  • When we measure the acoustical properties of a room using multiple microphone system, it is important to grasp exact time delay of the early reflections from impulse response pair. But it is often very difficult to identify the early reflections in natural shape, because a waveform may be deformed due to the characteristics of a sound source loudspeaker, microphone and reflected wall and overlapping of plural waveform. In this paper to obtain more accurate and enough early reflections, we propose the brand-new five-channel sound receiving system and introduce peak-detecting algorithm. The system has microphones mounted at the origin and four points of a regular tetrahedron. The newly introduced peak-detecting algorithm can show exact peak position in each channel, in spite of deformation due to reflected walls, loudspeaker and microphone.

  • LTCC system has many kinds of advantages, like low loss, low cost of process, stability of process etc. But it is so hard to adjust the characteristics of passives in ceramic module after fabrication. So the exact prediction of behavior of components in high frequency region upper than GHz must be made. In this procedure, the exact measurement is need. In this study, many kinds of measurement Jigs are compared and optimized, and measurement methods of each parameter are designed.

  • Some multidimentional generalizations of the Fokker-Planck Equation used by Friedrich and Peinke for description of a turbulent cascade was solved by A.A.Donkov, A.D.Donkov, and G.I.Grancharova. The solutions are two types, isotropic and anisotropic diffusion case. We introduce their methods to solve the Equation and solutions. Furthermore we get the more generalized exact solution as combination of two cases and plot to compare those to experimental results for the isotropic case.

  • Chi-square test based on large sample theory is inappropriate for testing the row homogeneity in two-way contingency table with several sparse cells. For that case, exact testing methods has been developed in the literature and implemented in StatXact(1991). However, considerable computing time is inevitable for moderate size tables. So, Monte Carlo approximation is recommended frequently. In this study, we propose a simple algorithm for generating two-way random tables with fixed row and column margins for small sample chi-square test. Also, we develop “Turkey-type” method for multiple between-row comparisons.

  • In this paper, we investigate a variational discretization approximation of elliptic optimal control problems with control constraints. The state and the co-state are approximated by piecewise linear functions, while the control is not directly discretized. By using some proper intermediate variables, we derive a second-order convergence in $L^2$-norm and superconvergence between the numerical solution and elliptic projection of the exact solution in $H^1$-norm or the gradient of the exact solution and recovery gradient in $L^2$-norm. Then we construct a posteriori error estimates by using the superconvergence results and do some numerical experiments to confirm our theoretical results.

  • PURPOSES: This paper aims to give a guideline and the way to apply the advanced composite materials theory to the road structures with different cross sections to the practicing engineers. METHODS: To simple but exact method of calculating natural frequencies corresponding to the modes of vibration of road structures with different cross sections and arbitrary boundary conditions. The effect of the $D_{22}$ stiffness on the natural frequency is rigorously investigated. RESULTS: Simple method of vibration analysis for calculating the natural frequency of the different cross sections is presented. CONCLUSIONS: Simple method of vibration analysis for calculating the natural frequency of the different cross sections is presented. This method is a simple but exact method of calculating natural frequencies of the road structures with different cross sections. This method is extended to be applied to two dimensional problems including composite laminated road structures.

  • Structural reanalysis is frequently used to reduce the computational cost during the process of design or optimization. The supports can be regarded as the design variables in various types of structural optimization problems. The location, number, and type of supports may be varied in order to yield a more effective design. The paper is focused on structural static reanalysis problem with added supports where some node displacements along axes of the global coordinate system are specified. A new approach is proposed and exact solutions can be provided by the approach. Thus, it belongs to the direct reanalysis methods. The information from the initial analysis has been fully exploited. Numerical examples show that the exact results can be achieved and the computational time can be significantly reduced by the proposed method.

  • This paper is concerned with the theoretical treatment of transient thermal stresses involving an orthotropic functionally graded thick strip due to nonuniform heat supply in the width direction. The thermal and thermoelastic constants of the strip are assumed to possess orthotropy and vary exponentially in the thickness direction. The transient two-dimensional temperature is analyzed by the methods of Laplace and finite sine transformations. We obtain the exact solution for the simply supported strip under the state of plane strain. Some numerical results for the temperature change, the displacement and the stress distributions are shown in figures. Furthermore, the influence of the orthotropy and nonhomogeneity of the material is investigated.

  • It is presented in this paper that the static output feedback (SOF) pole-assignment problem of some linear time-invariant systems can be completely resolved by parametrization in real Grassmann space. For the real Grassmannian parametrization, the so-called Plucker matrix is utilized as a linear matrix formula formulated from the SOF variable's coefficients of a characteristic polynomial constrained in Grassmann space. It is found that the exact SOF pole assignability is determined by the linear independency of columns of Plucker sub-matrix and by full-rank of that sub-matrix. It is also presented that previous diverse pole-assignment methods and various computation algorithms of the real SOF gains for 2-input, 2-output, 4th order systems are unified in a deterministic way within this real Grassmannian parametrization method.
