Objective : Nutrient Qi, Blood Qi and Essencial Qi are the most significant qi in spleen, liver and kidney. However, the origins and functions of those qi are not quite detailed somehow. Method : I will try to find out the origins and functions of Nutrient Qi, Blood Qi and Essencial Qi through "Hwangdineijing". Result : The Nutrient Qi is the essence of spleen, Blood Qi is the essence of liver and Essencial Qi is the essence of kidney. Conclusion : The Nutrient Qi has function of nourishment in human body and digestion of water and food in spleen itself. The Blood Qi has a function to make each organ work in human body and to make free coursing in liver itself. Essential Qi has a function to store each essential qi of five viscera in human body and reproduction in kidney itself.

키트 파인의 영향력 있는 논문, Essence and Modality(1994) 이후 많은 철학자들은 양상주의, 즉 본질적 속성을 양상성, 특히 데 레(de re) 필연성 개념을 통해서 분석하려는 시도의 전망에 대해서 의심해왔다. 그러나 몇몇 철학자들은 여전히 양상주의의 옹호 가능성을 진지하게 고려하고 있다. 이 논문에서 필자들은 어떤 종류의 불가능한 가능성 개념을 통해서 양상주의를 키트 파인의 반례들로부터 옹호하려는 두 개의 시도를 검토한다. 필자들은 이런 시도들이 결국 키트 파인의 이론과 크게 다르지 않은 이론이 되거나, 아니면 고전적인 양상주의가 포착하려고 했던 본질 개념과는 상당히 다른 본질 개념으로 이끌어지는 문제를 갖는다는 것을 논증한다. 필자들은 따라서, 파인의 입장에서 볼 때, 이런 시도들은 별로 두려워할 필요가 없는 시도가 될 것이라는 것을 주장한다.

The sales volume of men's cosmetics has drastically increased in Korea. In recent years, men's needs for cosmetics have been diversified and the consumer demand for functional cosmetics has greatly risen. In particular, male consumers have become more interested in essence product that is a light and concentrated treatment to correct skin problems. This research analyzes consumer preferences for essence-for-men through the use of choice-based conjoint analysis. This approach is adopted since the task of respondents to choose the most preferred option from several alternatives closely mimics actual marketplace purchasing behavior by consumers. New technique for the construction of choice sets is suggested based on the balanced incomplete block design, to accommodate a larger number of product profiles. The proposed design for choice sets is balanced and provides a tool to filter the contradictory choices. Conjoint analyses are performed to assess the relative importance of attributes and identify the most preferred profile of essence-for-men with respect to attributes such as emphasized function, price, type of content, and design of container. Some differences are indicated in the analysis results between age brackets as well as between groups classified by the amount of fashion item expenditures.

Medical science is an area of study that focuses on maintaining health and treating disease. However, modern medicine focuses on treating disease and neglects methodology of maintaining health. Although the definition of heal this defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) and as the concept of harmonizing Yin and Yang in Korean medicine, there is no specific details regarding the definition. Thus, the following conclusion was obtained after the concept of health is viewed through Yin-Yang(陰陽), Vital Essence(精), Qi(氣), and Healthy Person(平人). Although Yin and Yang have opposite properties, they work very closely, maintaining the overall balance and harmony. Secondly, Vin and Yang would each function by the effects of one another, and the body could maintain normal physiological activities through this function. Thirdly, it maintains normal physiological state through the ascending Kidney-Water and descending Heart-Yang(水升火降). Fourthly, Vital Essence is divided into the congenital Essence(先天之精) and the acquired Essence(後天之精) in which the former is related with reproduction and the latter, nourishing. Fifthly, Qi is resistant to pathogens and related with the physique so that Qi and physique should be balanced. Sixthly, Healthy Person is the state where the exchange of Qi-Blood is active.

Objectives : The purpose of this research was to find out the efficacy of Castanea crenata Inner Shell (CCIS) on the skin by comparing the difference effect between only MTS (microneedle therapy system) and the CCIS essence application after MTS treatment. Methods : The present author performed once a week and total 3 times of MTS treatment. The treatment time took about 5 ~ 10 minutes and the depth of the needle was adjusted according to the participant's skin condition. In the control group, essence base was applied after MTS and in the experimental group, CCIS powder dissolved essence was applied. One week after each treatment, the change of skin condition was measured. Two weeks after the end of the clinical trial, the skin condition was checked again. Results : In the case of the test group and the control group, there was a significant decrease in thermography temperature and there was a significant increase in skin tone. In the case of pores and pigmentation, there was no significant difference on both group. In the case of moisture, there was a significant increase only in the test group. Conclusion : The MTS treatment itself showed good effects on thermography temperature and skin tone. But in the case of the moisture effect, it was much better when the CCIS essence was applied to the skin after MTS treatment. This study suggests that CCIS essence increases the efficacy of MTS on the point of moisture.

According to the traditional Korean medicine (TKM), kidney has been recognized as the roof of innate endowment because it plays an important role in the birth, growth, sexual reproduction, and aging. Kidney essence insufficiency syndrome (KEIS) is caused when kidney is impaired. KEIS is characterized by retarded development, decreased reproduction, tinnitus, loosening of teeth, and loss of hair and forgetfulness. In traditional Chinese medicine, KEIS mouse model was established by use of threatinjuring the kidney combined with over-fatigue. However, the TKM theory-based KEIS experiment model has not been described correctly. In the present study, we suggest a new KEIS experiment model including following cases; 1) weakness of father essence and mother blood, 2) life nurturing during pregnancy, 3) full-term gestation period.

Louis I. Kahn is cleary one of 20th century great architects. The character of his philosophy of architecture can be condensed as simple words; Architectural Essence, because the very nature of his work based on historicity is so fundamental. Some contemporary architects and architectural critics regard it as a symbol of Post-Modern Architecture era expressing relative multiplicity or an expression of Heideggerian existentialism, but others do as the attribute of fundamentalist like absolute Plato's Idea. Comparing the former, studies of the latter theme have been executed superficially and somewhat biasedly for last decades. In the context, this paper attempt to reanalyze Kahn's idea of 'Architectural Essence' with the deep view of Platonist focused on the concept of binary opposition and causality.

In the Circular flow of Meridians(經脈), the circulation of Nutrient Gi(營氣) is that the essence Gi(精氣) of food starts from Middle Cho(中焦), via heart and lung into the ring-type round of 12 Meridians(十二經脈) in turn of hand Meridians(水經) and foot Meridians(足經), Yang Meridians(陽經) and Eum Meridians(陰經). The circulation of Defensive Gi(衛氣) is that if going out from Eum part(陰分) into Yang part(陽分), is rounding on the Yang Meridians, if going out from Yang part into Eum part, is rounding on the five Jang(五臟) in order of Kidney(腎)-Heart(心)-Lung(肺)-Liver(肝)-Spleen(脾). Because the process of accumulating the essence Gi has a property of One-way flow, it flows from terminal to the direction of body trunk, has no distinct channel with its immaterial nature. and is concentrated on the lower part to that the five Jang belong.

This study is to research the essence of ‘Dwelling’ as the meaning of the veritable dwelling. This thesis started with the problematic recognition that the dwelling cannot treat the impending basic problems properly only with the scientific and estimating method so far The method for the study to recognize the essence of the dwelling in this study is the phenomenological method. The research method which was performed in order to recognize the essence of the dwelling was the deep interview, and the course and essence of the dwelling was understood after analyzing and interpreting while abstracting the dwelling experience of six aged women.

본 논문은 숯의 관광가치를 규명하기 위해 시작되었다. 숯의 관광가치는 숯의 본질을 다양한 각도에서 규명할 때 구현된다. 또한 숯의 본질은 관광가치를 결정하는 핵심이다. 연구결과 숯의 본질과 관광가치의 연계에 대한 시사점을 도출하였으며 이것은 향후 숯 관광콘텐츠 개발전략의 기초가 된다.
