This paper discusses an important dimension of the globalization of science by investigating the lived experiences of nineteen expatriate scientists in six institutions in South Korea. Although much has been written on the globalization and science, few works have dealt with scientific experts? migration across national borders in contemporary contexts. In this regard, the lives of foreign science professors in Korea offer an interesting case, as they illustrate how the ideas of global science both clash with and appropriate Korea?s local practices and discourses. I argue that the globality of science is a main factor that fosters the continued Korean stay of many foreign scientists, who manage and appropriate what is entailed in this globality, namely, Korea?s perceived status as a peripheral country in the dynamics between "center" and "periphery." This includes several strategies and unintended situations differing according to each foreign scientist?s ethnic origins, professional experiences, and institutional circumstances, which lead them to make sense of their continued stay in Korea.

This paper shows a theoretical-reflective analysis on the importance of vocational training and value education to transition into models that are inclusive in cultural diversity, typical of the globalized and hyperconnected environment of modern societies. Interculturality is contextualized as a key element in linking teaching-learning processes with the uniqueness and problems associated with cultural ethnocentrism and alterity. In this sense, the work is part of a thematic review that contributes to the understanding, inclusion and recognition of cultural, racial and ethnic diversity in the different formal spaces of learning. As summary, value education and transversality are the basis for building educational interculturality in future generations.

Modern male has displayed an increased desire to express their social influence and image, and the male fashion market has had to provide various styles and images to fill these needs. The current domestic menswear market, however, is unable to satisfy the needs of male consumers who have a need for diversity in a rapidly changing society; more segmented fashion images and styles are needed. The purposes of this study are to classify fashion images and to establish character of the types. This study was done by performing a literature review and a survey. This study proposed 10 categories of fashion style images. Men's fashion style is classified into the classic image, sophisticated image, urban casual image, chic modern image, mods modern image, basic casual image, ethnic image, avant-garde image, active & outdoor image, and street-kitsch image. In the case of the classic images, common in formal setting, men's formal wear is the main focus with the classic suit. The sophisticated image is that of a colorful formal wear seasoned with elegance. Urban casual image is contemporary image, and therefore is meant for city life wear. Chic and modern image conveys an urban image by seeking a simple and chic feel. Mods modern image is retro yet dandy, giving off a sense of youthfulness compared to the other classic images. Ethnic image expresses the exotic quality of folklore as the main representatives of the character casual wear. Avant garde image portrays strong character casual wear with oversized silhouettes or exaggerated details. Active & Outdoor image is leisure life wear conveying active, functional images. Street Kitsch image is men's street casual wear with graphic patterns such as pop art and graffiti. This study's significance lies in its presentation of fashion style data, which can be utilized in the design and marketing of fashion targeted to males.

본 논문은 다양한 소수민족으로 구성된 중국의 가장 대표적 소수민족인 내몽고자치구의 몽고족을 중심으로 그들의 문화상징에 대한 인식과 민족 정체성 확립을 위한 문화상징요소를 설문조사를 통해 체계적으로 정립하여 향후 몽고족의 대외 홍보 및 디자인에 응용 가능한 학제적 기초를 마련하고자한다. 본 논문은 객관적 자료를 위해 몽고족 및 타민족 300명을 대상으로 설문조사 하였으며 그 결과 대부분 몽고족은 소수민족임에 자부심을 느끼고 있으며 소수민족을 대표하는 민족이라 인식하고 있다. 몽고족의 민족성은 사회성이 높고 장식하기 좋아하는 심미성이 있으며, 창의성, 신뢰성, 진취성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 문화상징의 디자인요소 선호도에서는 색상은 청색, 문양은 성길사한의 인물 문양, 재질은 마노를 선호하였으며 상징의미는 평화가 가장 높았다. 문화상징 활용은 축제 때 가장 많이 사용하는 것으로 나타났으며 의류에 가장 많이 적용되는 것으로 파악 되었다. 이런 문화상징을 내몽고의 정체성 확립 및 홍보를 위해 적극 사용해야 한다는 의견이 높았다. 몽고족 문화상징의 체계적 정립은 몽고족의 민족 정체성을 확립하는 중요한 일로, 민족적 의미와 문화적 사명 아래 민족문화자원과 잘 결합되어 소수민족문화의 발전에 도움이 될 뿐만 아니라 소수민족으로서 자부심을 고취시킬 것이다.

오늘날 대중들이 만드는 일반적인 화단의 형태나 식물 가꾸기 및 가드닝 활동은 영국의 코티지 가든(Cottage Garden)의 원형에서 찾아 볼 수 있다. 코티지 가든은 근대 영국에서 발생된 대중적 정원양식으로 민속성(Ethnic sense), 토착성(Vernacular)을 비롯하여 특유의 영국성(Englishness)을 함축하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 지난 200여 년 간의 영국의 근대적 움직임을 살펴보고 이러한 과정 속에 출현한 코티지 가든의 발생 배경과 그 특징 고찰하여 코티지 가든이 내포하고 있는 영국성을 읽어 내고자 하는데 그 목적을 두며, 다음과 같이 요약될 수 있다. 첫째, 자유와 풍경을 사랑하는 영국인의 자연관은 애국주의 핵심요소로 작동하여 전원적 잉글랜드의 보존과 연결된다. 이러한 시골에 대한 영국인들의 이상(Ideal)은 다양한 문학 및 예술적 산물로부터 영국인의 전원성을 발견할 수 있으며, 식물수집과 공급의 활성화와 함께 새로운 정원의 형태인 코티지 가든을 발생케 했다. 둘째, 초기 코티지 가든의 형태는 도시화에 따른 중산계층의 교외 이주로 인하여 채원이 존재하는 자급농원의 형태로 이루어졌으나, 다양한 근대사회의 상황과 맞물려(공예진흥 운동, 유적보호 및 고건물복구운동) 예술성과 지역성, 토착성, 생태성을 겸비한 정원의 형태로 진화되었다. 이러한 과정에서 발생된 와일드가든은 영국의 야생들판과 숲을 재현한 정원으로 현재에 이르기까지 많은 정원디자이너들에게 큰 영향을 주고 있다. 이러한 다양한 영국성이 투영된 코티지 가든은 도시계획, 플라워쇼의 주제로 등장하며, 영국을 상징하는 문화로 존재한다.

본 논의는 변화와 개혁의 시기였던 1990년대 중국조선족 문학의 쟁점들을 시문학 비평을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 중국의 개혁개방 이후의 사회적 변화는 조선족문학이 기존의 문예 이론이나 문학적 경향에서 탈피하여 새로움을 추구하는 동시에 존립의 방향과 정체성을 재점검하는 계기가 되었다. 본고는 "문학과 예술", "장백산"에 실린 비평들을 통해 이 시기 조선족문학의 상황과 시대적 문제의식 그리고 그들이 추구한 방향성은 무엇이었는지에 주목해보았다. 사회 문화적 개방화의 물결 속에서 조선족 비평가들은 비평의 위기와 극복 방안에 대해 논의를 진행했다. 사회주의 리얼리즘적 창작 방법을 추구했던 기존의 작품들과 달리 변화하는 현실과 그것을 반영한 작품들을 보면서 평단은 비평의 역량을 강화하기 위해 무엇보다 지식과 이론의 수용이 필요하다는 점을 제기했다. 이런 움직임은 사회주의 문예이론을 완전히 탈피하고자 하는 것은 아니었지만 비평의 질적 발전을 위해 다양한 이론의 섭수가 중요하다는 점이 강조되었다. 그리고 새로운 비평 이론에 대한 갈망과 요구는 시문학 비평에서 현대성에 관한 논의로 이어졌다. 비평가들은 문예지를 통해 서구의 문예이론을 소개하는 한편, 포스트모더니즘이나 탈이데올로기적 추세를 비판적으로 수용하며 조선족문학이 추구해야 하는 현대성이란 무엇인가에 대해 방향을 모색했다. 조선족문학의 현대성 논의는 조선족의 문화적 전통 및 특수성을 보여줄 수 있는 문화정체성 형상화에 대한 모색으로 이어졌다. 한편 조선족 비평은 민족문화와 민족정신을 계승하고자 하는 목표 아래 세계 문학과의 교류와 소통을 제기하기도 했다. 비평가들은 세계 문학과 공감할 수 있는 문학의 보편성을 획득하는 동시에 조선족 민족문화의 특수성을 형상화하고자 했다. 남영전의 토템시는 그러한 노력의 성공적인 결과물이라 할 수 있다. 1990년대 조선족 비평은 조선족문학만이 아니라 조선족 사회의 위기 앞에서 균열과 해체의 시대를 극복하는 방안을 제시하고자 노력했다. 이런 조선족 비평의 움직임은 중국이나 북한, 한국과 차별화되는 한글문학의 한 주체로서의 가능성을 보여주었다는 점에서 그 의의를 지닌다.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the most appropriate design concepts for sportive fashion product based on the analysis of consumers' acceptance of the recent sportive fashion trends according to their lifestyle. The subjects consisted of 295 males and females, between 17 and 35 year-old. A self-report questionnaire with 4 stimuli was employed for data gathering, and the data were analyzed by the methods of frequency, factor analysis, cluster analysis, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results of this study were summarized as follows: For the First, the recent sportive fashion trends were categorized into four groups; 'street- sportive' trend, 'futuristic-sportive' trend, 'ethnic-sportive' trend and 'urban-utility sportive' trend. Secondly, based on the result of cluster analysis on consumers' lifestyle, total four consumer groups were identified; 'pursuing sense' group, 'pursuing culture' group, 'pursuing utility' group, and 'indifference' group. Thirdly, the consumers relatively preferred two sportive styles among the four groups, typically representing 'urban-utility' trend and 'street' trend. The typical 'urban-utility' style was particularly preferred by the consumers who desired to express themselves as urban, modern, and luxurious. The typical 'street' style was preferred by the consumers who tried to express themselves as active and fashionable. Finally, preferences of the sportive trends according to consumers' lifestyle were interpreted as follows: the 'pursuing sense' group relatively preferred 'urbanutility' style and 'street' style, the 'pursuing culture' group preferred 'street' style and the 'pursuing utility' group preferred 'urban-utility' style, meaningwhile the 'indifference' group preferred 'street' style and 'urban- utility' style.

The Expressionism took shape in the early twentieth century, so called as the time of change and innovation which intermediated between the time of extreme prosperity and peace and the time of disruption. This study is based on the wide sense of Expressionism out of various concepts of Expressionism. The afore-mentioned phenomenon was emphasized all the more in the French Expressionism and it is the most important and substantial object in the Art to make a direct transference of emotion , feeling and thought and it could be regarded as one of characteristics of the French Expressionism . In Addition, the Expressionism produced " Aesthetics on Ugliness "Aesthetics des H lichen )" in creating work of art. It was an expression of the Existentialism based on Humanism for modern people who lived at time of nihility and such artistic movement accepted polarity and ambivalance concepts claimed by Nietzsche into three specific fields in accordance with thought and technique in the work of art and those are the Intuitional Expressionism. Cubistic Expressionism and Fantastic Expressionism. This study makes a close analysis of costume style trends on the basis of the categorized Expressionism enumerated as above. The characteristics of Intuitional Expressionism is that poverty and a sense of alienation dominated all society and thus the social reality brought a trend of social participation . This social reality effected significantly modern costume style and a reformative costume turned up at last . This reformative costume was classified into Gar onne look, Military look and Lingerie look by characteristics of style in order to make a close examination for the relationship between social reality and the reformative structure. Cubistic Expressionism effected costume forming and changed costume style through " Deformation " and " Distortion" in forming technique , and also it has developed geometrical style of costume, which could be symbolized by mechanism. And on the other hand, this Cubistic Expressionism has emphasized exaggerated expression ability to produce rigid and stiff style of costume. Fantastic Expression pursued basic artistic worth from the primitive and ethnic customs and accepted fantastic oriental Exoticism . This Fantastic Expressionism effected costume style of twentieh century and such designers as Lon Bakst, Paul Poiret, Elsa Schiapareli adopted intentive primary color. It also applied " Depaysment" to modern costume style , which introduced avant-garde design to give an impact through destruction of the existing traditional concept. This study also analized seven major representative costume designers of the early twentieth century. They are L on Bakst, Paul Poiret, Madeline Vionnet, JeanPatou, Gabriel Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli. These designers deployed creative costume design work with peculiar expression technique based on the French expressionism. The costume study related to art history was so far made mostly to approach costume forming but only a few study is found to have approached idealistic background of art history in connection with creating costume. From that point of view, it is profoundly significant for this study to analize idealistic background and characteristics of Expressionism and relationship between costume and expressionism and to examine modern costume of twntieth century in conjunction with technical characteristics and spiritual sense of Expresionism.eristics and spiritual sense of Expresionism.

This study for‘Head Image’, which is affected by individual Image, is via fashion collection to analyze formative feature, fashion emotion and meaning structure of emotion and to inquire into correlation. I will offer fundamental data, which is can use Image making from the state of thing. First, to make charm and personal image, if we consider Head image well, it will very effective by the reason that personality and charm operate as important factors in fashion sensibility of Head Image. Second, we can know Head Image has more strong influence the part of emotion than fashion sensibility by showing that the sense of emotion is higher than this point of view of fashion sensibility in Head Image. Third, As a result of the correlation of fashion sensibility and emotion in Head Image, personal Head Image is effective to attract public gaze by causing negative emotion, and attractive Head Image is effective to give pleasant feeling by causing positive emotion. Forth, Avant-garde, Punk, Kitsch Image were estimated as the most personal things and Romantic, Ethnic Image were estimated as the most attractive things of the type of Head Image. Natural Image was estimated as the most feminine thing, and Elegant Image was estimated as the most mature thing. Fifth, when we look into the different appraisals between experts and amateurs about fashion sensibility and emotion of Head Image, a selection of experts are used to peculiar and strong Head Image, so amateurs respond it more sensitively and highly evaluate.

The Multi-cultural Family Support Center provides various educational programs and services for multi-cultural families. However, there are controversies regarding integration and assimilation, ethnic identity and ethnocentrism, and state-sponsored multi-culturalism. From the home economist's perspective, it was necessary to explore the direction of integration of family life culture in the multi-cultural society. This study concluded that there is a necessity to accept foreign culture and create a new culture while still maintaining their and our own cultural identity respectively. For this purpose, integration and assimilation must progress side by side to maintain the cultural identity and stability of multi-cultural families. But, women migrants are to adapt in their everyday life, they need to attend a Korean-language course and take part in a traditional Korean culture program such as having an assimilational characteristics. Also for the happiness of multi-cultural families ultimately not for the confronted problems, it requires sometimes education of changing migrants' own traditional customs and life culture partly. In this sense, educational and cultural programs held by Multi-Cultural Family Support Center are meaningful and their importance in adapting into everyday life must be recognised by all of us.
