초등학교 저학년 학생들의 환경소양 및 환경소양에 영향을 미치는 변인 (Elementary School Children's Environmental Literacy and Affecting Variables)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate young children's environmental literacy level and variables that affected their environmental literacy. Of the students, 969 in third grade from big cities, medium sized cities and rural areas participated in this study, and their environmental literacy was measured through 69 questions consisted of 24 items for knowledge, 22 for attitude, 16 for behavior, and 7 for skills with 13 demographic variables. Eighty minutes were given to answer the questions. Statistical analysis was conducted on each of the categories (knowledge, attitude, behavior, skill) that make up environmental literacy and multivariate analysis variance (MANOVA) was also conducted to investigate variables that affect environmental literacy. Results indicated that the correlation between attitude and behavior is the highest. Also, it was found that a demographic variable might affect one, two, or sometimes all categories of the environmental literacy.

각국의 환경교육 관련 자격제도 탐색-미국, 영국, 일본을 중심으로- (Examination of Environmental Educator Certification System-Focusing on the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan-)

  • The aim of this study is to provide a guide for the development of non-formal environmental educator certification system by analyzing certification systems in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan. The following observations from reviewing environmental educator certification systems in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan have implications for development of our own system in Korea. First, environmental educator certification systems are generally managed by cooperation of local environmental education organization association and local universities. Second, in many programs, applicants are qualified through processes including taking required curriculum and submitting portfolio or documents for reviewing of qualification. Third, in the United States, the majority of programs adopted curriculum based on ‘Guidelines for the Initial Preparation of Environmental Educator’ by NAAEE, which means the majority of programs have relatively standardized curriculum. Fourth, curriculums consist of basic skills of teaching, communication, leadership as well as contents of environmental education so that the applicants can practice more efficient environmental education when they are certified. Fifth, the certification programs utilize selected organizations' environmental education programs for training of applicants rather than establish their own programs. It contributes to the improvement of programs of organizations that applicants participated.

중등교사들의 환경교육 수업에 대한 교사 전문성 분석 (Korean Secondary School Teachers' Professionalism in Teaching Environmental Subjects)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 중등교사들의 환경 관련 수업 전문성을 심층적으로 분석하는데 있다. 연구를 진행하기 위해 먼저, 서울과 경기도의 중등교사 431명을 대상으로 환경수업 전문성에 대한 자기평가를 실시하였다. 자기평가도구로는 Hungerford 등(1994)이 개발한 '환경교육자가 갖추어야할 능력 범주 기준'를 활용하였다. 그리고 자기평가를 실시한 중등교사들 중에서 2명의 교사가 진행하는 환경 관련 수업을 실제 참관하여 비디오녹화 분석하였고, 수업교사들과의 면담도 실시하였다. 환경 관련 수업 전문성에 대한 자기평가 결과, '생태학적 기초' 영역이 평균 2.80, 개념적 인식 영역이 평균 2.86, 조사와 평가 영역이 평균 2.83, 환경적 행위기능 영역이 평균 2.94, 교육적 적용 영역이 평균 2.84로 나타났다. 또한, 실제 수업을 분석한 결과, 환경관련 수업을 진행한 교사들은 현대 환경교육에서 강조되고 있는, '생태학적 지식을 교수학습에 효과적으로 적용하는 측면', '환경적 의사결정을 위해 개인적 가치를 명료화하는 측면', '환경쟁점과 해결책에 대한 자신의 가치관을 평가하는 측면', '환경적으로 지속가능발전을 위해 시민적 행위기능을 개발하는 측면'에서 다소 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 중등학교에서 환경관련 수업을 담당하고 있는 교사들을 위한 환경교육 연수프로그램을 개발하고 운영하는데 의미 있는 시사점을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.

환경교육에서 지역사회단체와 학교의 협력 사례 연구 (Case Study of Informal Institute-Public School Collaboration in Environmental Education)

  • This paper examines procedure of informal institute-public school collaboration in an elementary school and analysis environmental effects of informal institute-public school collaboration that follows up curriculum based environmental education programs. The purpose of this program is to improve environmental knowledge, attitudes of elementary students. Partnership between informal environmental Institute(NGO's) and public elementary school teachers established through program. Teachers are encouraged to be involved in student's activities and program assesment. The program we discuss here is a community collaboration project that combines environmental and outdoor education based on school curriculum and student's regional properties. The aim of the study was to describe environmental educational-based school-community partnerships and to examine the advantages and limitations for such collaborations. Qualitative and Quantitative Data are collected and analysed. Outcomes of this program are very positive. Students who were participated in this program gained more environmental awareness, attitude, knowledge, skills and affection to their region. More this programs were helpful to teachers who were participated. Further study needs to practice an exemplary collaboration and development of local school-community partnerships, which yields a blueprint for more productive collaboration in other communities.

식당 비디오 테이핑 및 직무 의사소통 그림판 제작활동이 지적장애 고등학생의 조리직무기술에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Restaurant Video Taping and Job Communication Drawing Board Production Activities on Cooking Job Skills of High School Students with Intellectual Disabilities)

  • 본 연구는 식당 비디오 테이핑 및 직무 의사소통 그림판 제작활동이 지적장애 고등학생의 조리직무기술에 대해 미치는 효과를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구 참여자는 특수학교 고등학교 과정에 재학 중인 세 명의 지적장애학생으로 구성되었으며, 실험 환경은 식당 내 주방과 특수학교 내 교실로 구성되었다. 연구 설계는 단일대상연구에 따른 대상자간 중다간헐 기초선 설계 기법을 사용하였다. 독립변인으로 구성된 중재 프로그램은 연구 참여자들이 식당 사업체의 주방의 환경적 시설과 도구 및 재료, 직원들의 조리직무에 대한 수행 장면을 비디오 테이핑한 후 교실의 장면에서 테이핑한 자료를 직무 의사소통 그림판으로 제작하는 연계 절차로 적용되었다. 종속변인으로 구성된 조리직무기술은 연구 참여자들이 식당의 주방에서 김밥을 직접 조리하는 수행으로 정의된다. 연구 결과, 연구 참여자들은 중재 프로그램을 통해 조리직무기술을 효과적으로 습득, 유지, 일반화한 것으로 나타났다.

섬유 환경규제 대응을 위한 재직자 교육과정 개선방안 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Curriculum for the Workers to Respond to Textile Environmental Regulations)

  • This study aims to cultivate specialized professionals equipped with practical skills essential for compliance with textile environmental regulations and analysis of harmful substances. This is achieved through the revision and restructuring of educational programs targeting workers in the chemical analysis industry. To address this, a survey was conducted among chemical industry workers in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to gauge the demand for educational programs. Specifically, a survey was conducted among 240 SME workers who participated in the 2022 education curriculum to identify their educational needs and specific requirements in the field. The research findings indicate that the majority of SMEs recognize the necessity of education in the chemical field and express a strong willingness to engage in the curriculum. Particularly emphasized was the need to enhance practical skills crucial for compliance with chemical environmental regulations. Consequently, adjustments were made to the curriculum, reallocating time and increasing the duration of practical training. This enables trainees to directly operate analysis machines and interpret results. Additionally, in response to further educational demands reflected by survey participants, the curriculum was expanded from five to six courses, with adjustments made to existing educational programs. Based on these research outcomes, practical educational methods tailored to SME requirements are proposed, aiming to bridge the gap between regulatory compliance and industry needs.

친환경학교 가꾸기 프로젝트 활동이 중학생의 환경 인식에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Eco-Friendly School Project Activity on Middle School Students' Environmental Awareness)

  • Project-based learning is an innovative approach to learning that teaches a multitude of strategies critical for success in the twenty-first century. Students drive their own learning through inquiry activity, as well as work collaboratively to research and create projects that reflect their knowledge. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of eco-friendly school project activity which is applied from one of project-based learning approach on learning outcomes of students in ninth-grade environment course in middle school. The participants were given a questionnaire before and after the environmental project activities. In solving the school environment issues themselves, students have practiced invaluable problem solving skills. This study indicates that school students' awareness about the environment has positively changed by experiencing the eco-friendly school project. In addition, this project affects students' variety of environmental awareness. This project could be applied to school environmental education programs and to environment lessons, developmental activities or club activities for a positive impact on students' environmental awareness.

Questionnaire Surveys on Teaching Skills and the Degree in Which Students Understand the Uppermost Points of Importance in Their Classes

  • As an activity of one working group for the Good Practice program at Kumamoto University, we proposed a questionnaire survey on the degree in which students understand the uppermost points of importance in their classes in addition to the usual type of class questionnaire. Each class lists three uppermost points of importance which are essential for understanding the class content. The degree of understanding is classified into four levels: full, most, insufficient, and not at all understandings. Through the analysis of questionnaire replies, the degree of understanding for bachelor students in the Department of Engineering was discovered to be meaningfully affected by the degree of difficulty, the effectiveness of audiovisual aids, self-study time, and class attendance.

유기농식품 소매유통시장의 환경지속성경영 연구 (A Study on the Environmental Sustainable Management (ESM) in Organic Products Retailing Markets)

  • This work is described as an fresh effort to study environmental sustainable management in organic products retailing markets. Sustainable management means creating value for business, nature and society. The main point of this thesis is about the concept, the content and the target of environmental sustainable management, and the technical method and basis to achieve it. Also this thesis shows the strategy of sustainable management as well as the realization of sustainable development by carrying out organic agricultural production. The main content of sustainable management is that: - Rationalize the utilization of resource and energy. - Maximize economic benefit. - Minimize harm to humans and the environment. Examines business strategies that have successfully targeted markets, such as advertising, labeling, gaining consumer trust, partnerships, and diversifying operations. These included management skills, and marketing organic and other sustainably grown products to determine strategies for developing new markets for these products. Suggests that consumers are becoming more aware of the importance of environmentally sound methods for growing food, the health benefits of wholesome food, and are willing to pay more for these products.

국내 체험환경교육 프로그램의 운영 현황 및 개선 방안 연구 (Site-Based Environmental Education in the Republic of Korea : Current Status and Needs)

  • This article describes the current status of site-based environmental education (EE) in the Republic of Korea. Implications for site-based EE program development and operation are presented and recommendations for an improvement are provided. Questionnaires were mailed to 205 schools and organizations where site-based EE programs operated in 2002 with funding from the Korean Ministry of Environment. The questionnaire was designed and used to examine the scope, operation, and needs of site-based EE programs. The response rate was 27.3%. The results of the survey indicated that 'awareness', 'participation', and 'attitude' were addressed by the program goals and objectives more than 'knowledge' and 'skills'. The survey also indicated that activities in the programs were not variable and most were teacher/instructor-centered. Most of the programs reflected the 'connection with everyday life, direct experience and sensitivity'. There were some difficulties in motivating students and finding a good location and qualified instructional staff. Needs included well-designed program development and dissemination, professional development, increased funding support, and more effective program evaluation.
