This study was designed to determine whether visitor behavior at science museums differs across various exhibit styles and between Family and Non Family groups. Eight exhibits in the natural history sections of the national science museum located in Daejeon were identified to have distinctive characteristics and styles. At each selected exhibit, visitor behavior was observed for an hour. An average of eighty people stopped by each exhibit. Descriptive analyses of visitors behaviors showed that: 1) families spent more time than non-family visitors; 2) families paid more attention to exhibits, for instance, they talked and commented about the exhibits; 3) exhibit characteristics related to holding power and attention span; 4) families more frequently visited exhibits related to school curriculum rather than ones that looked attractive, fun or novel. Visitors did not play with sensory simulation types of exhibits as much as expected. This implicates that exhibit style does not guarantee long visitors holding time and attracting power. Non-significant results are explained in terms of environmental and exhibit-related factors. Several potential factors including visitor factors, setting factors, and exhibit factors are discussed and explored with topics proposed for future study.
The form and function of modern museum present more a variety of aspects in need of transition of the mature civil society and culture than the past. Considering that an art museum is the space where a multitude of unspecified visitors inspect simultaneously, exhibitions and adequate construction make visitors lead to successively visual contact. Consequently a goal of this study is to analyze that there is correlation between exhibit space and exhibitions and to suggest an alternative plan at exhibition through relationship among exhibitions, exhibit space and spectators' behavior. Two Art galleries (one is a large-sized gallery and the other is a small-sized one) located in Pyung-Chang dong were selected to analyze the correlation and suggest the better display for the exhibition. The finding of the study is following. The exhibit space which spectators recognize is assumed diverse forms by an unique characteristics of exhibits and space and an arrangement of exhibitions and the path of flow of spectator who walking ahead have an huge effect on a spectators' behavior. In other words, spectators' watching patterns are affected by display of exhibitions and the path of flow. That is to say, the spectators' behavior and the concentration to watch exhibitions is decided by the exhibit form in the museum, and the quality of watching experience is depended on the spectators' relevant knowledge prior to exhibitions.

As the characteristics of national economy is getting more complicate, the value of exposition is regarded as of great importance day by day. The world's Products Exhibition in which our companies and organizations take part is held all abound world, we also held the international exposition and Products Exhibition. In foreign countries, there are a lot of special organizations relate with the exposition and Products Exhibition display, which play the role to coordinate and mediate the display. Display space of exhibition must achieve functional role that can accomplish communication with spectator as well as function as place that possess products of accumulative value. Therefore, we must establish effective communication exhibition plan by position and form of display space as well as property of Products Exhibition, display contents, exhibit program to achieve purpose of Products Exhibition. We will can grope contents and method for successful exhibit through Products Exhibition that is connected form and position of exhibit between exhibit space of such Products Exhibition and we may achieve purpose of Products Exhibition.
The purpose of this study was to explore characteristics of natural history museum exhibits from the viewpoint of science education. A total of ninety exhibits for this study were examined in national science museums of Korea and Japan. Exhibits of Tokyo national science museum were again divided into two groups: the old and traditional types, and the new and renovated ones. Even though analyzing data was not undertaken through quantitative statistical process, the interpretation of the data was valid enough to fulfill the purpose of the research. While there were clear changes and differences between the old and the new types of exhibits in Tokyo national science museum, the old part of Tokyo museum was similar to one in Korea. Based on analyzing the new types of Tokyo museum, the current movement in the field of natural history museums of Korea explicitly has toward utilizing more science education concepts and ideas.
We investigated the effects of the re-oxidation temperature and time on the positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of resistivity characteristics of Sm-doped $BaTiO_3$ sintered at $1200{\sim}1260^{\circ}C$ for 2 h in a reducing atmosphere (3% $H_2/N_2$), followed by re-oxidization processes in air, in which re-oxidization temperature and time were $600{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$ and $1{\sim}10$h, respectively. The result reveals that Smdoped (Ba,Ca)$TiO_3$ ceramics fired in a reducing atmosphere exhibit low PTC characteristics, whereas the sample re-oxidized at $800^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in air exhibit pronounced PTC characteristics. The room-temperature resistivity and jumping characteristics of resistivity (${\rho}_{max}/{\rho}25^{\circ}C$) decrease with Sm contents. The PTC characteristics with reoxidization time at $800^{\circ}C$ have improved about $2{\sim}3$ orders of magnitude whereas differed according to the sintering temperature. The 0.7 at% Sm-doped (Ba,Ca)$TiO_3$ samples reveal the best PTC characteristics in the present range of formula and processes.
Two identical experiments are conducted at a six month interval in order to examine the VOT and its effect on the whole syllable duration or the rest portion of the syllable in Busan Korean. Just like the general characteristics of VOT, the aspirated stops consistently exhibit the longest VOT while tense stops have the shortest VOT. However, alveolar stops exhibit shorter VOT than labial stops, and it is contrary to the previous studies which claim that VOT values of labial stops are shorter than VOT values of alveolar stops. Moreover, there is a relationship between VOT and syllable/VC duration across stops. While VOT and syllable/VC duration have symmetric relationship for the aspirated velar and bilabial stops, other lax and tense stops exhibit the inverse relationship between the VOT and syllable/VC duration.
Autophagy is an important degradative pathway that eliminates misfolded proteins and damaged organelles from cells. Autophagy is crucial for neuronal homeostasis and function. A lack of or deficiency in autophagy leads to the accumulation of protein aggregates, which are associated with several neurodegenerative diseases. Compared with non-neuronal cells, neurons exhibit rapid autophagic flux because damaged organelles or protein aggregates cannot be diluted in post-mitotic cells; because of this, these cells exhibit characteristic features of autophagy, such as compartment-specific autophagy, which depends on polarized structures and rapid autophagy flux. In addition, neurons exhibit compartment-specific autophagy, which depends on polarized structures. Neuronal autophagy may have additional physiological roles other than amino acid recycling. In this review, we focus on the characteristics and regulatory factors of neuronal autophagy. We also describe intracellular selective autophagy in neurons and its association with neurodegenerative diseases.

Science hands-on exhibits are increasingly popular, especially during vacation time. These exhibits hire guides to help visitors to understand the contents. In this study, the qualifications of the guides are investigated through interviews with the producers who run the exhibit. There were two main questions the researcher was interested in during the interviews. One was the importance of the science background of the guides. The second was the characteristics of guides that the producers consider important for successful exhibits. The results show that a science background is not an important qualification in the view of most of the producers. Many factors other than science, such as accountability or social skills, were considered to be of greater importance than a background in science.
The purpose of this study is to isolate characteristics of exhibits particularly considering educational perspectives and effectiveness in attracting the attention of visitors in famous Natural History Museums. The target exhibits were selected from the Natural History museum in London, the Australian Museum in Sydney, the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. A total of 107 sample exhibits used in this study from these four museums were selected as representative solid earth science education related exhibitions including fossils, geological history, and minerals. For the investigation, this study developed a checklist with seven items based on reviewing previous literature and articles pertaining to exhibit characteristics of natural history museums and science centers. Also the educational perspectives focused on classifications of exhibitions by Hein (1997). In this study, all the sample exhibit, were taken pictures of and stored on slide films for lated examination. Respectively exciting and positive results were found in all four museums. The analyses, however, indicated weaknesses as well as strengths in the four museum exhibits.

Chemistry and microstructure of steel reinforcement bars play an important role to control the corrosion in concrete environments. In present study, we have chosen two different microstructure of steel rebars produced from companies and assessed their corrosion characteristics in simulated concrete pore (SCP) solution with prolonged exposure periods. Hot rolled steel rebar showed more corrosion resistance compare to thermo-mechanically treated (TMT) one. The growth of passive is greater in hot rolled (A) than TMT (B) due to orientation of microstructure. TMT steel rebar exhibit distorted microstructure with many micro cells which enhances the galvanic coupling and induce the deterioration while on the other hand hot rolled rebars exhibit fine grain boundary which responsible in growth of uniform, adherent and protective passive film resultant improved impedance was observed.
