An analysis of elastic wave propagation in inhomogeneous solids using the Fourier method (Fourier 방법을 이용한 불균일 고체의 탄성파전달해석)

  • Wave propagation in inhomogeneous elastic media is studied by using the Fourier method, where the spatial derivatives are computed by the FFT algorithm, while the time derivatives are expanded into the second order finite different expansion. For numerical examples, wave propagation in the layered half-plane are investigated. The comparisons of numerical and analytic results shows good agreement.

  • In this paper, we describe about polygon resizing porblem where the given polygons are expanded or shrunk in two dimensional plane. First, the definition of polygon resizing and it's problems are given, then the enhanced XY method is proposed: the polygon resizing can be completed in one directional sweep of plane only, usisng enhanced plane sweep method. The time complexity is 0(n log n), and space complexity 0(\ulcorner), where n is the number of verties of polygons. The applications of polygon resizing to the mask artwork processing and layout verification are discussed.

  • In this Paper, the PC input device using MEMS gyros and accelerometer is newly developed, so that it can measure rotation rate and linear acceleration of the human body in space. In General, the human motion has 6 degree of freedom but 2 degree of freedom is enough PC monitor with 2D display. Therefore the simple method is proposed to achieve minimum degree of freedom. It is also applied to the PC mouse. This method can be expanded to the input device for internet set-top box or internet TV.

An Experimental Study on the Application of End-Expanded Soil Nailing Method (선단확장식 소일네일링 공법의 적용성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The peculiarity of end-expanded soil nailing method(EESNM) is in fixing the wedge-type steel body spreaded by collars and grouting its surroundings by cement milk within soils, after extending hole bottom over drilling hole diameter with top drill bit. The present study was done to establish the effect of this method. Laboratory model test were carried out to investigate the behavior characteristics with the performance of the pull-out test and failure experiment, after preparing soil test box having 1,300mm length, width 1,000mm, and height 1,100mm, and the same experimental condition was set up to compare with the general soil nailing method(GSNM). The pull-out force of about 23 percentage was increased, and the horizontal displacements 1.2 from 9.1 percentage in soil-nailed wall decreased in EESNM compare with GSNM. The axial force acting on nail increased considerably at load level over 7 ton in EESNM and 5 ton in GSNM. The predicted failure line from the maxima analyzed by axial tensile strain located at long distance from soil-nailed wall in EESNM. The EESNM demonstrated the superiority of reinforcement effect in comparison with GSNM from the results above mentioned.

Low Computational Adaptive Expanded Block Search Motion Estimation Method (저연산 적응형 확장 블록 탐색 움직임 추정 기법)

  • In this paper, Low Computational Adaptive Expanded Block Search Motion Estimation Method is proposed. Proposed method classifies ME blocks as Average Motion Block(AMB) and Local Motion Block(LMB) according to correlation of reference frame. It could reduce the computational complexity with performing Modified Fast Search(MFS). And accuracy of MV is also increased by 4 sub-blocks on LMB and Block Expansion(BE). The experimental results show that the proposed method has better performance that increased 1.8dB than Diamond Search and 0.6dB than Full Search with 7.5 % computation of Full Search. The proposed method could be applied to video compression and Frame Rate Conversion(FRC).

  • In this paper, E-TDLNN(Expanded-Tapped Delay Line Neural Network) method is suggested to make the model of power amplifier effectively. This method is the one for making the model of power amplifier through the study in neural network to the target value, the measured output spectrum of power amplifier, after adding the external value factor, gate bias, as an invariant input to the TDLNN method which suggested the memory effect of power amplifier effectively. To prove the validity of suggested method, the data at 2 points, 3.45 V and 3.50 V of gate bias range $3.4{\sim}3.6V$ with the 0.01 V step change, are studied and the predicted results at the gate bias 3.40 V, 3.48 V, 3.53 V and 3.60 V shows good coincidence with the measured values.

  • This study investigates developments in a prestressing method using the thermal-expanded cover-plates that increases the load-carrying capacity of structures by installing it on upper or lower flanges in case that huge flexural stiffness according to the increase in span length or load are required of steel structure, such as rolled H-beam or built-up beam. This method applies multi-stepwise contraction forces generated by the contraction of cover plates as prestressing forces after joining the cover plate applied by multi-stepwise thermal expansion that was applied to induce prestressing to structures. To perform a theoretical investigation of the prestressing force applied to a structure due to the thermal expansion and induce a multi-stepwise prestressing method using multi-stepwise thermal distribution, this study proposes a theoretical heat transfer solution for the multi-stepwise thermal distribution of cover plates and analyzes the effect of a multi-stepwise prestressing method using the multi-stepwise thermal expansion.

  • The objective of this study was to optimize the freezing/thawing method of in vitro produced Hanwoo blastocysts. Day 7 blastocysts after IVF were vitrified using EFS40 (40% ethylene glycol, 18% ficoll, 0.3 M sucrose and 10% FBS added m-DPBS) as a freezing solution and electron microscope (EM) grid (V-G) or straw (V-S) as an embryo container. In both method, freezing/thawing were treated by 2-step, treatment time was required in V-G method and V-S method, for 2 min / 3 min and 3.5 min / 10 min, respectively. Embryo survival was assessed as re-expanded and hatched rates at 24 h and 48 h after warming, respectively. The results obtained in these experiments were summarized as follows: when the effect of exposure in vitrification solution and chilling injury from freezing procedure on in vitro produced expanded blastocysts were examined, at 24 h after warming, embryo survival in exposure group (100.0%) was not different compared to that in control group (100.0%), although those results were significantly different with two vitrified groups (V-G: 87.8, V-S: 77.8%) (P<0.001). However, at 48 h after warming, hatched rates of V-G group (67.8%) were significantly higher than those of V-S group (53.3%) (P<0.05). In addition, this hatched rate in V-G group was not different with that in exposure group (73.3%). When the effects of embryo developmental stage (early, expanded and early hatching blastocysts) and embryo container (EM grid and straw) to the in vitro survival of vitrified-warmed day 7 Hanwoo blastocysts were simultaneously examined, fast developed embryos were indicated the better resistance to freezing than delayed developed one, irrespective of embryo containers (early; 57.1 & 24.4%, expanded; 84.7 & 60.6%, early hatching; 91.7 & 80.0%) (P<0.001). Especially, in expanded and early hatching blastocysts, embryo survival of V-G group (67.8, 95.0%) was significantly higher than those of V-S group (53.0, 65.0%) at 48 h post warming, respectively (P<0.05, P<0.001). Therefore, this study indicates that Hanwoo blastocysts can be cryopreserved more simple, efficient and successful by vitrification method using EM grid.

  • This study was performed to investigate the effects of embryo developmental stage and superoxide dismutase (SOD) on the survival of frozen-thawed porcine embryos by open pulled straw(OPS) method. Porcine IVF blastocysts were frozen-thawed by OPS method and cultured for 48 h under the existence of SOD. There are no significant differences in the proportions of normal morphology among the early, mid- and expanded blastoryst stages $(30.8{\sim}38.6%)$. After culture of embryos, the developmental rates to the expanded blastocyst stage(38.7%) were significantly higher than those of other stages (P<0.05). The proportions of expanded and hatched embryos were higher in medium with 1 unit/ml SOD than 0 and 10 units/ml of SOD. The result indicates that OPS method can use for the pig embryo cryopreservation, especially for the late stage blastocysts. SOD may can reduce the demage of frozen-thawed porcine embryos.

  • Script viruses are easy to make a variation because they can be built easily and be spread in text format. Thus signature-based method has a limitation in detecting script viruses. In a consequence, many researches suggest simple heuristic methods, but high false-positive error is always being an obstacle. In order to overcome this problem, our previous study concentrated on analyzing data flow of codes and has low-false positive error, but still could not detect a polymorphic virus because polymorphic virus loads self body and changes it before make a descendent. We suggest a heuristic detection method which expands the detection range of previous method to include polymorphic script viruses. Expanded data flow analysis heuristic has an expanded grammar to detect Polymorphic copy Propagation. Finally, we will show the experimental result for the effectiveness of suggested method.
