동아시아지역의 CMAQ 대류권 오존 모의에 화학적 측면 경계조건이 미치는 효과 (The Effect of the Chemical Lateral Boundary Conditions on CMAQ Simulations of Tropospheric Ozone for East Asia)

  • The goal of this study is to investigate the effects of the chemical lateral boundary conditions (CLBCs) on Community Multi-scale Air Quality (CMAQ) simulations of tropospheric ozone for East Asia. We developed linking tool to produce CLBCs of CMAQ from Goddard Earth Observing System-Chemistry (GEOS-Chem) as a global chemistry model. We examined two CLBCs: the fixed CLBC in CMAQ (CLBC-CMAQ) and the CLBC from GEOS-Chem (CLBC-GEOS). The ozone fields by CMAQ simulation with these two CLBCs were compared to Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES) satellite data, ozonesonde and surface measurements for May and August in 2008. The results with CLBC-GOES showed a better tropospheric ozone prediction than that with CLBC-CMAQ. The CLBC-GEOS simulation led to the increase in tropospheric ozone concentrations throughout the model domain, due to be influenced high ozone concentrations of upper troposphere and near inflow western and northern boundaries. Statistical evaluations also showed that the CLBC-GEOS case had better results of both the index of Agreement (IOA) and mean normalized bias. In the case of IOA, the CLBC-GEOS simulation was improved about 0.3 compared to CLBC-CMAQ due to the better predictions for high ozone concentrations in upper troposphere.

탄화수소 흡착 컬럼의 전산모사 특성 (Computational Simulation of Hydrocarbon Adsorption in a Packed Column)

  • 세탁시설에서 배출되는 탄화수소의 흡착제거 특성을 고찰하기 위하여 흡착 컬럼의 전산모사를 수행하였다. 흡착질은 세탁시설에서 배출되는 휘발성유기화합물 중 가장 대표적인 탄화수소를 선정하였으며 흡착제는 활성탄으로 전산모사를 수행하였다. 흡착컬럼의 수학적 방정식은 연속방정식과 Navier-Stokes 식을 적용하여 해석하였으며 Matlab 프로그램을 이용하여 미분방정식을 해석하였다. 흡착등온식은 선형흡착등온식, 프로인들리히 흡착등온식 그리고 랑뮈어 흡착등온식을 평가하였으며 흡착등온식의 흡착상수에 따른 흡착량을 비교하였다. 공극률은 0.79, 분산계수는 42.4 ㎠/min, 흡착제 밀도는 485 g/L, 흡착컬럼 직경은 2.0 cm, 흡착컬럼 길이는 2.5 cm라는 조건에서 전산모사를 수행하였다. 랑뮈어 흡착등온식에서 선속도, 분산계수, 공극률에 대한 흡착량의 영향을 비교하였다. 선속도는 50~200 cm/min, 분산계수는 100 ~400 ㎠/min, 공극률은 0.66~0.79로 변화시켜 수행하였다. 전산모사를 통한 결과는 활성탄-벤젠의 흡착에 대하여 랑뮈어 흡착등온식이 가장 잘 일치하였다. 동일한 조건에서 3가지의 흡착등온식을 비교한 후 전산모사를 통하여 탄화수소의 효율적인 흡착조건을 찾을 수 있으며 이를 고찰할 수 있다.

수중운동체 교전 시뮬레이션을 위한 이산 사건 및 이산 시간 혼합형 시뮬레이션 모델 구조 기반의 전투 공간 모델 개발 (Development of Battle Space Model Based on Combined Discrete Event and Discrete Time Simulation Model Architecture for Underwater Warfare Simulation)

  • 본 논문에서는 전장 환경 요소 및 플랫폼 모델 간 상호 교환 정보를 통합하여 관리하는 전투 공간 모델(Battle Space Model)을 제안한다. 전투 공간 모델은 전장의 지형 정보와 환경 요소를 저장하는 Geographic Information System(GIS) Model, 플랫폼 모델 간 상호 교환 정보에 전장 환경 요소의 영향을 고려하는 Propagator Model, 플랫폼 모델 간 상호 교환 정보를 저장하는 Logger Model, 그리고 플랫폼 모델 간의 상호 작용(encounter) 시점을 예측하고 상호 작용 시점까지 시간을 건너뛰는 Spatial Encounter Predictor(SEP) Model로 구성된다. 또한 이산 사건 및 이산 시간 혼합형 시뮬레이션 모델 구조로 구성되어 있는 플랫폼 모델과 추가 작업 없이 직접 연결하기 위해, 전투 공간 모델 또한 이산 사건 및 이산 시간 혼합형 시뮬레이션 모델 구조로 구성하였다. 본 연구에서는 전투 공간 모델을 적용하여 수중운동체 교전 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 이를 통해 플랫폼 모델 각자가 반영하던 전장 환경 요소를 전투 공간 모델이 일괄적으로 반영함으로써 플랫폼 모델 개발을 단순화 할 수 있었다. 또한 각 플랫폼 모델은 다른 플랫폼 모델과의 정보 교환을 고려하지 않고 전투 공간 모델과의 정보 교환만을 고려하면 되므로, 플랫폼 모델을 중립적으로 구성할 수 있었다.

OPRoS 기반 로봇시스템의 Robot-in-the-Loop Simulation 구조 (Design of a Robot-in-the-Loop Simulation Based on OPRoS)

  • This paper proposes the architecture of the RILS (Robot-in-the-Loop-Simulation) consisting of the robot, the virtual robot, and the avatar robot which is the type of virtual robots operating according to the robot status and behavior. And the synchronization algorithm for mobilization part of the avatar robot is suggested, which reduces the difference between behaviors of the robot and those of the avatar robot. This difference occurs due to the environmental and mechanical mismatches between the robot and avatar robot. In order to reduce this difference in robots behaviors, the synchronization algorithm controls the avatar robot based on the data observed from the robot's behavior. The proposed architecture and the synchronization algorithm are validated from some simulation results.

  • This paper presents an efficient finite analysis model and a simulation-based reliability analysis method for stowage device system failure of a container crane with respect to lateral load. A quasi-static analysis model is introduced to simulate the nonlinear resistance characteristics and failure of tie-down and stowage pin, which are the main structural stowage devices of a crane. As a reliability analysis method, a subset simulation method is applied considering the uncertainties of later load and mechanical characteristic parameters of stowage devices. An efficient Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method is applied to sample random variables. Analysis result shows that the proposed model is able to estimate the probability of failure of crane system effectively which cannot be calculated practically by crude Monte Carlo simulation method.

마이크로 가스터빈(MGT) 성능 시뮬레이션 모델 개발 (Development of Performance Simulation Models for MGT)

  • All forecasts of a future energy demand anticipate an increase across the globe. With the increase of energy demand, the emission of $CO_2$ is also likely to increase by at least the same amount because energy supply will be based on fossil fuels, which is more apparent in a number of developing countries. In this context, the Micro Gas Turbine (MGT) is being considered as a promising solution. In order to propose a feasible concept of those technologies such as improving environmental effect and economics, we performed a sensitivity study for a biomass fueled MGT using a simulation model. The study consists of 1) the fundamental modeling using manufacturer's technical specifications, 2) the correction with the experimental data, and 3) the sensitivity study for system parameters. The simulation model was developed by PEPSE-GT 72, commercial steam/gas turbine simulation toolbox.

  • Korean High Speed Train (KHST) has been tested on high speed line in JungBu site since it was developed in 2002. The KHST figured 7 cars was modeled for dynamic simulation with Vampire program. and the data acquisition system was used to test successfully the on-line test for proving the dynamic performance of KHST. The comparison between test and simulation results for dynamic behavior of KHST was tried in this paper and it was very difficult because the environmental conditions and running conditions have an effect on the test results and these conditions are unable to be modeled for dynamic analysis. Also the parameters for data acquisition system for test are usually not same to simulation conditions. Therefor, in this paper the acceleration data after filtering with low pass filter below 1Hz were used to compare between test and simulation results because the low frequency range is useful to evaluate the dynamic performance for railway vehicle system, so as steady state curving acceleration. The results show that both are similar in low frequency range.

  • A tendency to erect more wind turbines can be observed in order to reduce the environmental consequences of electric power generation. As a result of this, in the near future, wind turbines may start to influence the behavior of electric power systems by interacting with conventional generation and loads. Therefore, wind turbine models that can be integrated into power system simulation software are needed. In this paper, a model that can be used to represent all types of variable speed wind turbines in power system simulations is presented. Wind turbine characteristic equation of a wind turbine is implemented in the RTDS, and the real data of weather conditions are interfaced to the RTDS for the purpose of real time simulation of grid-connection wind power system. The outcomes of the simulation demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed simulation scheme in this paper. The results show that the cost effective verifying for the efficiency and stability of WPGS.

  • The study of pedestrian behavior covers wide topics, including way finding, choice and decision make, as well as spatial cognition and environmental perception. To address the problem, simulation is now put forward as suitable technique and method for analyzing human spatial behavior. In the paper we present a development architecture for simulating tracking pedestrian in a distributed environment. We introduce and explore the potential of using mobile agent-enabled distributed implementation model as a tool for development and implementation of the simulation. Three kinds of mobile agents are designed for implementation of managing and querying data of pedestrian. Finally, simulation result of JR 10,000 passengers’ movement is developed and implemented as a case study.

  • The pre-assembly takes a large portion of the fabrication cost of steel bridges. In order to save the fabrication cost through the improvement of the conventional pre-assembling process, this research investigates a numerical pre-assembly simulation as an alternative to current pre-assembling process. The 3D laser scanning was utilized in site and measuring data for steel box were analyzed. The productivity of pre-assembly simulation system is compared with the conventional pre-assembling system. This paper identifies feasibility on the alternative pre-assembling process and then proposes the scheme of the pre-assembly simulation system development satisfying the current pre-assembly inspection of standards.
