Effect of Particle Size and Dispersion on Dielectric Properties in ZnO/Epoxy Resin Composites

  • In this paper, ZnO-Epoxy nanocomposites (NEP) were prepared and epoxy composites that contain 5 wt% micro ZnO (MEP) and deliberately not well dispersed nano ZnO (NDNEP) were also prepared for purpose of comparison. The effects of the particle size and dispersion of ZnO on dielectric properties of epoxy resin were chiefly studied. Test results showed that: at a loading of 5 wt%, the three epoxy composites seem to have no significant difference on resistivity compared to epoxy resin; Dielectric constants of all the epoxy composites are also basically the same but they are bigger compared to that of the pure epoxy resin (unfilled); Dielectric dissipation factors ($tan{\delta}$) of NDNEP is greater than that of NEP and MEP. NEP has the minimum dielectric loss factor, whereas dielectric loss factors of the three epoxy composites are larger than that of the pure epoxy resin. The decreasing order of electrical breakdown strength for the three epoxy composites and for the pure epoxy resin is as follows: NEP>MEP>NDNEP>EP. Finally, in order to explain the experimental results the aggregation interface phase was proposed. Furthermore, addition of well dispersed nano filler has proved to have a positive effect on the improvement of the dielectric properties of epoxy resin.

터치스크린 기반 항해 시스템을 위한 사용자 인터페이스 실험 모델 설계 (User Interface Experiment Model Design for Touch-Screen Based on Navigation System)

  • 전자통신 기술의 발달로 인해 선박 항해 장비들도 아날로그에서 디지털로 변경되어 통합 운용되고 있으며, 터치스크린 기반의 항해 인터페이스가 주목받고 연구 개발되고 있는 추세이다. 하지만, 항해 중에 파도와 같은 외부적인 환경요인으로부터 영향을 받기 때문에 잘못된 조작으로 인하여 위험한 해양사고가 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 갖고 있지만, 이를 고려한 체계적인 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 터치스크린 입력상의 외부 환경을 고려한 안정성을 검증하는 실험 모델을 제안한다. 또한 제안하는 실험 모델을 통하여 터치스크린 인터페이스에서 버튼의 크기와 입력 지연시간을 부여하는 것이 효과가 있는지 확인하는 모의실험을 하였다. 제안된 실험 모델을 통한 분석을 통하여, 선박 전체 시스템의 안정성을 증진시킬 수 있는 사용자 오류에 견고한 터치스크린 인터페이스 연구에 크게 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

국내 ATM 기반 초고속정보통신망의 NNI 적용 모델 연구 (The NNI Interface Model of the ATM-Based Information Infra-Network of Korea)

  • ATM networks are widely deployed as the network that is capable of supporting multimedia services efficiently now. To date, a large portion of ATM connections, particularly in the WAN environment, have been of a permanent virtual circuits-requiring management intervention for set-up and tear-down. However, switched virtual circuits are required to support a range of desired characteristics on demand, to a reachable end user. To establish, maintain and release on-demand call/connections, the user-network interface(UNI) and node-node interface(NNI) signalling capabilities are required. Two protocols have been specified for NNI signalling within a public network: the broadband integrated-services user part(B-ISUP) protocol specified by the ITU-T, and the private network-network interface(PNNI) protocol specified by the ATM Forum. PNNI offers different type of internetwork or internodal interface from the traditional B-ISUP approach favored to date public network operators. In spite of its name, PNNI may find its place in network service provide networks as well as in private networks. Thus many public network operators and ATM equipment manufacturers are still unable to choose the NNI interface architecture of their system. In this paper, we survey the characteristics of the B-ISUP and PNNI protocols, and investigate the applicability issue of these specifications to the ATM-based Information Infra-Network of Korea. Analyzing the characteristics of the two protocols and clarifying the NNi requirements of the ATM-based Information Infra-Network of Korea, we propose that the B-ISUP protocol is more suitable than PNNI.

  • This paper presents a visualization application using 3D-graphics for effective maintenance of power equipment. The maintenance algorithm implemented in the application is based on Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and Reliability -Centered Maintenance (RCM). The main frame of the developed application was made up based on Windows Application Programming Interface (API) and Microsoft Fundamental Classes (MFC). In order to develop the interactive 3D application, the WorldToolKit (WTK) library based on Open GL was used. Also Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology was used to enhance the efficiency of operators. The developed application can help the power system operators to intuitively recognize the present state and maintenance information of the equipment.

  • This paper proposes a simulation model which evaluates operation plans of container terminal. The operation plans of container terminal consist of berth plan, load plan, unload plan, yard plan, and equipment plan. It is discussed how to apply the simulation method to evaluate those plans. Simulation analysis is based on data about plans from the operation planning system through an interface program. It is discussed what we should got in the simulation, for example, the statistics about container-handling equipment such as container cranes, transfer cranes, yard tractors, and trailers used in the transportation of containers.

  • The most important thing to secure safety and reliability of railway vehicles is to verify performance characteristics of equipments, and related companies or research institutes had many efforts to verify performances and functions of equipments synthetically and efficiently. KHST(Korean High Speed Train) has been developed by KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute). An electric railway system is composed of high-tech subsystems, among which main electric equipment such as transformers and converter are critical components determining the performance of rolling stock. We developed a measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of performances of KHST. The measurement system is composed of software part and hardware part. Perfect interface between multi-users is possible. A new method to measure temperature was applied to the ]measurement system. By using the system, fault diagnosis and performance evaluation of electric equipment in Korean High Speed Train was conducted during test running.

  • DAS(Data Acquisition System) as a ground support equipment has played a critical role in proving the status of ready-to-fire of a rocket system before launch. But it is hard to implement and place a real-time measuring system in a control room at a long distance from the vehicle. In this paper DAS is introduced by being located at the LEC(Launch Equipment Container)[1], 50 meters away from the rocket and connected to remote monitoring system via fiber optics with TCP/IP protocol by means of client/server algorithm. Therefore real-time data acquisition and storage are guaranteed and a convenient and useful MMI (Man-Machine Interface) can be developed.

  • The SECS(SEMI Equipment Communications Standard) is a standard protocol for communication between equipments and a host in semiconductor processes. This paper proposes the implementation of the HSMS(High-speed SECS Message Services) as an interface for transmission of the SECS messages and SECS-II containing message contents defined as an SEMI standard. The HSMS driver is implemented as a type of the daemon program and several DLL files. The SECS-II composes of the SML(SECS Message Language) file defining the SECS messages, the SML translator being able to interpret and transform the SML, and the data index table being able to refer to SECS messages. We also define the shared parameter to exchange the HSMS header and SECS message between the HSMS and the SECS-II. Eventually, to show the effectiveness of the proposed drivers, we test the SECS communications between equipments and a host using the implemented communication programs.

  • V-belt pulleys play a key role in driving cooling pump, oil pump, air-conditioner and so on by using an engine power. Precision deep drawing is one of the main processes for manufacturing the pulleys. Operation variables of the deep drawing equipment, called the setup parameter, must be re-determined whenever the specifications of pulley to be produced are changed. The defect rates during a setup of equipment and the working hours needed for the setup are almost dependent on workers' know-how. This study designs the program for easily determining setup conditions in pulley manufacturing process.

추상화된 공작기계를 이용한 가공셀 제어 (Machining Cell Control Abstract Machine Tool)

  • Reconfiguration, expansion, or new establishment of FMS requires the availability of a shop floor control (SFC) system relevant to the FMS since it is closely related with the hardware component of FMS. Due to the expensive cost of its development, significant research efforts have been made to develop an SFC system that is reusable. This paper presents Abstract Machine Tool (AMT) approach applied to develop an SFC sytem that is reusable without additional programming. The AMT model enables us to design the SFC system independently of the hardware-dependent attributes of euqipment; an AMT models a workstation by abstraction and presents an equipment-independent interface to machining cell controller. Specifically, we describe how we formalize the interfaces among equipment in order to build an AMT and how we design the machining cell control software based on AMT models. We also present MACHINIST the machining cell control system for IAE-FMS plant as an implementation example.
