Observer-based Control for Switched Linear Systems (선형 스위칭 시스템의 관측기 기반 제어)

  • In the previous work, we proposed a new stability criterion for the stability of switched linear systems. By the proposed criterion, we could simply check the stability of switched linear systems because the criterion is applicable to each individual subsystem without need to consider the overall system. Using this criterion, we provided the methods that design a state feedback control when full states are available. In this paper, we apply the same criterion to the case when full states are not available. Unlike existing method such as dwelling time analysis, the proposed method is suitable to a fast switching process because there is no need to consider dwelling time. And we can easily achieve designing multi-controller, multi-estimator, and the supervisor by means of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we consider a generalized mixed H_2/H_{\infty}$ output feedback problem. It is finding an internally stabilizing controller that minimizes a mixed $H_{2}$/ $H_{performance}$ measure. We show that a generalized mixed H_2/H_{\infty}$ system with two exogenous inputs and two controlled signals is transformed into auxiliary system with two exogenous inputs and one controlled signal. The two systems have equivalent performance. Therefore, a complete solution of generalized mixed H_2/H_{\infty}$ output feedback problem is achieved by existing results of mixed H_2/H_{\infty}$ control theory.

  • This paper describe an intelligent cruise control system for automobile. With the remarkable numerical increase of automobiles on the road, the optimized traffic flow control using the cruise control is one of the very important traffic problems to overcome the limitation of an existing road capacity. Based on this idea that minimize the fuel cost and the air pollution, and accept a driver's needs for driving, we have developed an intelligent cruise control system for vehicle. This proposed intelligent fuzzy cruise controller was successfully implemented using the fuzzy algorithm, the i80c196 μ-controller board and the throttle valve actuator. The field test results on an linear road was introduced.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm for switching LQ(Linear Quadratic) controllers designed at each flight envelope without a bump phenomenon. This algorithm is derived to apply to LQ controller more easily than existing implementation algorithm and is proposed to consider trim points of nonlinear models, which is adequate to real applications. This paper exemplifies the control performance improvement via simulations applied to LQ control of a supersonic test aircraft as a benchmark problem to test the proposed algorithm performance.

  • Manufacturing devices must be integrated for constructing CIM environment, but integration of heterogeneous system meets several economical and technological difficulties. In this case, MMS(Manufacturing Message Specification) can be an effective method, but it has problems which MMS products are generally very expensive and majority of the existing manufacturing devices do not support MMS. This paper describes the development of a gateway for Non-MMS-Compatible CNC machine tools to serve MMS and the implementation of OSI(Open System Interconnection) upper layer on TCP/IP. The developed system is applied to construct cell controller with heterogeneous devices under CIM environment and to evaluate interoperability and portability.

Design of Real-Time CAN Framework Based on Plug and Play Functionality

  • Nowadays most vehicles are equipped with a variety of electronic devices to improve user convenience as well as its performance itself. In order to efficiently interconnect these devices with each other, Controller Area Network (CAN) is commonly used. However, the CAN requires reconfiguration of the entire network when a new device, which is capable of supporting both of transmission and reception of data, is added to the existing network. In addition, since CAN is based on the collision avoidance using address priority, it is difficult that a new node is assigned high priority and eventually it results in transmission delay of the entire network. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new system component, called CAN coordinator, and design a new CAN framework capable of supporting plug and play functionality. Through experiments, we also prove that the proposed framework can improve real-time ability based on plug and play functionality.

  • In order for effective operation of existing power systems, introduction of the so-called FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) such as SVC and UPFC etc, is unavoidable. The UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller) is composed of STATCOM(Static Compensator) and SSSC(Static Synchronous Series Compensator), and is used to control the magnitude and phase angle of injected sources which are connected bothin series and in parallel with the transmission line to control the power flow and bus voltages. This paper presents a UPFC simulation on RTDS. The voltage and phase angle of a system have been analyzed by regulating the firing angle inside the UPFC.

  • Fluctuation of control rod was experienced when plant was operating in normal operation mode in WH type NPPs. In order to cope with increased control rod fluctuation, the lead-lag controller setpoint for rod control system was optimized and resulted in increasing the margin of operation and minimizing unnecessary control rod movement. By optimization of the time constant, the margin of operation was increased by $1.5^{\circ}F$ and the control rod movement was not occurred due to mitigation of temperature fluctuation in loop. According to the mitigation of time constant, the margin of operation was increased but safety margin can be affected badly, so that the influences to FSAR design reference was evaluated. As the result of this evaluation, it satisfied the design reference of the existing safety analysis and was applied to NPP after obtaining the approval.

  • Generally, the phase control dimmer has been widely used due to simple interface and easy handling. However, the electrical characteristics are not good for the method in which the phase control dimmer cuts the input voltage. This paper has researched about DALI(Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) controller, that is the digital lighting control method, and implemented DALI protocol satisfied with the IEC-62386 standard. In addition, the existing phase control dimmer was used as the controller of DALI and not only individual control but also group control was possible. And the performance was proved to be good by applying our theory to 30[W] LED lighting control system.

  • The existing automation transfer systems such as AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle) have many problems (maintenance, accuracy, velocity, etc.) and wastes of a vast space and time. Hence we have suggested to LMTT(Linear Motor-based Transfer Technology). This paper deals with fundamental LMTT, and proposes a concept of mass reduction and propulsion control for LMTT when it is starting and reaching an object by using lift-force. By applying optimal controller and the repulsive lift forte in the LMTT, a large percent of vehicle weight is compensated and it reduces friction, then it needs less thrust force to propel the vehicle.
