Currently, global warming has advanced by the usage of fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum. and the atmosphere temperature in the world of 100 years(1906~2005) has been risen $0.74^{\circ}C{\pm}0.18^{\circ}C$, IPCC announced that the global warming effect of last decade was nearly doubled compared to the changes($0.07^{\circ}C{\pm}0.02^{\circ}C$/10year) in the past 100 years. Moreover, due to the global warming, heat wave, heavy snow, heavy rain, super typhoon, were caused and are increasing to happen in the world continuously causing damages and destruction of social infrastructures, where concrete structures are suffering deterioration by long-term extreme climate changes. to solve these problems, the new construction technology and codes are necessary. In this study, to solve these problems, experiments on a variety of cases considering the temperature and humidity, the main factors of climate factors, were performed, and the cases are decided by temperature and humidity. The specimens were tested in compressive strength test and split tensile test by the curing age(3,7,28 days) morever, performance based design(PBD) method was applied by using the satisfaction curve developed from the experiment date. PBD is the design method that gathers the current experimental analysis and past experimental analysis and develops the material properties required for the structure, and carries out the design of concrete mix, and it is recently studied actively worldwide. Also, it is the ultimate goal of PBD to design and perform on structures have sufficient performance during usage and to provide the problem solving for various situations, Also, it can achieve maximum effect in terms of functionality and economy.
Purpose: To determine the effect of the Fall Prevention Program(EPP) on gait, balance and muscle strength in elderly women at a nursing home. Method: The subjects of this consisted of 38 elderly women between the ages of 70 to 89 years living at a nursing home located in Seoul. Each of the experimental group and control group was composed of 19 subjects. The subjects in experimental group have participated in FPP for the 8 weeks which consisted of exercise, education and foot care. They started to exercise for 40 minutes per session, 3 sessions a week during the 1st week at 40% of age adjusted maximum heart rate. From the 2nd week to the 4th week, they increased the duration of exercise to 50 minutes per session and the intensity to 60% of age-adjusted maximum heart rate. They participated in 50 minutes at 60% of age-adjusted maximum heart rate from the 5th week to the 8th week. Each exercise session consisted of 10 minutes of warming-up exercise, 30 minutes of conditioning exercise and 10 minutes of cooling-down exercise. They participated in education for 20 minutes per week from the 1st week to the 4th week. Then they participated in a 30-minute foot care program per week from the 5th week to the 8th week. Gait, balance and muscle strength for each subject were measured before and after FPP. Gait was evaluated by step length, step width, gait speed and walking distance. Balance was measured by the duration of standing on one leg with their eyes closed and open each, and a get-up and go test. Grip strength was measured by hand dynamometer. Hip extensor and flexor strength, knee extensor and flexor strength and ankle plantarflexor and dorsiflexor strength were measured by manual muscle tester. Data was analyzed using SPSS form Windows. t-test and Chi square test were utilized as a homogeneity test. Repeated measure ANOVA was used to test the effect of FPP. Result: 1) Step width significantly decreased, and step length, gait speed and walking distance significantly increased in the experimental group compared with the control group after FPP(p<0.005). 2) There was no significant change in standing time on one leg with their eyes closed after FPP. The standing time on leg with their eyes open and the time of "get-up and go" significantly decreased in the experimental group compared with the control group after FPP(p<0.005). 3) Muscle strength-grip strength, hip extensor and flexor strength-significantly increased in the experimental group compared with the control group after FPP(p<0.005). 4) There was no significant difference of frequency of fall between the experimental group and control group during the period of FPP. Conclusion: These results suggest that FPP can increase gait, balance and muscle strength of elderly women at a nursing home.
This study was designed to investigate the effects of an aquatic exercise program on the shoulder joint function. physical symptom. quality of life and stress among the patients who received modified radical mastectomy between 6 to 12 months prior to their visits. The subjects were 31 women aged between 40 and 60 who visited the out-patient department at Kang Nam St. Mary's Hospital for follow-up care. and were not under the treatment of intravenous cancer chemotherapy or radiation therapy. and had no complications. Twelve of them were assigned to the control group. while nineteen subjects to the experimental group. The aquatic exercise program was developed by the author with the assistance of exercise specialists. The program includes warming uP. aerobic and cooling down exercises in water. The aquatic exercise program for the experimental group was carried out 3 times a week with 60 minutes in each time for 8 weeks from September 20th to November 15th. 1995 in a regular swimming pool in Seoul. Changes in the range of motion of the shoulder joint. muscle strength. physical symptom. quality of life. and stress were examined after the completion of treatment. The data were collected through isokinetic muscle strength evaluation and questionnaire survey before and after the treatment. Paired and unpaired t-test were adopted to analyze the data. The results were as follows ; 1. The increment in the range of motion of the shoulder joint in the experimental group after the exercise was significantly greater than those in the control group. 2. The peak torque of shoulder girdle muscles increased significantly after the exercise in the experimental group only. 3. The physical symptom score decreased significantly after the exercise in the experimental group only. 4. The experimental group revealed significantly higher level of quality of life and lower level of stress after the exercise compared with those before the exercise. whereas the control group showed no significant changes in those levels. These findings may indicate that the aquatic exercise program is effective in increasing the range of motion of the shoulder joint and muscle strength and quality of life. and also effective in decreasing physical symptoms. and the level of stress in postmastectomy patients. Accordingly. the acquatic exercise program' can be adopted as an effective nursing intervention for postmastectomy rehabilitation.

In an effort to cope with recent high oil price and global warming, developments of air lubricated ships have been pursued to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to save fuel costs by reducing the frictional resistance. In this study, reduction in the frictional resistance by air lubrication with air layers generated on the lower surface of a flat plate was investigated experimentally in the large water tunnel of SSMB. The generated air layers were observed, and changes in the local frictional drag were measured at various flow rates of injected air. The results indicated that air lubrication with air layers might be useful in reducing the frictional resistance at specific conditions of air injection. Accordingly, resistance and self-propulsion tests for a 66K DWT bulk carrier were carried out in the towing tank of SSMB to estimate the expected net power savings.
Due to global warming, the need to secure an alternative resource has become more important nationally. Due to the high tidal range of up to 9.7m on the west coast of Korea, numerous tidal current projects are being planned and constructed. The rotor, which initially converts the energy, is a very important component because it affects the efficiency of the entire system, and its performance is determined by various design variables. In this paper, a design guideline of current generating HAT rotor and acceptable field rotor in offshore environment is proposed. To design HAT rotor model, wind mill rotor design principles and turbine theories were applied based on a field HAT rotor experimental data. To verify the compatibility of the rotor design method and to analyze the properties of design factors, 3D CFD model was designed and analysed by ANSYS CFX. The analysis results and findings are summarized in the paper.
N2O is hazardous atmosphere pollution matter which can damage the ozone layer and cause green house effect. There are many other nitrogen oxide emission control but N2O has no its particular method. Preventing further environmental pollution and global warming, it is essential to control N2O emission from industrial machines. In this study, the thermal decomposition experiment of N2O gas mixture is conducted by using cylindrical reactor to figure out N2O reduction and NO formation. And CHEMKIN calculation is conducted to figure out reaction rate and mechanism. Residence time of the N2O gas in the reactor is set as experimental variable to imitate real SNCR system. As a result, most of the nitrogen components are converted into N2. Reaction rate of the N2O gas decreases with N2O emitted concentration. At 800℃ and 900℃, N2O reduction variance and NO concentration are increased with residence time and temperature. However, at 1000℃, N2O reduction variance and NO concentration are deceased in 40s due to forward reaction rate diminished and reverse reaction rate appeared.

The aim was to report a healthy live birth using re-vitrified-warmed cleavage-stage embryos derived from supernumerary warmed embryos after frozen embryo transfer (ET) in a patient with recurrent implantation failure (RIF). The case was a 39-year-old female with a history of polycystic ovarian syndrome and adenomyosis, along with RIF. After ovarian hyperstimulation, 33 cumulus-oocyte complexes were retrieved and fertilized with conventional in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection. Because of the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, 16 grade B and C embryos were vitrified. After 3 and 6 months, 3 and 4 B-C warmed embryos were transferred to the uterus, respectively. However, implantation did not take place. Ten months later, four embryos were warmed, two grade B 8-cell embryos were transferred, and two embryos were re-vitrified. One year later, the two re-vitrified cleavage-stage embryos were warmed, which resulted in a successful live birth. This finding showed that following first warming, it is feasible to refreeze supernumerary warmed embryos for subsequent ET in patients with a history of RIF.
Recently, exhaust gas regulation has been gradually strengthened due to depletion of fossil fuels and environmental problem like a global warming. Due to this global problem, the demand for eco-friendly vehicle development is rapidly increasing. A clean diesel vehicle is considered as a realistic alternative. The common-rail fuel injection system, which is the key technology of the clean diesel vehicle, has adopted injection strategies such as high pressure injection, multiple injection for better atomization of the fuel. In addition, the emission regulations in the future is expected to be more stringent, which a conventional engine is difficult to deal with. One of the way for actively proceeding is the study of alternative fuels. Among them, the bio-diesel has been attracted as an alternative of diesel. So, in this study, spray characteristics of bio-diesel was analyzed in the common-rail fuel injection system with three injectors driven by different operating mechanism.
Fluctuating climate is still most important environmental constrain, although improved modem agricultural technology has succeeded to increase crop production in the world. To stabilize the food production under fluctuating weather conditions, it is very needed to obain the quantitative information of interactions between crops and climate. The main purpose of this paper is three hold. Using the JIBP-data, the dry matter accumulation of rice crops is studied in relation to weather indexes (\SigmaTa and \SigmaSt). Temperature dependence of the yield index of rice is analyzed as to air temperature and water temperature. \SigmaT$_{10}$ -fluctuations are studied using meteorological data at various stations. The possible shift of \SigmaT$_{10}$ -isopleths due to climate fluctuation is evaluated. The second interest is in the plant climate of rice crops. Using results of canopy photosynthesis, it is pointed that the canopy structure has most important implication in plant climate. Leaf-air, stomatal, and mesophyll resistances of rice crops are described in relation to weather conditions. The change in light condition and aerodynamical property of rice crops with the growth is illustrated. The energy partition is also studied at different growing stages. Third point is to show in more detail effective countermeasures against cold irrigation water and cool summer. Heat balance of warming pond and polyethylene tube as a heat exchanger is studied to make nomo-grams for evaluating the necessary area and necessary length. Effects of windbreak net on rice crops are illustrated by using experimental and simulation results.lts.

It is time to prepare the phaseout of R134a, the current refrigerant, in automotive air conditioning system because the EC deadline has been coming with new platform vehicles in 2011 and all vehicles by 2017. Until now a high-pressure carbon dioxide($CO_2$) system is the leading replacement of R134a in European auto-makers but there is no firm agreement in the world automotive market. Recently three new fluids have been announced as the possibilities from Honeywell, DuPont and INEOS Fluor. The new alternative refrigerant should meet the requirements like non flammable, non toxic, no ozone depletion effect and low GWP(under 150 to meet EC regulation). The objectives of this paper are to review the fluid H from Honeywell, the more possible alternative refrigerant in 3 new fluids, compare the properties of R134a & fluid H and see the possibility as a replacement of R134a. In this experimental paper we ran and reviewed the cooling performance data in the bench system, the vehicle and the field test. We found the possibility of fluid H system to meet the R134a system performance with some hardware modifications but agreed that it is still needed to study about the long term safety, environmental effects, material compatibilities and so on.
