Research on the Effect of Korean Wave(Hallyu) Experience in Southeast Asian Countries on Purchase of Korean Cosmetics: Focused on Malaysia and the Philippines (동남아국가 한류체험이 한국 화장품 구매의도에 미치는 영향연구: 말레이시아와 필리핀을 중심으로)

  • Although many researches have been conducted that the contents consumption, called Hallyu, has a positive effect on the national image of Korea, which leads to product purchases, there have been few empirical studies based on the experience economy theory that connects to value relationships with customers. Therefore, based on the experiential economy theory, this research conducted an empirical analysis of the effect on Korean image and cosmetics purchase intention targeting women living in Malaysia and the Philippines who have experienced the Korean Wave(Hallyu). As a result of the research, entertainment experience, educational experience, and escape experience had a significant effect on the image of Korea, but aesthetic experience did not. Entertainment experience, educational experience and escape experience also had significant relationships in the indirect effect of Korean image on cosmetics purchase intention. In the moderating effect analysis comparing the two countries, in Malaysia, escape experience had a significant effect on the image of Korea, but in the Philippines, entertainment experience and educational experience had a significant effect on the image of Korea, so there was a difference between the two countries. The effect of Korean image on cosmetics purchase intention was confirmed significantly in both countries, but it was greater in the Philippines than in Malaysia. This research is meaningful in that it is an empirical study based on the systematic framework of experiential economy theory. In order to maintain the effectiveness of the Korean Wave(Hallyu), various improvements in the contents that make up the Korean Wave are required and policy consideration by the relevant authorities is needed. It is also necessary to consider each country's different acceptance of the Korean Wave(Hallyu).

On Investigation of Status of Sex Education and Sex Education Needs of High School Students by Their Sexual Experience (일부지역 고등학생의 성교육 실태와 성경험에 따른 성교육 요구도 조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for practical and concrete program development, which can give students satisfaction in sex education. To achieve this purpose, an actual status of sex education for high school student and their sexual experience were investigated. And then tried to find out if there is difference of satisfaction in sex education and contents that they want to learn based on having sexual experience or not. For this study, a questionnaire of sexual awareness was conducted on 562 students among first graders and second graders of high school located in Kongju city, from on October 4th, 2004 to on October 15th. But only 550 answer sheets among 562 were analyzed, for 12 answer sheets were not proper enough to apply to this study. The collected data was computerized using SPSS WIN in frequency and percentage for actual condition of sex education and sexual experience and for satisfaction at the result of sex education based on having sexual experience or not. And then the $x^2$-test was verify the difference. The requirement for sex education, based on having sexual experience or not, was analyzed using t-test by computerizing the average and standard deviation. The conclusion of this study are as followings; 1. 93.8% students have ever been taught for sex education by teachers, but nursing teacher among them was the higher percentage than any other teachers. They took courses for sex education in discretion class, and the teaching method was a kind of lecture. 2. After taking sex education, 37.6% students said that it was boring, for they had already known the contents of the courses, and 43.8% students said that they acquired sex knowledge through the Internet and mass media. 3. It was highest percentage that 36.9% students had no agony about sex. The most serious worry was a sexual impulse and the sexual psychology of the opposite sex. To solve these worries, 61.6% students said that they consulted with their friends. 4. It showed that 89.9% male students and 71.6% female students had experiences various lascivious materials, 81.4% male students, 7.2 female students experienced masturbation, 52.7% female student and 44.8% male students experienced kissing or hugging, and 13.7% male students and 9.9% female students experienced sexual intercourse. 5. The satisfaction for sex education based on having sexual experience or not was different. In short, it showed that the students who experienced sexual experiences such as accessing to lascivious materials, kissing, hugging, and sexual intercourse except masturbation thought that sex education was important than the students who didn't experience sexual experiences. On the other hand, the students who didn't experience sexual experiences were more satisfied with the contents and level of sex education than the students who experienced sexual experiences. 6. The requirement for sex education based on having sexual experience or not was also different. The students who experienced sexual experiences wanted to learn an acquaintance with the other sex than the others. On the other hand, the students who didn't experience sexual experience wanted to learn friendship and love. The students who experienced sexual experience except masturbation was more desirable for taking sex education than the other students. In conclusion, it is fully required that sex education should be regular subject in school and teachers who are charge of sex education should be experts in this field, for only expert can teach systematic and adequate sex knowledge to students. In addition, it is also essential to understand contents of sex education which can be satisfactory for students' requirement. So we should develop concrete and practical programs for sex education.

A Study on the Effects of Accident Experience according to Middle School Students' Personality Type (중학생의 성격 유형이 사고 경험에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: This study aims at grasping the socio-demographic variable, safety education experience, personality type and accident experience and analyzing if the personality type influences on the accident experience. Methods: For 330 third-year students at one middle school located at Gyeonggi-Do, questionnaire survey was performed on 16th, October, 2010. Excepting data of 19 students poor in contents, 311 students' data were analyzed. Results: The results of analysis are like followings. 1. As for relation between the socio-demographic variable and accident experience, it showed statistical significance in sex and how to go to school. And there was no statistical significance in parents' job, educational level of parents, residential type, school record and allowance. 2. As for relation between safety education experience and accident experience, safety education doing school than family lowered accident incidence outstandingly. When safety education frequency increased one time, possibility to experience accident decreased to 30%. 3. As for relation between 4 personality types of MBTI and accident experience, Thinking(T) experienced accident more than Feeling(F). Moreover, it showed difference in accident type and injuried degree. This results were statistically significant. As the result of analyzing the injuried degree by sex only in Thinking(T) and Feeling(F), female students had statistically significant difference. Conclusions: Health care providers should develop school safety programs by characteristics of personality.

  • This study attempted to explore and examine a new user experience (UX) research method for IoT products which are becoming widely used but lack practical user research. While user experience research has been traditionally opted for survey or observation methods, this paper utilized big data analysis method for user online reviews on an intelligent agent IoT product, Amazon's Echo. The results of topic modelling analysis extracted user experience elements such as features, conversational interaction, and updates. In addition, regression analysis showed that the topic of updates was the most influential determinant of user satisfaction. The main implication of this study is the new introduction of big data analysis method into the user experience research for the intelligent agent IoT products.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the deeper meaning of the experience to explore the essence of latter-aged elderly suicide attempt. To this end, by applying the technology of Giorgi phenomenology to focus on the nature of the experience was described reveal the structure of the developing. By targeting eight people aged 75 years and over in Seoul experience with suicide attempts, open the data was collected through in-depth interviews, participants were analyzed on the basis of the aforesaid materials result, late of suicide in elderly seniors experience semantics was putting down that long for the comfort at the crossroads of life. Analysis of six components were derived 'regrets the harsh years', 'desperate and pathetic beholden', 'useless worthless life', 'body of unbearable pain and lethargy', 'no place to lean loneliness', 'the last select'. Discuss these findings the suicide problem of latter-aged elderly suicide attempt, based on experience and in-depth, Elderly mental health and social welfare presented the practical implications for suicide prevention.

  • This study aims to analyze the cultural intelligence and it's relationship with cross-culture adjustment satisfaction, and performance, and then, we prove the moderating role of international experience between cultural intelligence and cross-culture adjustment with staying in the host country. An exploratory pilot study was conducted with a sample of 188 Chinese expatriates working in Korean company in Korea. Then, we proved the moderating role of international experience between cultural intelligence and cross-cultural adjustment. The results of this study have three implications for human resource development. First this study expanded the research of CQ up to the area of empirical investigation. Second, the empirical findings also supported an incremental and predictive validity that CQ increased explained variance of cross-cultural adjustment. Third, the moderating role of international experience in this study showed the importance of both CQ and international experience with staying in the host country.

Effect of Bullying-Related Experience upon Bullying Conformity Types: The Mediating Effect of Ego-Resilience (초등학생의 따돌림 경험이 따돌림 동조에 미치는 영향: 자아탄력성의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect which may operate within bulling-related experience and bulling conformity types in upper-grade elementary school children. The parameter name is ego-resilience. The participants in this research consisted of 445 upper-grade elementary school children. The main result are the following. First, bulling-related experiences had a direct influence upon bulling conformity types (attacker conformity to the victims. conformity, bystander) without using the parametric ego-resilience. Expecially, the bulling-related experience had a positive relationship with attacker conformity. Second, based on the analysis of the relationship between bulling-related experience and bulling conformity types, using the parametric ego-resilience, it was found out that the bulling-related experience have an effect on bulling conformity types both directly and indirectly. Concretely, the parametric ego-resilience has increased from victim conformity and bystander, but decreased from attacker conformity.

  • The purpose of this study was to conduct a task-based field experience program for medical care support departments in hospitals for 1st medical students, and then to analyze the their experiences and its meanings phenomenologically. We selected the following department in hospital; nursing, medical records, pharmacy, diagnosis laboratory, radiology, administration, customer consulting center, organ transplant center, palliative medical ward, and international medical center. The students visited the department and used various methods such as interviewing, observation, and experience to solve the given task. As a result, in the program satisfaction, students rated the highest as having many department in the hospital and understanding their role. The essential structure of the experience of medical care support department in the reflection journal written by the students was the recognition of reality, respect and collaboration, and self-reflection from experience recognition.

The Influence of Perceived Stress on Subjective Well-being: The Mediating Effect of Resilience and Spiritual Experience (기독대학생의 지각된 스트레스가 주관적 웰빙에 미치는 영향: 회복탄력성과 영적 경험의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze mediating effect of resilience and daily spiritual experiences in the relationship of stress situations and subjective well-being of Christian college students. The subjects of this study were 157 Christian college students in a certain University which is located in Seoul, and mediating effect were analyzed through structural equation model. As a result of the analysis, first, there was a significant negative correlation between perceived stress and subject well-being. Second, resilience and spiritual experience had a full mediating effect on the relationship of perceived stress and subjective well-being. Third, in the relationship of perceived stress and subjective well-being, indirect effect through resilience has a greater mediating effect than spiritual daily experience. Implications of these results were concluded that spiritual daily experience of Christian college students is a significant variable in terms of stress and happiness. Apart from spiritual experience, however, resilience also could be a very important variable that mediates stress and happiness for Christian college students. In addition, suggestions for future research were discussed.

Depression Experience and Suicidal Behavior among Menopausal Middle-aged Women in Korea: Mediating Effects of Health related Quality of Life and Moderating Effects of Income (갱년기 중년여성의 우울감 경험과 자살행동: 건강관련 삶의 질의 매개효과 및 소득의 조절효과)

  • This study is to examine moderating effects of income and mediating effects of health related quality of life in the relationship between depression experience and suicidal behavior among menopausal middle-aged women in Korea. This study employed 1,182 middle-aged women aged 40 to 60 of the third year (2015) data from the 6th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES VI). The results are that first, depression experience were significantly associated with suicidal behavior. Secondly, health related quality of life appeared to mediate the relationship between depression experience and suicidal behavior. Thirdly, income was significantly moderated the relationship between depression experience and suicidal behavior in relatively low income group below average income after controlling for mediating effects of health related quality of life. These results showed that there is a need to enhance health policy for mental health care in middle-aged women and to expand intervention program for improvement of health related quality of life, and especially, intervention for improving mental health of low-income group.
