수평관 내 물-공기 이상류 거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Investigation on the Behavior of Water-Air Two-phase Flows in a Horizontal Pipe)

  • A series of laboratory experiments has been performed in order to investigate the behavior of water-air two-phase flow in a horizontal pipe. A conductivity meter has been applied to detect the irregular alternation of air at the specific points in flows. The experimental condition has been established according to the water and air flowrates. Passing time, which is the time length for a measuring probe to pass through the entire length of a specific bubble, has been defined to evaluate the size of bubbles in the flow. Passing length, which can be considered as the equivalent value to bubble size and determined from the product of passing time and cross-sectional averaged velocity, and its corresponding occurrence frequency have been analyzed to classify the air flow patterns according to the condition of air and water fluxes. From the result, the dependancy of flow patterns on the variation of air-water flux ratio has been investigated and the existence of thresholds also checked for classifying the behavior of air in the flow.

Simplified Design Equation of Lap Splice Length in Compression

  • With the emergence of ultra-high strength of concrete, the compression lap splice has become an important area of interest. According to ACI 318-08, a compression splice can be longer than a tension splice when high-strength concrete is used. By reevaluating the test results of compression splices and performing regression analysis, a simplified design equation for splice length in compression was developed based on the basic form of design equations for development/splice lengths of deformed bars and hooks in tension. A simple linear relation between $l_s/d_b$ and $f_{sc}\sqrt{f'_c}$ was assumed, and yields good values for the correlation coefficient and the mean and the COV (coefficient of variation) of the ratios of tests to predictions of splice strengths in compression. By including the 5% fractile coefficient of 0.83, a design equation for splice length in compression was developed. The splice length calculated using the proposed equation has a reliability that is equivalent to other provisions for reinforcing bars.

  • 본 논문에서는 일반적인 큐잉 시스팀의 큐길이 분포에 대한 근사 이론을 제안하였다. 제안된 근사 이론은 하한치와 상한치를 단계적으로 찾는 2단계 해석적인 근사 방법을 기초로 한다. 이를 이용하면 다양한 트래픽원이 다중화된 모델의 큐길이 분포를 신속히 계산할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 M+ N D /M / 1 큐잉 시스팀에서 도착하는 고객이나 떠나는 고객이 관측한 큐길이 분포를 계산하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 얻은 결과와 비교하여 제안된 근사이론이 시뮬레이션 결과에 근접함을 확인하였다. 특히 M/M/1큐에 대해 근사이론으로 유도된 공식은 정해와 같았으며, D/M/1 큐에 대해서는 간단한 해석적인 공식을 얻을 수 있었다.

Determination of minimum depth of prestressed concrete I-Girder bridge for different design truck

  • The depth of superstructure is the summation of the height of girders and the thickness of the deck floor. In this study, it is aim to determine the maximum span length of girders and minimum depth of the superstructure of prestressed concrete I-girder bridge. For this purpose the superstructure of the bridge with the width of 10m and the thickness of the deck floor of 0.175m, which the girders length was changed by two meter increments between 15m and 35m, was taken into account. Twelve different girders with heights of 60, 75, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170 and 180 cm, which are frequently used in Turkey, were chosen as girder type. The analyses of the superstructure of prestressed concrete I girder bridge was conducted with I-CAD software. In the analyses AASHTO LRFD (2012) conditions were taken into account a great extent. The dead loads of the structural and non-structural elements forming the bridge superstructure, prestressing force, standard truck load, equivalent lane load and pedestrian load were taken into consideration. HL93, design truck of AASHTO and also H30S24 design truck of Turkish Code were selected as vehicular live load. The allowable concrete stress limit, the number of prestressed strands, the number of debonded strands and the deflection parameters obtained from analyses were compared with the limit values found in AASHTO LRFD (2012) to determine the suitability of the girders. At the end of the study maximum span length of girders and equation using for calculation for minimum depth of the superstructure of prestressed concrete I-girder bridge were proposed.

Analytical and numerical investigation of the cyclic behavior of angled U-shape damper

  • Yielding dampers exhibit varying cyclic behavior based on their geometry. These dampers not only increase the energy dissipation of the structure but also increase the strength and stiffness of the structure. In this study, parametric investigations were carried out to explore the impact of angled U-shape damper (AUSD) dimensions on its cyclic behavior. Initially, the numerical model was calibrated using the experimental specimen. Subsequently, analytical equations were presented to calculate the yield strength and elastic stiffness, which agreed with the experimental results. The outcomes of the parametric studies encompassed ultimate strength, effective stiffness, energy dissipation, and equivalent viscous damper ratio (EVDR). These output parameters were compared with similar dampers. Also, the magnitude of the effect of damper dimensions on the results was investigated. The results of parametric studies showed that the yield strength is independent of the damper width. The length and thickness of the damper have the greatest effect on the elastic stiffness. Reducing length and width resulted in increased energy dissipation, effective stiffness, and ultimate strength. Damper width had a more significant effect on EVDR than its length. On average, every 5 mm increase in damper thickness resulted in a 3.6 times increase in energy dissipation, 3 times the effective stiffness, and 3 times the ultimate strength of the model. Every 15 mm reduction in damper width and length increased energy dissipation by 14% and 24%, respectively.

일반철근(SD400) 용접 겹침이음 인장실험 (Tensile Test for Lap Welded Joints of Rebars(SD400))

  • 철근콘크리트 구조물에서 철근의 이음은 철근을 겹쳐서 결속선으로 결속한 겹침이음과 커플러에 의한 기계적 이음이 일반적이다. 국내 설계기준(콘크리트구조기준)에서는 일반철근(비용접 철근)에 대해 용접 겹침이음을 제한하고 있으나, 해외기준(AWS D1.4)에서는 예열을 통한 일반철근의 용접 겹침이음을 허용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내외 규격 및 설계기준을 조사하고, 건설현장에서 가장 많이 사용되는 SD400 강종의 일반철근을 대상으로 용접 겹침이음 인장실험을 수행하여 인장강도를 평가하였다. 용접 겹침이음 시험체의 용접길이는 KS규격(KS B ISO 17660-1)에 제시된 최소용접길이인 8d를 적용하고, 예열온도는 AWS D1.4에 따라 D19이하는 $150^{\circ}C$, D22이상은 $260^{\circ}C$로 설정하였다. 인장실험 결과, 용접 겹침이음된 일반철근은 콘크리트구조기준에서 요구하는 인장강도(항복강도의 125%)를 발현하였으며, 모두 철근 모재에서 파단이 발생되었다. 예열 유무에 따른 영향을 검토하기 위해, 일반철근을 예열한 후 용접한 것과 예열 등의 열처리하지 않은 것을 비교한 결과, 인장강도는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 실험시 사용한 일반철근을 대상으로 화학성분을 분석하여 탄소당량(Ceq)을 확인한 결과, 0.45% 이하로 낮았다. AWS D1.4에 따르면, 탄소당량이 0.45% 이하면 예열이 필요하지 않은 조건이다. 결과적으로 예열의 영향이 미비한 것은 일반철근의 탄소당량이 낮았기 때문인 것으로 확인되었다.

GFRP 보강근의 이음성능 (Lap Splice Length of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Reinforcing Bar)

  • The lap splice lengths of deformed steel reinforcing bars and GFRP bars were experimentally compared using beam specimens. The purpose was to evaluate the length required of the GFRP bar to develop strength at least equivalent to the conventional steel reinforcing bar. The main test variable was the lap splice length: 10, 20, 30 $d_b$ for the deformed steel bars and 20, 30, 40 $d_b$ for the GFRP bars. Two different types of GFRP bars were tested: (1) one with spiral-type deformation and (2) plain round bars. Elastic modulus was about 1/5 of the steel bars while the tensile strength was about 690 MPa for the GFRP bars. Nominal diameter of the GFRP bars and steel bars was 12.7 and 13 mm, respectively. Normal strength concrete (28-day $f_{cu}$ = 30 MPa) was used. For the conventional steel bars (SD400 grade), strength over 400 MPa in tension was developed using the lap splice length of 20 and 30 $f_{cu}$. Only $87\%$ of the nominal yield strength was reached with the lap splice length of 10 $d_b$. For the spiral-type deformed GFRP bars with $40-d_b$ lap splice length, 440 MPa in tension was determined. The maximum tensile strength developed of the GFRP bars with smaller lap splice lengths decreased. The plain GFRP bar was not effective in developing the tensile strength even with $40-d_b$ lap splice length. Development of the cracks on beam surface was clearly visible for the beams reinforced with the GFRP bars. Mid-span deflections, however, were significantly smaller than the comparable beams with conventional steel bars indicating potential ductility problem.

굴절이상과 안축장/각막곡률반경 비와의 관계에 관한 연구 (Study of the Axial Length/Corneal Radius Ratio in Determining the Refractive State of the Eye)

  • 본 연구에서는 안과적 질환이 없는 한국인 성인 남녀의 안광학적요소를 측정하여, 안축의 길이를 각막 양주경선의 평균곡률반경으로 나눈 값(Al/CR비)과 눈의 굴절이상과의 상관성을 분석하였다. 눈의 굴절이상과 안축의 길이, 각막곡률반경과는 각각 -0.77(0.001>p), 0.29(0.01>p)의 상관관계가 있었으나, AL/CR비와는 이것들보다 훨씬 높은 -0.89(0.001>p)의 상관성을 보였다. 그러므로 눈의 굴절이상의 대부분은 AL/CR비에 의해서 결정된다고 할 수 있다. 또한 Al/CR비에 기여하는 안광학 요소를 알아보기 위해 AL/CR비와 안광학요소와의 상관성을 분석한 결과, 안축의 길이와는 0.82(0.001>p), 유리체의 깊이와는 0.80(0.001>p), 전방의 깊이와는 0.57(0.001>p), 각막굴절력과는 0.40(0.001>p), 각막골률반경과는 0.39(0.001>p), 수정체의 굴절력과는 -0.35(0.01>p) 등의 순서로 나타났다. 그러므로 눈의 굴절이상은 안광학요소 중 안축의 길이와 각막곡률반경의 비에 의해서 가장 많은 영향을 받으며, 이 AL/CR비는 안축의 길이, 초자처의 깊이, 전방의 깊이 등이 밀접한 관련성이 있으나, 수정체의 두께는 유의할 만한 상관성이 없음을 알았다.

저항성 십자 표면 구조를 이용한 광대역 박형 흡수체 설계 (Design of Wideband Thin Absorber Using Resistive Cross-Shaped Surface Structures)

  • 본 논문에서는 저항성 sheet를 이용한 광대역 박형 흡수체 설계법을 제안한다. 제안된 흡수체의 등가회로는 직렬 RLC 공진회로와 종단이 단락된 전송선으로 이루어진다. 이 등가회로를 바탕으로 임의의 설계주파수에서 흡수체가 ${\lambda}/4$보다 얇은 두께를 가지면서도, 광대역 흡수율 특성을 가지는 세가지 조건을 정리하였다. 수치해석을 통해 이를 동시에 만족하는 R, L, C 소자 값을 구했다. 구한 등가 R, L, C값은 특정한 chip 저항이나 표면저항을 가지는 십자 모양의 구조로써 구현이 가능하다. 이러한 설계법을 설계 중심주파수 3 GHz에서 적용해서 두께가 18.75 mm(전기적 길이 $67.5^{\circ}$)이고, 90 % 흡수율 기준으로 116 % 대역폭을 갖는 광대역 흡수체를 설계하였다.
