  • It is very important to experimentally evaluate concrete behavior at elevated temperature because aggregates make up approximately 80 percent of volume in concrete. In this study, an experiment to evaluate mechanical properties of normal weight and light weight concrete of 60 MPa was conducted. Based on loading level of 0, 20 and 40 percent, the tests of 28 days compressive strength, elastic modulus, thermal strain, total strain, and transient creep using ${\phi}100{\times}200mm$ cylindrical specimens at elevated temperature were performed. Then, the results were compared with CEB (Committes Euro-international du Beton) model code. The results showed that thermal strain of light weight concrete was smaller than normal weight concrete. Also, the results showed that compressive strength of light concrete at $700^{\circ}C$ was higher than normal weight concrete and CEB code, similar to that obtained at ambient temperature. Transient creep developed from loading at a critical temperature of $500^{\circ}C$ caused the concrete strains to change from expansion to compression. The transient creep test result showed that internal force was high when the ratio of shrinkage between concrete and aggregate was more influential than thermal expansion.

  • This study developed SiC$_{p}$/A1$_2$O$_3$$_{f}$/Al composites for electronic packaging to which reinforcements were added with the volume fractions of 49%, 56% and 63% by the squeeze casting method. 0.8 wt. % of the inorganic binder as well as the A1$_2$O$_3$ fiber and SiC Particles with the volume fraction of 1:10 were added to the composites, which were produced in the newly designed mold. For the produced SiC/Al composites, the CTEs (coefficients of thermal expansion) were measured from 30 to 300 and compared with the FEM numerical simulation to analyze the temperature dependent properties. The experiment showed the CTEs of SiC$_{p}$/A1$_2$O$_3$$_{f}$/Al composites that were intermediate values of those of Rule of Mixture and Turner's Model. The CTEs were close to Turner's Model in the room temperature and approached the Rule of Mixture as the temperature increases. These properties analyzed from the difference of the average stress acting between the matrix and the reinforcements proposed in this study.

  • Differences in physiochemical characteristics of row waxy rice, steeped in optimum steeping conditions ($31.5^{\circ}C$, 9 days) were investigated along with the relationship between these properties and the quality characteristics of Gangjung made from ten different varieties of waxy rice in order to identify the optimal waxy rice variety for making Gangjung. The moisture content of ten waxy rice varieties was increased, but protein and ash contents were decreased during steeping. Mineral analysis, showed that the Fe, Mg, Ca, Na and K contents of all samples were decreased during steeping. Regarding the gelatinization behavior of the ten waxy rice varieties, the peak viscosity and breakdown were increased with the exception of Backjinju and Backjinju-1 during steeping. Shinsunchalbyeo was the most adaptable waxy rice variety for making Gangjung, as its tested scores for expansion ratio and crispness were higher than other waxy rice varieties. The textural properties of Gangjung made from Backjinju and Backjinju-1 had the highest levels of hardness and showed the lowest expansion ratios. Therefore, Backjinju and Backjinju-1 are considered the worst varieties for making Gangjung.

  • Recently, several studies have utilized machine learning to efficiently and accurately analyze seismic data that are exponentially increasing. In this study, we expand earthquake information such as occurrence time, hypocentral location, and magnitude to produce a dataset for applying to machine learning, reducing the dimension of the expended data into dominant features through principal component analysis. The dimensional extended data comprises statistics of the earthquake information from the Global Centroid Moment Tensor catalog containing 36,699 seismic events. We perform data preprocessing using standard and max-min scaling and extract dominant features with principal components analysis from the scaled dataset. The scaling methods significantly reduced the deviation of feature values caused by different units. Among them, the standard scaling method transforms the median of each feature with a smaller deviation than other scaling methods. The six principal components extracted from the non-scaled dataset explain 99% of the original data. The sixteen principal components from the datasets, which are applied with standardization or max-min scaling, reconstruct 98% of the original datasets. These results indicate that more principal components are needed to preserve original data information with even distributed feature values. We propose a data processing method for efficient and accurate machine learning model to analyze the relationship between seismic data and seismic behavior.

  • The concept of Mydata emerged with the expansion of the data economy. MyData aims to empower individuals by enhancing their right to self-determination over their personal data. The use of MyData is expected to enable the provision of innovative service in various fields. Since 2022, MyData has been introduced and actively used in the financial sector. In the future, not only financial institutions but also Bigtech and Fintech companies are expected to actively join and demonstrate rapid expansion. To ensure steady growth for MyData in the financial sector, it is necessary to assess acceptance behaviors from multiple perspectives. However, the majority of existing research solely focuses on positive acceptance. This study analyzed the impact of users' personal characteristics and innovation characteristics on both innovation resistance and acceptance resistance. The analysis revealed that personal and innovation characteristics contribute to an increase in distrust and innovation resistance in the MyData service. In addition, it has been confirmed that it can lead to actions such as delayed acceptance and refusal to accept. The results of this study offer both theoretical and practical insights into user behavior within the MyData service market.

  • Reducing industrial waste and improving the atmospheric environment recently have emerged as important tasks for the casting industry. Various types of artificial sand that can replace natural sand have been developed and used to solve problems that arise with the use of conventional foundry sand and to improve the foundry environment. However, only limited physical properties provided by overseas suppliers are known and in-depth comparative analyses with existing natural sand are lacking. For the design of the casting process, a wide range of thermal properties must be secured not only at room temperature but also at high temperatures. In addition, it is important to compare and analyze the differences in thermal properties between existing natural and artificial sand because changes in thermal properties require changes in the design of the casting method. In this study, the thermal behavior of the mold was analyzed through a thermal expansion test of mold blocks for natural and artificial sand., To this end, a thermal property test to evaluate thermal conductivity was performed by determining a temperature range. The results of the experiment, revealed that the thermal conductivity was 5-40% higher in artificial sand than in natural sand, and the coefficient of thermal expansion was about 15% lower for artificial sand. However, there was not a significant difference in specific heat regardless of the composition.

  • In this research, the thermal properties of limestone fine powder at high temperatures were examined, followed by an analysis of its residual compressive strength when incorporated into concrete under various thermal conditions, to determine its impact on concrete subjected to high heat. The study revealed that at 900℃, limestone micropowder undergoes a decarbonization reaction, where calcium carbonate(CaCO3) decomposes into calcium oxide(CaO), accompanied by an expansion of the limestone powder as temperature increases. This expansion leads to material cracking or crushing starting at temperatures above 500℃. Further analysis on concrete mixed with limestone powder showed that heating up to 300℃ could promote the reaction of hydrates within the concrete, thereby enhancing its strength. However, exposure to temperatures beyond 500℃ causes the limestone powder within the concrete to crack or fracture, significantly reducing the concrete's strength properties. This study highlights the dual role of limestone fine powder in influencing concrete's behavior under high-temperature scenarios, demonstrating an initial strengthening effect followed by a detrimental impact at higher temperatures.

  • Understanding ethical fashion consumers in Korea is essential for the expansion of the ethical fashion market. This study analyzed ethical consumers in Korea in an examination of the factors that influence ethical purchase behavior and attitudes. The differences between ethical fashion consumers and non-ethical fashion consumers were investigated using eight variables (perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE), self-direction, benevolence, universalism, social responsibility, perceived behavioral control, face saving, and group conformity). Data were collected by means of a questionnaire through both on-line and off-line surveys from April 20 to June 7, 2009. Only the respondents knowledgeable of ethical products or ethical consumption were asked to complete the questionnaire. A total of 494 samples were used for analyses. Using independent samples t-test, the differences in each variable between two groups were examined. There were significant differences between ethical fashion consumers and non-ethical fashion consumers in attitudes toward ethical consumption behavior, behavioral intention, PCE, self-direction, universalism, social responsibility, and face saving variables. The factors influencing attitude and behavior intention were investigated by step-wise regression analyses. For ethical fashion consumers, the attitudes to ethical consumption behavior were largely influenced by PCE and benevolence. Social responsibility was the most predictable variable in guiding behavioral intention. Behavioral intention was also influenced by benevolence and attitude. Group conformity was found to be negatively correlated with behavioral intention. The findings of this study provide significant guidance for marketers of ethical fashion products. This study is the start of ethical fashion consumer research in Korea and can develop into variable subfields in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the unique entrepreneurial behavioral attributes of social enterprises that are distinct from for-profit enterprises at the organizational level, derive a social entrepreneurship model that reflects the unique characteristics of social enterprises as strategic decision-making and organizational behavioral tendencies. In order to effectively achieve the purpose of this study, previous studies were reviewed, and qualitative studies were conducted using the grounded theory method based on this. In this study, social entrepreneurship was identified as five sub-factors through a series of analysis processes, and 'Social value orientation; Innovativeness; Pro-activeness; Risk taking; Cooperation orientation' was newly proposed. It also proposed a new social entrepreneurship framework that integrates and explains the multidimensional model of social entrepreneurship by reviewing and connecting the relationships between each sub-factor of the research model. The 'social entrepreneurship framework' classified the social entrepreneurship model into 'pro-social motivation', 'pro-social behavior', and 'entrepreneurial behavior' attributes and explained them by linking them with each sub-factor that constitutes social entrepreneurship. The most remarkable difference between this study and previous studies is that it identified and added 'Cooperation orientation' as a sub-factor constituting social entrepreneurship from the organizational-level behavioral point of view. Through this study, 'Cooperation orientation' was identified as a major behavioral tendency for social enterprises to materialize pro-social motivation, strengthen the economic foundation of business activities, and improve the efficiency of business operations. 'Cooperation orientation' is a major behavioral tendency that strengthens the legitimacy of business activities between pro-social motivation and profit-seeking of social enterprises, improves the performance of social value creation activities, and overcomes the difficulties of resource constraints through cooperation with the outside and improves operational efficiency. In addition, it was confirmed that 'Cooperation orientation' is a major behavioral tendency of social enterprises that is manifested simultaneously in social value-oriented activities and entrepreneurial activities pursuing profit. The 'Cooperation orientation' newly identified in the study supplements the previous research, increases the explanatory power of the theory of social entrepreneurship, and provides the basis for theoretical expansion to subsequent researchers.

  • The spread of non-face-to-face services due to the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many changes in consumers' purchasing behavior and attracted much attention to new services. Could trying new services caused by this sudden environmental change alter consumers's choice patterns? This study proposes the research question of whether these new service experiences can change consumers' existing choice behavior, especially for risk-averse consumers who maintain their existing choice behavior or prefer safe alternatives. In this study, we examined whether trying out an unmanned payment services, one of innovative services that emerged after the pandemic crisis, can change the existing choice behavior of risk-averse consumers, i.e., make them more likely to prefer risky alternatives to safe alternatives. To accomplish these research goals, this research conducted one pilot survey and one study. The results of pilot survey showed that the stronger the prevention-focus tendency, the lower the self-efficacy to use the innovative service, with a negative relationship between them. Based on these findings, the study used an experimental method to examine the interaction effects between the use of innovation services and consumers' regulatory focus in a choice behavior and to explore the psychological mechanisms behind them. According to the results, it is found that prevention-focused consumers were more likely to choose risky alternatives and dissimilar extended brands following a trial of an unmanned payment service compared to not using that service. In contrast, promotion-focused consumers did not show different choice patterns regardless of following a trial of an innovative service. Furthermore, these results for prevention-focused consumers confirm the role of self-efficacy as a psychological mechanism. These findings shed light on the role of self-efficacy which has discussed in positive psychology into marketing area. Moreover, practical and academic implications are suggested by the finding that behavioral change occurs in risk-averse consumers, who are known to be hesitant to try new behaviors, indicating market expansion related to potential consumers for the use of the innovation services.
