Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore some new therapies to control clinical symptoms of patients with terminal cancer by using external applications. Methods: We investigated some literatures on the external applications for cancer patients and made diagrams. Results: The results are summarized as follows. External applications are one of the traditional oriental medical methods and these are effective for pain control, ascites & pleural effusion and palpitable mass. It has some characteristics which are simple, safe and popular, but we must pay attention carefully to allergic reaction and toxicity in using external applications. The therapeutic portion of external applications are decided by discipline of syndrome and disease differentiation, and the prescriptions are composed of antitumor herb medicines. Conclusions: From the above results, it is expected that external applications are useful to improve clinical symptoms and quality of life(QOL) for patients with terminal cancer who cannot intake foods or medicines.

By interacting with external wireless sensors, smartphones can gather high-fidelity data on the surrounding environment to develop various environment-aware, personalized applications. In this work we introduce the sensor virtualization module (SVM), which virtualizes external sensors so that smartphone applications can easily utilize a large number of external sensing resources. Implemented on the Android platform, our SVM simplifies the management of external sensors by abstracting them as virtual sensors to provide the capability of resolving conflicting data requests from multiple applications and also allowing sensor data fusion for data from different sensors to create new customized sensors elements. We envision our SVM to open the possibilities of designing novel personalized smartphone applications.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to confirm the effects of external applications(CLANCHE SM A Clinic) containing herbal extracts on patient with atopic dermatitis. Methods : A total of 24 patients who visited Semyung Oriental Medical Center from January 15th, 2014 to February 20th, 2014 were included in the study. In this study, the patients were treated with external applications(CLANCHE SM A Clinic) containing herbal extracts. For 4 weeks of gross examination and instrumental assesment were made before and after the study. Results : 1. In the primary endpoint, SCORAD index showed a statistically significant decline. 2. In the secondary endpoint, index of skin hydration and index of TEWL showed statistical significance. 3. In the secondary endpoint, index of skin pH showed no statistically significant result. 4. To evaluate the safety of the products for the human body, vital sign check were conducted and showed no statistically significant result. And There were no severe adverse events during this study. Therefore, it is suggested that the safety of the products, if used for certain period, should be safe for the human body. 5. In global assesment of efficacy, both experimenter and subjects evaluated external applications were effective. Conclusions : According to the above experiments, it is suggested that external applications(CLANCHE SM A Clinic) containing herbal extracts should be effective for the atopic dermatitis.

A Bi-2223 tape has beer developed for power applications such as a fault current limiter, a power cable and a superconducting magnetic energy storage system. In such applications, the Bi-2223 tape carries time varying transport current and in addition experiences time varying external magnetic field. It is well known that the external magnetic field not only causes magnetization loss in the Bi-2223 tape, but also drastically increases transport loss due to a so-called "dynamic resistance". We developed an evaluation setup, which can measure transport loss in external at magnetic fields. Using this equipment, we measured the dynamic resistances for various amplitudes and frequencies of an external ac magnetic field perpendicular to the face in the tape. Simultaneously we investigated the effect of an external ac field on transport loss with different experimental conditions. This paper describes test results and discussions on correlation between the dynamic resistance and the transport loss for the Bi-2223 tape.

For electric power applications of Bi-2223/Ag superconducting tapes, a transport characteristic is important issue. A transport characteristic is strongly depends on the magnitude and direction of external time-varying magnetic field. To verify a effect of external magnetic field, we manufactured a prototype magnet and obtained transport characteristics with respect to the magnitude, the direction and the frequency of external magnetic field. The data acquired in this paper will be used as a source for the study of HTS electric power applications which is supposed to carry on.

The use of smartphones has grown rapidly over a short period of time, particularly for commuting news search, smart banking, and social networking services, and has had a significant impact on the pattern of contemporary life. Further, a wide range of applications are downloaded on to smartphones. This has also led a considerable number of complaints regarding these applications. In this study, we focus on the levels of dissatisfaction that users experience with smartphone applications and their effects on consumer complaint behavior along with the moderating effects of the complaint handling process and attribution. The aim of this study is to verify whether the following hypothesis--2 (low/high dissatisfaction level of smartphone applications)${\times}2$ (poor/excellent complaint handling process)${\times}2$ (internal/external consumer attribution)--is in accordance with the betweengroup design to build a factorial design experiment. The results of this study are as follows. First, the consumer's tendency to complain significantly influenced their dissatisfaction level. Second, consumer complaint behavior is modulated by the complaint handling process. Third, the external-attribution tendency of consumers was found to lead to more dissatisfaction than the tendency for internal attribution.

In this work, we study the checkpoint/restart problem for message-passing parallel applications running on cloud computing environment. This is a new direction which arises from the trend of enabling the applications to run on the cloud computing environment. The main objective is to propose an efficient checkpoint algorithm for message-passing parallel applications considering communications with external systems. We further implement the novel algorithm by modifying gSOAP and OpenMPI (the open source libraries) which support service calls and checkpoint message-passing parallel programs, especially. The simulation showed that additional costs to the executing and checkpointing application of the algorithm are negligible. Ultimately, the algorithm supports efficiently the checkpoint/restart service for message-passing parallel applications, that send requests to external services.

This paper proposes a structure of a variable impedance control system based on sensor-less external force estimator of industrial manipulators for cyber physical production systems (CPPS). To implement CPPS, a feedback system is constructed by using the robot operating system (ROS) and an external force estimator which is designed to measure the external force applied to the manipulator without a force sensor. Based on the robot dynamics, the robot-human cooperating system for the cyber physics production system is implemented through a controller that changes the impedance characteristics of the manipulator according to the situation using the external force estimator. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control system.

Background : The purpose of this study is to make the oriental medicine treatment useful and develop the way of acne cure. Object&Metbod : This study is based on analysis of Recent paper about Oriental medicine of acne, mainly for the external treatment. Results: We analyzed recent treatis about acne cure with external treatment in clinical and analytic study. For the first, there are various clinical approaches with: single use of external treatment, external treatment and herb medicine methods and acidic ionized water. The others are about practical applications on the external treatment, and traditional chinese medical approaches. Conclusion: To develop the better medical care on acne, development and verifications of various treatment methods are necessary on the basis of the merits of oriental treatment.
