simulation we verify that the proposed algorithm of disturbance estimation observer is effective to estimate the cargo weight, and it will be used with anti-sway control algorithm.

위험물저장탱코밑판의 부식 성향분석 및 부식예방 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study On the Corrosion Tendency of Bottom Plates and Corrosion Prevention Measures in Hazmat Tanks)

  • The most important factor in the maintenance of chemical industry facilities is related with deterioration and corrosion. Leakage of hazardous materials is likely to occur because the confirmation and maintenance of bottom plates are very difficult while the bottom corrosion of the massive hazmat-storage facilities is most dangerous especially. As a result of the analysis of the corrosion locations, areas, usage condition of 287 hazmat-storage tanks on this syudy, it is concluded that the main external corrosion factors are the inflow of moisture and the materials inducing corrosion in the air such as sodium chloride and the main internal corrosion factors are corrosion react caused by stay of seawater, sulfur and moisture in hazmat for a long time without appropriate discharges. It is anticipated that the corrosion of bottom plates can be restrained effectively by establishing the proper measures for the each corrosion cause.

Design of Shrinkage Margin for Thin Panel Welded Structure during Manufacturing Process

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a design tool for the shrinkage margin of a deckhouse caused by welding and flame straightening. In order to do it, the effects of heat intensity and internal/external restraint condition on the shrinkage of the simple weldments were investigated, in order to identity the principal factors controlling shrinkage caused by welding process and flame straightening. Based on the results, predictive equations for longitudinal and transverse shrinkage at the welded structure were formulated as the function of heat intensity and in-plane rigidity. These equations were verified by comparing predicted results with the measured results at a panel structure of deckhouse.

  • Current differential protection relaying with second harmonic restraint is the main protection for large capacity power transformer. PSCAD simulation program is widely used for modeling of dynamic varying transients phenomena. This paper deals with a power transformer model and transients analysis using PSCAD software to develop IED for power transformer. Simulation was carried out using a three phase 40MVA, 154/22.9kV, 60Hz, two-winding transformer with Y-Y connection used in actual fields. The paper analyzed transformer magnetizing inrush, external fault, and internal fault conditions with this model in the time domain. In addition, we performed an analysis in the frequency domain using FFT during several conditions.

  • A percentage current differential relay is widely used for transformer protection. Because many percentage current differential relays recently use modified methods instead of conventional methods for deciding the operating characteristics of the large current region, in this paper, the operating region of a percentage current differential relay is analyzed in input-output current domain instead of operating-restraint current domain. An effective method to set the operating region when a CT is saturated is proposed with a series of investigations comparing a conventional method with the proposed modified method. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated for internal and external faults of a power transformer having the voltage rating of 345/154kV. EMTP-RV is used for the relaying data collection.

  • The purposes of this study are to comprehend the internal meaning and the external form in style of Greek statue's clothing in the light of linked solution, and to compare the characterizations of style of Greek statue's clothing with those in Greek Art. For these purpose, the theoretical studies about Greek art are preceded as a framework of this research, and then plastic characteristics of Greek statue's clothing and Greek art are analyzed by the documentary studies, For sources, photographs of Greek statue in Archaeological Museum and Louvre museum are used. The result is as follows. It is demonstrated that the characters of internal meaning in style of Greek art and Greek statue's clothing. The internal meaning of style of Greek art and Greek statue's clothing are as follows 1) Beauty of vital is subject that possessed life and movement and embodied dynamics or inherent power. 2) Beauty of moderation is subject that achieves some of its most impressive and practise a similar economy and restraint. 3) Beauty of character is subject that reveals the character of its wearer and has its own charm and distinction The Greeks clarified beauty by looking for mathematical proportions. It is the interrelation of part with one another, and with the whole, together with the additional element of good colour, which constitutes beauty as perceived by the eyes. The beauty in style of Greek statue's clothing consists of a sense of geometrical pattern, oder, symmetry, proportion, and rhythm.

Validation of the Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire Children (DEBQ-C) version in Turkish preadolescence children

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTİVES: It is important to determine Dysfunctional eating behaviors such as dietary restraint and overeating tendencies in order to provide weight management and acquire the right habits in children. The purpose of this study was to test the reliability and validity of Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire Children (DEBQ-C) with Turkish preadolescent children. MATERIALS/METHODS: This research included 440 preadolescents (9.3 ± 6.9 years and 235 girls, 205 boys). The instrument is divided into three subscales, each with 20 items. Emotional eating, restrained eating, and external eating are the three subscales. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to assess the construct validity of the Turkish version of the DEBQ-C, and Cronbach α values were computed to evaluate the subscale reliabilities. There were 20 observable variables and three latent variables in the hypothesized model. RESULTS: Fit indices for the hypothesized model were good (×2/degree of freedom = 1.96; root mean square error of approximation = 0.05; comparative fit index = 0.95; goodness of fit index = 0.93). These findings revealed that the Turkish version of the DEBQ-C has a factor structure that was identical to the three-factor structure of the original scale. The Turkish version of the DEBQ-C subscales has internal consistency coefficients ranging from 0.72 (external eating) to 0.86. (emotional eating). CONCLUSIONS: The DEBQ-C Turkish version is a viable and reliable tool for measuring overeating tendencies in Turkish preadolescents, according to the findings.

  • The plane strain test has been used widely in order to examine the stress-strain relation and failure behavior. Its advantages are more realistic simulation of deformation and failure behaviors of soils. Most plane strain tests have been carried out with restrained end plates due to difficulties in manufacturing the equipment with free end condition and also performing it. In this study, plane strain tests with/without bottom plate restraint were performed on Jumunjin-sand. The measurement of overall and local deformation was accomplished by digital image correlation technique as well as external LVDT. By applying digital image correlation method using two consecutive images captured through the transparent wall, local deformation behavior of various parts inside the specimen was estimated. From digital image analysis result, the restrained effect of end plate was examined about formation and development of shear band, and deformation mechanism of sand under plane strain condition.

  • This paper concerns the analytical modeling and dynamic analysis of advanced rotating blade structure implemented by a dual approach based on structural tailoring and viscoelastic materials technology. Whereas structural tailoring uses the directionality properties of advanced composite materials, the passive materials technology exploits the damping capabilities of viscoelastic material(VEM) embedded into the host structure. The structure is modeled as a composite thin-walled beam incorporating a number of nonclassical features such as transverse shear, warping restraint, anisotropy of constituent materials, and warping and rotary inertias. The VEM layer damping treatment is modeled by using the Golla-Mushes-McTavish(GHM) method, which is employed to account for the frequency-dependent characteristic o the VEM. The displayed numerical results provide a comprehensive picture of the synergistic implications of the application of both techniques, namely, the tailoring and damping technology on vibration response of thin-walled beam structure exposed to external time-dependent excitations.

조기교통개방 콘크리트의 내구성능 향상에 관한 연구 (Enhanced Durability Performance of High Early Strength Concrete for Early Traffic Opening)

  • 콘크리트포장 보수공사에서 조기교통개방을 위해 현재 국내에서는 초속경시멘트를 사용하고 있으나 이는 초기의 빠른 수화반응과 내.외부적 구속으로 인한 온도수축 및 건조수축이 발생하여 콘크리트포장에 인장응력을 유발한다. 구속으로 인한 수축은 콘크리트내에 균열을 발생시켜 투수성을 증가시키고 장기적으로는 내구성을 약화시킨다. 콘크리트보강재료로서 섬유는 이러한 균열을 제어하는데 효과적이다. 본 연구에서는 국내에서 사용되고 있는 3종류의 초속경시멘트의 내구성을 평가하였고 내구성을 증진시키기 위하여 콘크리트 보강 섬유를 혼입하였으며 일반 콘크리트와 섬유보강 콘크리트를 비교.분석하였다. 실험결과 조기교통개방콘크리트에서 섬유의 혼입은 일반 콘크리트보다 내구성을 증진시키는데 우수한 효과를 나타내었다.
