노인에 대한 명시적 및 암묵적 태도: 대학생 및 노인을 중심으로 (The Differences of Explicit and Implicit Attitudes toward Older People in College Students and Older People)

  • 본 연구는 노인과 대학생을 대상으로 노인에 대한 명시적 및 암묵적 태도가 연령 및 성별에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지 검증해보고자 하였다. 남녀 대학생 64명과 남녀 노인 64명을 대상으로 명시적 태도검사, 명시적 선호도검사와 암묵적 연합검사(IAT)를 사용하여, 노인에 대한 태도를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 대학생은 명시적 및 암묵적 수준 모두에서 젊은이를 더 선호하는 내집단 선호를 보인 반면, 노인의 경우에는 두 수준 모두에서 젊은이를 더 선호하는 외집단 선호를 보였으나 두 집단 모두에서 노인에 대한 명시적 및 암묵적 태도 간에는 유의미한 상관관계가 나타나지 않았다. 이에 더해, 성별 및 연령에 따른 노인에 대한 태도에서 차이가 나타났는데, 명시적 수준에서는 노인에 비해 대학생들이 노인을 더 선호하고 신뢰하는 것으로 나타난 반면, 암묵적 수준에서는 남성의 경우에는 노인이 대학생보다 노인을 더 선호하고, 여성의 경우에는 대학생 이 노인에 비해 노인을 더욱 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 노인에 대한 태도를 이론 및 실제적인 측면에서 논의하였고, 마지막으로 연구의 함의 및 제한점을 역시 기술하였다.

패션 명품 선택 시 로고 명확성에 따른 선호도 차이 - 자아해석과 암묵적 이론 유형의 조절 효과를 중심으로 - (Differences in Preference Depending on Signal Explicitness when Selecting Fashion Luxury Brand - The Moderating Effects of Self-Construal and Implicit Theory -)

  • There are differences in preference according to the brand signal explicitness when selecting fashion luxury brand, and the purpose of this study is to verify the moderating effects of self-construal and implicit theory in relation to those preferences. This study divided the experiment design into two $2{\times}2$ mixed design studies: Study 1 and Study 2. The study 1 was composed of the following factors: brand signal explicitness(subtle vs. explicit signal) and self-construal(independent vs. interdependent self-construal). Study 2 was composed of the following factors: brand signal explicitness( subtle vs. explicit signal) and Implicit theory(entity vs. incremental theorist). Convenience sampling was conducted to find the subjects of study 1 and study 2. Study 1 analyzed data from 172 women in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Busan who prefer luxury brand, and study 2 used data from 138 women. The results of this study are as follows. 1) Independent self-construal primed group was shown to prefer subtle signal product to explicit signal product, whereas interdependent self-construal priming group preferred explicit signal product to subtle signal product. 2) The entity theorist to prefer explicit signal product to subtle signal product. On the other hand, the incremental theorist did not show significant difference in the preference between subtle and explicit signal products. Therefore, the results of the present study shown the importance of understanding consumers through the difference depending on consumer inclination and psychology, recommending preferred luxury brand according to the inclination of the target customers, and establishing segmented marketing strategy to captivate consumers with these various characteristics.

다문화시대 한국 초등학생의 인종에 대한 명시적 및 암묵적 태도발달과 태도변화 (The development of explicit and implicit race attitudes in Korean elementary students and race attitude change in the multi-cultural age)

  • 본 연구는 한국 초등학생을 대상으로 인종에 대한 명시적 및 암묵적 태도가 학년에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지 발달적 관점에서 살펴보고, 탈 편견적 메시지를 담은 다문화교육 프로그램이 초등학생들의 인종에 대한 태도변화에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 초등학교 일학년(6세) 117명과 사학년(10세) 117명을 대상으로 명시적 태도검사, 명시적 선호도검사와 암묵적 연합검사(IAT)를 사용하여, 각 인종(한국인/백인/흑인/동남아인)에 대한 내집단선호/외집단 편견적 태도를 살펴보았다. 학년과 성별에 따른 이원 다변량 분산분석결과, 학년증가에 따라 명시적 수준에서는 내집단 선호가 감소하고 외집단선호가 증가하는 반면, 암묵적 수준에서는 오히려 흑인에 대한 편견적 태도가 더 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 연구 2에서는 탈 편견적 다문화교육 프로그램을 실시하여 태도 변화에 미치는 효과를 검증한 결과, 초등학교 일학년과 사학년생 모두 명시적 태도검사에서 흑인에 대한 호감도가 증가하였다. 그러나 명시적 선호도검사와 IAT에서는 탈 편견적인 방향으로 태도변화가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과들을 이론 및 실제적인 측면에서 논의하였다.

Proactive: Comprehensive Access to Job Information

  • The Internet has become an increasingly important source for finding the right employees, so more and more companies post their job openings on the Web. The large amount and dynamic nature of career recruiting information causes information overload problems for job seekers. To assist Internet users in searching for the right job, a range of research and commercial systems were developed over the past 10 years. Surprisingly, the majority of existing job search systems support just one, rarely two ways of information access. In contrast, our work focused on exploring a value of comprehensive access to job information in a single system (i.e., a system which supports multiple ways). We designed Proactive, a recommendation system providing comprehensive and personalized information access. To assist the varied needs of users, Proactive has four information retrieval methods - a navigable list of jobs, keyword-based search, implicit preference-based recommendations, and explicit preference-based recommendations. This paper introduces the Proactive and reports the results of a study focusing on the experimental evaluation of these methods. The goal of the study was to assess whether all of the methods are necessary for users to find relevant jobs and to what extent different methods can meet different users' information requirements.

  • In this paper we present a framework for a novel kind of context-aware preference query composition whereby queries for the Preference SQL system are created. We choose a commercial e-business platform for outdoor activities as a use case and develop a context model for this domain within our framework. The suggested model considers explicit user input, domain-specific knowledge, contextual knowledge and location-based sensor data in a comprehensive approach. Aside from the theoretical background of preferences, the optimization of preference queries and our novel generator based model we give special attention to the aspects of the implementation and the practical experiences. We provide a sketch of the implementation and summarize our user studies which have been done in a joint project with an industrial partner.

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach for the implicit rating algorithm of finding user's intense and preference to the contents on the web. Although the explicit method dig out the user preference of specific contents based on the user's intervention, we propose the implicit method obtaining the user preference according to the user's behavioral patterns on the web implicitly and automatically without the user's intervention. The implementation results show that the proposed approach is highly valuable for supporting recommender systems in conjunction with the users lifestyle.

대학에서의 영어 말하기 오류수정 피드백과 학습자 반응: 교사와 학습자의 태도를 중심으로 (An analysis of corrective feedback and learner uptake in college EFL class: With a focus on teachers' and learners' attitude)

  • The present study explores patterns of teachers' corrective feedback and learners' uptake in Korean EFL undergraduate classroom setting. It also examines consistencies and discrepancies in the perception of corrective feedback by teachers and learners. Teachers' and learners' preferences and perception of corrective feedback are further analyzed to determine whether or not those differ from actual practices in English language learning classrooms. The results of the study are as follows. First of all, teachers' corrective feedback type varied according to the learners' error type and English proficiency level. There was a lack of consistency between the teachers' feedback practices and the learners' error types. Second, for the phonological errors, learners' data witnessed the most frequent uptake on recast. For the other error types, however, the learners' uptake rates were high for the explicit corrective feedback. Third, the teachers' explicit knowledge of corrective feedback was rather low and the preferences differed from teacher to teacher. The teachers' feedback perception and preferences did not consistently reflect their actual practices. Finally, patterns of the learners' expectations of corrective feedback varied according to learners' proficiency level. Teachers' and learners' expectations of corrective feedback were also compared and some mismatches were detected.

Trade Coordination in Free Trade Agreements and Customs Unions

  • Purpose - This paper explains why free trade agreements (FTAs) are more popular than customs unions (CUs) in respect of tariff coordination. Design/methodology - This paper employs an equilibrium theory of trade agreements with tariff coordination. I set up three-country partial equilibrium model with competing exporters. Domestic and exporting firms decide their optimal production under given tariffs and each country levies its tariff under the trade agreements. I found stability of implicit tariff coordination and preference of each country between an FTA and a CU. Findings - I demonstrate that two FTA members can keep their external tariffs higher than separately decided external tariffs by keeping the status-quo. This implicit tariff coordination can benefit each member through trade diversion. In a CU, each member country must have a common optimal external tariff and it must incur costs because each country may seek different external tariffs for their own national welfare. The benefit of implicit coordination in an FTA and the cost of explicit coordination in a CU account for the popularity of the FTA. Originality/value - This paper uses the idea of implicit tariff coordination in trade agreements. In a CU, tariff coordination is explicit and mandatory. All member countries must have a single common external tariff for each good. On the other hand, in an FTA, each country establishes its external tariff with the goal of maximizing its own welfare. However, each country can also coordinate "implicitly" by keeping the status-quo after establishing an FTA.

잠재적 속성 선호도를 이용한 협업 필터링의 데이터 희소성 문제 개선 방법 (Method to Improve Data Sparsity Problem of Collaborative Filtering Using Latent Attribute Preference)

  • 본 논문에서는 협업 필터링의 선호도 예측 정확성의 저하를 초래하는 전통적 문제점 중 하나인 데이터 희소성 문제에 강인한 잠재적 속성 선호도 기반 협업 필터링 방법(Latent Attribute Rating-based Collaborative Filtering, LAR_CF)을 제안한다. 기존의 협업 필터링은 객체의 유사성을 판단하기 위한 특징벡터로써 사용자가 명시적으로 평가한 선호도만을 이용하며, 해당 문제 개선을 위해 속성을 사용하는 연구들은 범용적으로 사용하기 어려웠다. 이웃 기반 필터링에 근본을 두는 LAR_CF는 기존의 명시적 선호도와 함께 유사도 평가의 대상이 되는 두 객체의 고유한 속성을 특징벡터로 삼기 때문에 명시적 선호도의 수가 적어서 발생하는 데이터 희소성 문제를 개선하여 선호도 예측 정확도를 향상시키며, 속성의 종류에 구애받지 않고 손쉽게 적용할 수 있는 장점을 가진다. LAR_CF의 유효성 평가를 위해서 MovieLens 100k 데이터세트 및 해당 데이터세트에 사용된 속성정보를 활용하여 일반적 성능 실험과 인공적 데이터 희소성 실험에서 선호도 예측 정확도를 평가한 결과, 제안하는 방법이 데이터 희소 조건에서 선호도 예측 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.

연관규칙과 가중 선호도를 이용한 추천시스템 연구 (A Study of Recommendation System Using Association Rule and Weighted Preference)

  • Recently, due to the advent of ubiquitous computing and the spread of intelligent portable device such as smart phone, iPad and PDA has been amplified, a variety of services and the amount of information has also increased fastly. It is becoming a part of our common life style that the demands for enjoying the wireless internet are increasing anytime or anyplace without any restriction of time and place. And also, the demands for e-commerce and many different items on e-commerce and interesting of associated items are increasing. Existing collaborative filtering (CF), explicit method, can not only reflect exact attributes of item, but also still has the problem of sparsity and scalability, though it has been practically used to improve these defects. In this paper, using a implicit method without onerous question and answer to the users, not used user's profile for rating to reduce customers' searching effort to find out the items with high purchasability, it is necessary for us to analyse the segmentation of customer and item based on customer data and purchase history data, which is able to reflect the attributes of the item in order to improve the accuracy of recommendation. We propose the method of recommendation system using association rule and weighted preference so as to consider many different items on e-commerce and to refect the profit/weight/importance of attributed of a item. To verify improved performance of proposing system, we make experiments with dataset collected in a cosmetic internet shopping mall.
