  • RSA is one of the best well-known public key cryptosystems. This methodology is widely used at present because there is not any algorithm which can break this system that has all strong parameters within polynomial time. However, it may be easily broken when at least one parameter is weak. In fact, many weak parameters are already found and are solved by some algorithms. Some examples of weak parameters consist of a small private key, a large private key, a small prime factor and a small result of the difference between two prime factors. In this paper, the new weakness of RSA is proposed. Assuming Euler's totient value, Φ (n), can be rewritten as Φ (n) = ad + b, where d is the private key and a, b ∈ ℤ, if a divides both of Φ (n) and b and the new exponent for the decryption equation is a small integer, this condition is assigned as the new weakness for breaking RSA. Firstly, the specific algorithm which is created for this weakness directly is proposed. Secondly, two equations are presented to find a, b and d. In fact, one of two equations must be implemented to find a and b at first. After that, the other equation is chosen to find d. The experimental results show that if this weakness has happened and the new exponent is small, original plaintext, m, will be recovered very fast. Furthermore, number of steps to recover d are very small when a is large. However, if a is too large, d may not be recovered because m which must be always written as m = ha is higher than modulus.

  • Due to the diversified use of recent Piezoelectric Zirconate Titanate Composite Actuate. (PZTCA), various PZTCAs with the different ply orientation of the fiber layer have been applied. For this reason, the applicable bending moment equation is necessary even though the fiber layer ply orientation and the laminate configuration are changed. The aim of this research is to evaluate the relationship between the total effective moment $(M^E)$ and Bernoulli-Euler bending moment (M) when the ply orientations of UD CFRP are changed. In conclusions, firstly, as the performance test results by the CFRP ply orientation, the performance of [0] and [90] were stable. However, while the performance of [+45] was suddenly decreased after 5 hours. Secondly, the change of $(M^E)$ by the CFRP ply orientation was evaluated. As the CFRP ply orientation was increased from [0] to [+60], the $(M^E)$ were gradually decreased. However, they became a little bit increased from [+60] to [90]. Finally, after the change of M by the CFRP ply orientation was evaluated, it was found that $M^E=2.2M$ was valid for just [0] and that there was a relationship between $M^E$ and M according to the ply orientation.

  • Rotating beams play a crucial role in representing complex mechanical components that are prevalent in vital sectors like energy and transportation industries. These components are susceptible to the initiation and propagation of cracks, posing a substantial risk to their structural integrity. This study presents a two-stage methodology for detecting the location and estimating the size of an open-edge transverse crack in a rotating Euler-Bernoulli beam with a uniform cross-section. Understanding the dynamic behavior of beams is vital for the effective design and evaluation of their operational performance. In this regard, modal parameters such as natural frequencies and eigenmodes are frequently employed to detect and identify damages in mechanical components. In this instance, the Frobenius method has been employed to determine the first two natural frequencies and corresponding eigenmodes associated with flapwise bending vibration. These calculations have been performed by solving the governing differential equation that describes the motion of the beam. Various parameters have been considered, such as rotational speed, beam slenderness, hub radius, and crack size and location. The effect of the crack has been replaced by a rotational spring whose stiffness represents the increase in local flexibility as a result of the damage presence. In the initial phase of the proposed methodology, a damage index utilizing the slope of the beam's eigenmode has been employed to estimate the location of the crack. After detecting the presence of damage, the size of the crack is determined using a Genetic Algorithm optimization technique. The ultimate goal of the proposed methodology is to enable the development of more suitable and reliable maintenance plans.

  • An inverse approach is presented for calculating the flexibility coefficient of open-side cracks in the cross sectional of beams. The cracked cross section is treated as a massless rotational spring which connects two segments of the beam. Based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, the differential equation governing the forced vibration of each segment of the beam is written. By using a mathematical manipulation the time dependent differential equations are transformed into the static substitutes. The crack characteristics are then introduced to the solution of the differential equations via the boundary conditions. By having the time history of transverse response of an arbitrary location along the beam, the flexibility coefficient of crack is calculated. The method is applied for some cracked beams with solid rectangular cross sections and the results obtained are compared with the available data in literature. The comparison indicates that the predictions of the proposed method are in good agreement with the reported data. The procedure is quite general so as to it can be applicable for both single-side crack and double-side crack analogously. Hence, it is also applied for some test beams with double-side cracks.

  • This paper presents a simplified dynamics model, dynamics simulations, and computed torque control experiments of the Delta high-speed parallel robot. Using the typical Newton-Euler method, a simplified but accurate dynamics model with practical assumptions is derived. Accuracy and fast calculations of the dynamics are essential in the computed torque control for high-speed applications. It was found that the simplified dynamics equation is in very god agreement with the ADAMS model, and the calculation time of the inverse kinematics and inverse dynamics is about 0.04 msec. From the dynamics simulations, the cycle trajectory along the y-axis requires less peak motor torque and a lower angular velocity and less power than that along the x-axis. The computed torque control scheme can reduce the position error by half as compared to a PD control scheme. Finally, the developed Delta parallel robot prototype, half the size of the ABB Flexpicker robot, can achieve a cycle time of 0.43 sec with a 1.0kg payload.

  • The electromagnetic field can cause an essential change of the dynamic behavior of the railgun. The evaluation of the dynamics performance of railgun is a mandatory task. Here, a nonlinear electromagnetic force equation of the railgun is given in which the clearance, the thickness and the width of the rail are considered. Based on it, the nonlinear electromechanical coupled dynamics equations of Euler beam rails for the railgun are proposed. Using the equations, the nonlinear free vibration frequency of the railgun is investigated and the effects of the system parameters on the frequency are analyzed. The nonlinear forced responses of the rail to the electromagnetic excitation are investigated as well. The results show that as the nonlinearity of the railgun system is considered, the vibration frequencies of the railgun system increase; as the current in the rail increases, the difference between the natural frequencies and the nonlinear vibration frequencies increases significantly; the nonlinearity of the railgun system is more obvious for smaller distance between the two rails, smaller rail thickness, and smaller stiffness of the elastic foundation; the unstable dynamics state of the rail system occurs when the armature runs to the exit of the railgun. The results are useful for design and application of the railgun system.

  • Boundary condition is one of the major factors to influence the numerical stability and solution accuracy in numerical analysis. One of the most important physical boundary conditions in the flowfield analysis is the wall boundary condition imposed on the body surface. To solve a two-dimensional Euler equation, totally four numerical wall boundary conditions should be prescribed. Two of them are supplied by the flow tangency condition. The other two conditions, therefore, should be prepared additionally in a suitable way. In this paper, four different sets of wall boundary conditions are proposed and then applied to solve high-speed flowfields around a quarter circle geometry. A two-dimensional compressible Euler solver is prepared based on the finite volume method. This solver hires three different upwind schemes; Steger-Warmings flux vector splitting, Roes flux difference splitting, and Lious advection upstream splitting method. It is found that the way to specify the additional numerical wall boundary conditions strongly affects the overall stability and accuracy of the upwind schemes in high-speed flow calculation. The optimal wall boundary conditions should be also chosen very carefully depending on the numerical schemes used to solve the problem.

  • Functionally graded material (FGM) illustrates a novel class of composites that consists of a graded pattern of material composition. FGM is engineered to have a continuously varying spatial composition profile. Current work focused on buckling analysis of beam made of stepwise linear and quadratic graded material in axial direction subjected to axial span-load with piecewise function and rested on shear layer based on classical beam theory. The various boundary and natural conditions including simply supported (S-S), pinned - clamped (P-C), axial hinge - pinned (AH-P), axial hinge - clamped (AH-C), pinned - shear hinge (P-SHH), pinned - shear force released (P-SHR), axial hinge - shear force released (AH-SHR) and axial hinge - shear hinge (AH-SHH) are considered. To the best of the author's knowledge, buckling behavior of this kind of Euler-Bernoulli beams has not been studied yet. The equilibrium differential equation is derived by minimizing total potential energy via variational calculus and solved analytically. The boundary conditions, natural conditions and deformation continuity at concentrated load insertion point are expressed in matrix form and nontrivial solution is employed to calculate first buckling loads and corresponding mode shapes. By increasing truncation order, the relative error reduction and convergence of solution are observed. Fast convergence and good compatibility with various conditions are advantages of the proposed method. A MATLAB code is provided in appendix to employ the numerical procedure based on proposed method.

  • In this study, a transfer matrix method in which can produce an infinite number of accurate natural frequencies using a single element for the bending vibration of rotating Bernoulli-Euler beam with linearly reduced width, is developed. The roots of the differential equation in the proposed method are calculated using the Frobenius method in the power series solution. To demonstrate the accuracy of the method, the calculated natural frequencies are compared with the results given by using the commercial finite element analysis program(ANSYS), and the comparison results between these two methods show the excellent agreement. Based on the comparison results, a parametric study is performed to investigate the effect of the centrifugal forces on the non-dimensional natural frequencies for rotating beam with the variable width.
