Anterior maxillary teeth play an important role in determining a person's first impression and facial profile. Implant surgery in esthetic area requires more careful diagnosis, treatment planning, surgery, and prosthetic restoration than in posterior area. To avoid complications in surgery and prosthetic restoration for implants in esthetic area, accurate diagnosis and appropriate case selection become very important. If you have decided to restore the area with implant prosthesis, you have to know exactly where to place an implant. I will discuss the ideal implant position in terms of mesio-distally, apico-coronally, labio-palatally, and implant angulation. And I would like to point out the selection of fixture diameter & length for anterior implant. Finally, a clinical implant prosthesis case in maxillary central incisor will be shown. In conclusion, for superior esthetic outcome in anterior implant prostheses, we must understand the patient's anatomic condition and know our ability.

To be successful in aesthetic prosthetic treatment, the crown part aesthetic (White Esthetic) and the tissue part aesthetic (Pink Esthetic) must be well controlled. Clinically, white esthetics are the area of dental technicians and pink esthetics are the area of dentists, but a deeper understanding of counterparts can produce more successful results. In this paper, I will briefly describe this process.

Esthetic demands for dental treatment are increasing every day. The interdisciplinary relationship of the restorative treatment, periodontal therapy and other treatments such as endodontics, orthodontics and so on is more emphasized nowadays to reconstruct the hard and soft tissue foundation for the esthetic restorative treatment. This article will focus on the periodontal plastic surgery for esthetic restorative treatment. These followings will be discussed. 1. Understand the relationship between teeth and gingival scaffold for esthetics 2. Discuss the classification and treatment of gummy smile 3. Recognize the gingival margin irregularities by gingival recession and how to achieve the harmonic soft tissue margins 4. describe the hard and soft tissue augmentation for ridge augmentation.

Recently as the interest on Esthetic Dental Prosthesis is arising, the domains of Esthetic Dentistry is being widely investigated. Esthetic Dental Prosthesis is influenced greatly by the shape, color, tooth arrangement of the teeth and the facial features(including the lips). So the degree to which these characters harmonize will be the professional esthetical standard while the satisfaction of the patient will be another esthetical measure. The reason for this is that each and every one of us has a different standard of what is considered beautiful. Of course it doesn't mean that every standard is correct. Then what does Esthetical Prosthesis mean and what should the standard be? This must be defined as a prosthesis that satisfies the basic requirements - margin, contour, occlusion, and at the same time it should restore the shape, color, and tooth arrangement which the client(patient) would love to have. As Esthetic Prosthesis contains its subjective meaning a great deal, it shouldn't be simply distinguished between the beauty of the teeth itself or ugliness. Also in some case, it needs surgical treatment to make it harmonious in the whole aspect so that one may keep the feeling of satisfaction and security. Then what is the shape, color, tooth arrangement that each individual wants? There is an indefinite variety. For example, considering arrangement both regular and irregular is considered beautiful by each different individual. Regular arrangement may be the standard of beauty for some, while irregular arrangement may be thought of as natural looking and beautiful. That is why there must be enough communication with the patient and an agreement be made at the clinic before a diagnostic plan and actual surgery. The treatment plan as mentioned above must be sent to the dental laboratory. In this research, by using case studies, I am going to the importance and appropriateness of the data and information for the dental technician's esthetic prosthesis.

The most valuable site of laser treatment is analgesic effect and fast healing process. If we understand an use this advantage correctly, it will helpful in relationship with patients and hospital management. So this study reported clinical cases about laser used in esthetic treatment with literature review. Periodontal treatment using laser was taken for patient who complain about gingival swelling during orthodontic treatment. And, esthetic plastic treatment using laser for alveoar reduction was taken for patient who complained about esthetic problem of maxillary gingiva. The treatment using laser can shorten the inconvenience and complicated treatment process and minimize patient's fear and discomfort during treatment procedure. So patients and clinicians can expect competent result in clinical cases. The laser for esthetic treatment was valuable.

To improve esthetics and gain beautiful smile, the maxillary anterior dentition is crucial. Through alteration of height, arrangement or color of the maxillary incisor, we can rehabilitate the esthetic smile. The perception of dental esthetics is highly subjective. Personal perceptions or judgement of dental esthetics is highly related with each individual's experience and social and cultural environment. However, there have been many efforts to establish the criteria for generally accepted esthetic norm, in order to increase the predictability of restorative treatment. For maxillary anterior restoration, not only a single tooth, but also the compositions around tooth such as facial form, lips and gum and their relationships have to be considered to create harmonious smile. It can be determined as esthetic restorations when in consonance with facial form and structures that frame the restorations. In this review article, several guidelines that are generally accepted and useful to assess the esthetics and communicate with patients and technicians will be discussed.

After extraction of tooth, alveolar ridge resorption is inevitable in most cases. Clinicians confront with horizontal and vertical resorption of alveolar bone. Without massive amount of bone and soft tissue graft, dental implant will be placed apically to gain stability. In those cases, not only white esthetic part, but also pink esthetic part should be restored with pink porcelain. The margin of prosthesis should be located apically to reproduce natural look with adjacent teeth. However, when the margin is located apically, it is always hard to remove remaining cement, thus complications may arise. In this report, a novel design of implant prosthesis is introduced to solve those issues. The novel design is consisted of zirconia framework with pink porcelain and separate crowns on top of the framework. It eliminates the possibility of cement remnants by bringing the crown margin coronally. Pink esthetic part is incorporated in abutment part instead of crown part and the screw hole is covered with separate crowns.

If orthodontists and restorative dentists establish the interdisciplinary approach to esthetic dentistry, the esthetic and functional outcome of their combined efforts will be greatly enhanced. This article describes satisfying esthetic results obtained by the distribution of space for restoration by orthodontic treatment and porcelain laminate veneers in uneven space between maxillary anterior teeth. It is proposed that the use of orthodontic treatment for re-distribution of the space and the use of porcelain laminate veneers to alter crown anatomy provide maximum esthetic and functional correction for patients with irregular interdental spacing.

There is a difficulty for many practioner in anterior direct restroation with composit resin. Because its result is various according to patient, a practioner have a fear about that unpromisable result. Moreover in esthetic region, there is difference in satisfaction by patient character. That is one of difficulty in this practice. But if we make a manual for parctice it will be easier. So I will summarize the process and things to note in direct anterior composite resin restoration.

The causes of excessive gingival display vary, and treatment methods differ depending on the cause. Here, we will discuss how to treat gingiva and alveolar bone in the event of excessive covering of the tooth surface. This is the most common cause of gummy smile and I will systematically explain the treatment protocol and guideline based on my clinical experience.
