  • Structure safety inspection is executing periodically to apply with maintenance data of the structure. Because of the location of structure is appearing by measuring point and picture in the subway. It is difficult to track the accurate location of the inspected structure. Purpose of this paper is computerizing location and attribute of construction and searching efficiency by GIS.

  • Progresses in numerical prediction of weather and climate have been in parallel with those of computing resources, especially the development of supercomputers. Advanced techniques in numerical modeling, computational schemes, and data assimilation cloud not have been practically achieved without the aid of supercomputers. With such techniques and computing powers, the accuracy of numerical forecasts has been tremendously improved. Supercomputers are also indispensible in constructing and executing the synthetic Earth system models. In this study, a brief overview on numerical weather / climate prediction, Earth system modeling, and the values of supercomputing is provided.

  • Research in operations strategy has evolved considerably since Wickham Skinner's early conceptual work. Traditionally research in operations strategy has not explicitly recognized the distinction between process and content research. However, separate conceptual models for process and content are extracted from the literature Recent research in operations strategy has focused on showing the extent to which manufacturing's competence in developing and executing one or more competitive capabilites affects the organization's overall business performance. This paper takes a approach to examining the relationships among competitive capabilities, and the relationships among between those capabilities and business performance.

  • This paper compares the differences between Java virtual machine and x86 processor in data transfer viewpoint. Memory models of JVM and x86 are analyzed and the data transfer paths are identified. As all operations must be performed to the values on operand stack, a great many data transfer operation is unavoidable in JVM. We also lists the number of data transfer operations necessary for executing some typical high-level language statements including assignment, arithmetic, conditional, and iterative statements.

  • The superscalar architecture shows limit in performance improvement recently. While, SMT(Simultaneous Multi-Threading) architecture is receiving remark. The purpose of SMT architecture is to improve the performance of superscalar microprocessors by executing multi threads at the same time. In this paper, a load/store unit(LSU) suitable for ARM-compatible SMT microprocessors is presented. This LSU supports load instructions and store instructions of ARM ISA. This LSU keeps away the degradation of SMT by cache miss.

  • In this paper, an ALU for Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT) microprocessors is designed. The SMT architecture improves notably performance and utilization of processes compared with conventional superscalar architectures by executing instructions from multiple threads at the same time. This ALU adopts data bypassing method to process multi-threads. And it can flush instructions in the same thread that generate exceptions such as branch misprediction. interrupt etc, performance of SMT microprocessors with data bypassing and exception handler can be improved.

  • At this research, we examined probability of light bulb's life span value and prediction on purpose to inquire out the span of repeat velocity as fracture probability by executing the fatigue test, which is considered property of Tungsten filament's thermal fatigue used as an automobile bulb. As a result we can confirm what the most suitable solution is weibull distribution and log normal distribution. Tungsten filament's span gets longer as the fatigue repeat velocity gets shorter And, repeat span is about 15%~40% shorter than sequence life span.

  • This study is primarily concerned with the apartment house manager's duty of korea and England. The results are as follows ; 1. In England, detailed duty is prescribed to apartment house managers, where as Korea has not specific prescription. Therefore, we suggest 7 items as the management duty of apartment house manager. Namely, that is inhabitant management, external duty management, business management, account management, estate and public institution management, environment management and safety management. 2. In England, apartment house manager is executing their duty before moving into. But in Korea, their management duty is executed after moving into. There are problems which each of them(inhabitant-user-manager) has plural responsibility.

Dynamic modeling issues for contact tasks of flexible robotic manipulators

  • The nonlinear integro-differential equations of motion of a two-link structurally flexible planar manipulator executing contact tasks are presented. The equations of motion are derived using the extended Hamilton's principle and the Galerkin criterion. Also, Models for the wrist-force sensor and impact that occurs when the manipulator's end point makes contact withthe environment are presented. The dynamic models presented can be used to studythe dynamics of the system and to design controllers.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope a program for statistics education. This program deals with simulation which is helpful in understanding some elementary statistical concepts. This program under multimedia environment which includes sound video animation etc. doesn't show only the result but make it possible for students to execute the program by stages. This type of dynamic learning is efficient to overcome the limits of teaching materials or classroom work. Also it can interest students greatly. By executing it the students can understand the method and meaning of simulation and acquire concepts of probability and statistical inference naturally.
