기화식 석유버너의 설계기술 향상 연구 (Study on the Enhancement of Design Technology for the Evaporation Pot Type Kerosene Burner)

  • Characteristics of evaporation, flame propagation at moment of ignition and steady state combustion, and flow characteristics of combustible mixture have been investigated by experiments and computational simulation for the evaporation pot type kerosene burner. The results show how to design the evaporation pot in order to minimize the sticking of residual tar, and also indicate that symmetrical flame propagation along the flame ring from the kernel of ignition is achieved by modication of the shape of ignition part. In the case of steady state combustion, the uniform distribustion of flame at each flame hole is accomplished by proper modification of the piping instruments. The improved design of the structure and parts of the kerosene burner make up enhancement of flame stability and considerable reduction of CO and bad smell emission at moment of ignition.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present and discuss some of evaporation and desiccation observed in field experiments. Surface desiccation of dredged material is basically changed by evaporation characteristics which is controlled by weather and ploughing interval, etc. This study shows that ploughing interval is important factors in desiccation of dredged soft clay. A series of field experiments with variation of ploughing interval were carried out to get evaporation effiency and strength increase. In this study, it is proposed that ploughing technique on the total surface area expedites surface desiccation efficiency. Desiccation efficiency is improved when ploughing technique is applied on the surface area.

고온 고압하에서의 DME 연료 분무 및 증발 특성 (Spray and Evaporation Characteristics of DME fuel at the High pressure and temperature)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze spray and evaporation characteristics of DME fuel at the high pressure and temperature. For the numerical analysis of dimethyl ether(DME) fuel spray characteristics, hybrid breakup model was applied to the DME spray and its breakup process. In order to obtain experimental results for comparison with the predicted ones, the visualization of the spray evolution process was executed by using a Nd:YAG laser. Also, the numerical investigation was conducted by the two hybrid models for primary and secondary breakup of the DME spray. The primary breakup model was used the Kelvin-Helmholtz(KH) breakup model. In the secondary breakup process, Rayleigh-Taylor(RT) and Drop Deformation Breakup(DDB) model was applied. The results of this study provide the macroscopic characteristics of the spray such as spray tip penetration and cone angle, and prediction accuracy of the two hybrid model.

지역특성을 고려한 pan 증발량 산정식 평가 (Evaluation of Equations for Estimating Pan Evaporation Considering Regional Characteristics)

  • 지구가 온난화됨에 따라서 발생되는 기후변화는 증발과 같은 수문순환과정에 직접적인 영향을 주는 것으로 보고된 바 있다(IPCC, 2001). 또한 지역특성에 따른 기후변화가 증발에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것은 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 지리지형적 특성을 고려하면서, 연별 pan 증발량을 모의하기 위한 6개 증발식들의 적용성을 비교 검토하였다. 이를 위하여, 전국 56개 연구지역을 지리지형적 특성(도시화율, 해안근접성, 지역 평균경사, 수역면적)에 따라서 분류하고, 기존에 제안된 증발식(Penman, Kohler-Nordenson-Fox(KNF), DeBruin-Keijman, Priestley-Taylor, Hargreaves, Rohwer)을 적용하여 pan 증발량과 비교 검토하였다. 또한 Penman 증발식의 풍속함수를 보정하고 보정된 식의 적용성을 검증하였다. 연구결과에서 KNF식은 가장 pan 증발량과 유사한 결과를 보여서 8.72%의 상대오차를 보였고, 그 다음으로 Penman 식은 8.75%의 상대오차를 보였으며, 반면에 질량이동에 근거한 Rohwer 식이 기장 큰 상대오차(33.47%)를 보였다. 그리고 풍속함수와 풍속과의 상관관계가 높게 나타나는 경우 Penman 식의 풍속함수 보정을 통하여 증발량 산정의 정확도를 높일 수 있었다.

가열된 표면에 고착된 액적의 증발 특성에 관한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Analysis of the Sessile Droplet Evaporation on Heated Surfaces)

  • Droplet evaporation has been known as a common phenomenon in daily life, and it has been widely used for many applications. In particular, the influence of the different heated substrates on evaporation flux and flow characteristics is essential in understanding heat and mass transfer of evaporating droplets. This study aims to simulate the droplet evaporation process by considering variation of thermal property depending on the substrates and the surface temperature. The commercial program of ANSYS Fluent (V.17.2) is used for simulating the conjugated heat transfer in the solid-liquid-vapor domains. Moreover, we adopt the diffusion-limited model to predict the evaporation flux on the different heated substrates. It is found that the evaporation rate significantly changes with the increase in substrate temperature. The evaporation rate substantially varies with different substrates because of variation of thermal property. Also, the droplet evaporates more rapidly as the surface temperature increases owing to an increase in saturation vapor pressure as well as the free convection effect caused by the density gradient.

단일액적 어유의 증발과 착화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaporation and Ignition of Single Fish Oil Droplet)

  • In this paper, to percuss whether fish oil can substitute for marine fuel oil, the characteristics on the evaporation and ignition of 3 fish oils, Sardine oil, File fish oil and Alaska pollac oil, were investigated experimentally by suspending single fish oil droplel in hot atmosphere, and experiments on methanol and light oil were also carried out to compare the characteristics. The results abtained are summarized as follow; 1) Evaporation and ignition phenomena on the methanol and light oil by the present experimental method agreeded with the results of the earlier investigation. 2) The characteristic on evaporation and ignition of all 3 fish oils took the same pattern; in late stage of evaporation at atmospheric Temperature 55$0^{\circ}C$ droplet rapidly expanded and contracted, and then remained solid corbide, but in case of $650^{\circ}C$ rapidly expanded and ignitied, and then completly burned non-remained solid carbide. 3) As fish oil mixed with light oil (50% weight), in beginning stage of evaporation droplet depended on the characteristics of light oil, but in end stage depended on fish oil. 4) Ignition temperature of fish oil droplets was about 47$0^{\circ}C$, higher than about 25$0^{\circ}C$ of light oil, but atmospheric temperature to ignite droplet was about $650^{\circ}C$, lower than about 75$0^{\circ}C$ of light oil.

수평 다채널관 내 이산화탄소의 증발 열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on characteristics of evaporation heat transfer of $CO_2$ in horizontal micro-channel tube)

  • In order to investigate the variation on a heat transfer coefficient during evaporation of $CO_2$, basic experiment on the evaporation heat transfer characteristics in a horizontal micro-channel tube was performed. Hydraulic diameters of micro-channels were 0.68 and 1.46 mm. The experiment apparatus consisted of a test section, a DC power supply, a heater, a chiller, a mass flow meter, a pump and a measurement system. Experiments were conducted for various mass fluxes of 300 to 800 kg/$m^2s$, heat fluxes of 10 to 40 kW/$m^2$ and saturation temperatures of -5 to 5$^{\circ}C$. With the increase heat flux, the evaporation heat transfer coefficient increased. And the significantly change of the heat transfer coefficient was observed at any heat flux and mass flux. As the saturation temperature increased and the hydraulic diameter decreased, the heat transfer coefficient increased.

마이크로핀관에서 프로판과 이소부탄의 증발 열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (Evaporation Heat Transfer Characteristics of Propane and Iso-butane in Micro-fin Tubes)

  • 본 연구는 마이크로핀관에서 이소부탄과 프로판의 증발 열전달 특성에 대해 실험적으로 조사하였다. 시험부는 외경 12.70 mm이고, 높이가 0.25 mm인 75개 핀이 원주방향으로 삽입되어 있다. 실험결과, 탄화수소계 냉매의 평균 열전달계수는 프레온계 냉매인 HCFC22보다 높을 것으로 나타났고, 높은 질랑유속에서는 이소부탄 > 프로판 순으로 나타났다. 마이크로핀관에서 증발 열전달 계수는 평활관에 비해 약 $80{\sim}100%$ 정도가 향상되었다. 이러한 본 연구 결과로부터 탄화수소계 냉매를 냉동 공조 시스템의 냉매로 사용하여 열교환장치를 설계할 경우에는 유리하리라 생각된다.

급속압축장치에서 탄소 나노입자가 첨가된 연료 액적의 증발 및 연소 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Evaporation and Combustion Characteristics of Fuel Droplet with Carbon Nano-Particles in RCM)

  • Evaporation and combustion characteristics of fuel droplet with carbon nanoparticle were investigated in a rapid compression machine(RCM). RCM is an experimental equipment to simulate one compression stroke of reciprocating engine. Nitrogen was charged into reaction chamber for evaporation experiment, while oxygen was charged for combustion experiment. N990 carbon black and n-heptane were used to synthesize the carbon nanofluids. Surfactant, span80, was used to make synthesis easier. The droplet pictures were taken using a high speed camera with 500 frames per second. Thermocouple, of which tip is $50{\mu}m$, was used not only to measure transient bulk temperature, but also to suspend the droplet. Reaction chamber temperature was calculated from pressure data. The evaporation rate of nanofluids was improved compared to pure fuel. The ignition delay was promoted due to the nanoparticle, but the burning rate was decreased.
