농업용 호소의 수질개선을 위한 오염총량관리제의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Total Pollution Load Management System for Water Quality Improvement in Agriculture Reservoir)

  • Agriculture reservoirs need a systematic approach that can control water purity and water improvement. The area under study, Bunam Lake exceeds the agricultural water standard level due to contamination from the upper stream. When the Taean Enterprise City was planned, the water quality improvement plan was applied to minimize the environmental change. However, in order to continuously maintain the water quality in the Bunam Lake, it was essential to apply the Total Pollution Load Management System (TPLMs). In order to achieve the targeted water quality in the Bunam Lake, standard flow rates and targeted water quality levels were applied to obtain the loading capacity which is as follows : BOD 1,891.2 kg/d, T-N 1,945.7 kg/d, T-P 131.7 kg/d. Also, the regional development load was calculated as, BOD 1,083.6 kg/d, T-N 942.2 kg/d, T-P 61.8 kg/d, which is required to be deceased :- by BOD 378.4 kg/d, T-N 198.9 kg/d, T-P 31.6 kg/d in order to safely achieve the targeted water quality in the Bunam Lake.

노인 주야간보호시설 환경 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Environmental Evaluation of the Elderly's Day Care Center)

  • Korean medical welfare facilities for the elderly provide the conveniences to care geriatric illness such as dementia and stroke. The medical welfare facility categorizes elderly care facilities, nursing homes, and geriatrics hospitals based on the Korean welfare of the aged act. The government makes an effort to secure feed rate and finances of medical welfare facilities. However, the qualitative improvement of facilities is inadequate. The purpose of this study is to analyze the conditions and problems of existing facilities using an environmental evaluation and to discuss the improvement direction related to the daycare centers for the elderly. The method of this study is literature review and field survey. Firstly, we analyzed the previous studies to develop the tool, evaluating the environment of day care centers for the old. Secondly, the items of environmental evaluation are deduced. Thirdly, we select the facilities to conduct field survey and analyze the results of field survey. Lastly, We discussed the problems and improvement directions through the results. It is judged that this study is an useful as the basic guideline to strengthen the minimum legal standards of day care center for the elderly due to the suggestion of insufficient environmental evaluation items.

방사선 처리에 의한 폴리비닐 알콜의 생분해도 개선 (Improvement of the Biodegradability of Polyvinyl Alcohol by Radiation Treatment)

  • Radiation treatment with gamma-rays and electron-beams was used to remove polyvinyl alcohol(PVA), one of the main components of dyeing wastewater. PVA was effectively decomposed by radiation treatment, thus the removal was near 100 % at an initial PVA concentration of 44 mg/L. However, total organic carbon(TOC) removal was less than 5 % due to lower transformation of PVA to $CO_2$. This directly indicates the radiation treatment alone is not appropriate for the complete decomposition of PVA. In this sense, the improvement of biodegradability($BOD_5/COD$) of PVA by radiation treatment was studied. Both gamma-ray and electron-beam treatments significantly increased the biodegradability of PVA by transforming non-biodegradable PVA to biodegradable by-products. This suggests radiation treatment, especially electron-beam treatment that showed better improvement of biodegradability, can be used as a pre-treatment of biological degradation process of PVA.

환경인자를 이용한 직경 및 수고생장 모형 추정 (Estimation of Diameter and Height Growth Equations Using Environmental Variables)

  • 본 연구는 전통적인 empirical 생장모델에 환경 인자를 독립변수로 사용하여 이를 환경 인자에 대한 생장 모델의 변화를 분석하여 정도가 높은 생장 모형 구축 가능성 여부를 판단하였다. 이를 위하여 기본적으로 추정된 편백의 수고 및 직경 생장모델에 각 지역의 환경 인자인 평균 기온, 평균 강수량, 고도, 토양의 유기질 함유량을 독립 변수로 추가 하였다. 수고 생장 모델은 Gompertz 다형방정식에 점근 변수인 ${\alpha}$에 온도 고도 인자의 2독립 변수로 도입하여 모델의 정도를 향상 시킬 수 있었다. 직경 생장 모델 또한 Gompertz 다형방정식에 연평균 강수량과 해발고를 도입한 모델이 정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 환경 인자를 도입하기 전과 후의 모델의 정도 향상을 비교 했을 때 아주 뚜렷하게 모델의 향상은 나타나지 않았으나 일정 비율의 정도를 향상 시킬 수 있었다. 이는 생장 모델을 구축하기 위한 데이터 조사의 어려움 및 투자할 수 있는 예산을 감안하여 모델의 정도를 향상시키기 위하여 비교적 쉽게 구할 수 있는 환경 인자들의 이용 가능성이 많은 것으로 판단된다.

  • The intensive habitats loss of natural organisms as a consequence of anthropogenic activities has lead to the use of alternative habitats for species conservation. We reviewed the current status of alternative habitats and suggest the improvement of alternative habitats. Most of alternative habitats regarded in this study are not following the pre-arranged consultation at environmental impact assessment. These alternative habitats are rendered useless due to the insufficient consideration of ecological characteristics of species and lack of detailed plans. A number of alternative habitats are influenced by disturbance such as environmental pollution and construction. Post-monitoring of alternative habitats are needed to estimate immigration rate of species. Post management is also needed to assess the status of population stability. Overall, low effectiveness of alternative habitats is presented in this study. According to the status survey, methods for improvement of alternative habitats are required such as detailed guidelines, establishment of post-monitoring system, improvement of habitat restoration techniques, and guidelines for management and operation of alternative habitats.

자연 친화적 하천정비를 위한 호안평가기법의 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of Evaluation Technique for Revetment for Nature-Friendly River Improvement)

  • 과거 치수적 목적에 의해 진행하던 하천정비방식이 최근에 친환경적 개념의 정비방식으로 전환되면서 하천살리기 운동을 비롯해 하천의 환경기능을 개선하려는 노력이 진행중이며 전국적으로 자연형 하천정비 또는 친환경적 하천 복원 등의 사업이 활발히 시행되고 있다. 호안공법 또한 자연형 하천정비 개념의 도입이후 다양한 호안공법이 시공되고 있는 상황에서 보다 적합한 호안공법의 적용을 위해서는 하천의 환경특성을 고려할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 자연 친화적 하천정비를 위한 호안의 평가지표 및 기법의 개발에 대한 선행연구로서 현장조사에 의한 세부조사항목들을 활용한 평가방법을 제안하였다. 수리적 안정성 부분의 평가 항목은 유선형태, 하상경사, 유속, 소류력비의 4개 항목이며, 환경성 부분은 호안식생, 하천수의 상태, 고수부지의 토지이용, 고수부지 재료, 고수부지 식생의 5가지 항목이다. 평가방법은 각 평가 항목별로 1$\sim$5점의 점수를 부여하여 평가하였고 수리적 안정성과 환경성 부분의 평균 점수를 산정하였다. 제안된 평가방법의 적용결과 다수의 기존 호안이 수리적 안정성에 과도하게 편중되어 있고 환경성의 고려는 매우 미흡한 양상을 보이고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안된 방법은 향후 하천의 호안설계 및 시공을 위한 가이드라인 제시를 위한 초석으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

앵커공법을 적용한 기존 콘크리트 중력식 댐의 내진성능 보강방안 (Seismic Performance Improvement of Concrete Gravity Dam by Post-tensioned Anchors)

  • This paper describes the assessment of seismic performance of the concrete gravity dam seismically reinforced by post-tensioned anchors. In order to evaluate the seismic performance, the response spectrum analyses have been carried out for 7 different configurations of the post-tensioned anchors, and then their performance improvement in the maximum tensile and compressive stresses is compared to each other. The comparative results demonstrate that the layout of the post-tensioned anchors strongly influences the seismic performance of the concrete gravity dam. In this study, the slightly-inclined vertical anchorage system shows the largest improvement on the overall performance of the seismically-excited concrete gravity dam.

인간의 복지향상을 위한 환경운동의 방향 (A Study on the Direction of the Environmental Movement for the improvement of Welfare)

  • The purpose of this study is to grope the direction of the environmental movement for the improvement of welfare. The deterioration of environment which was resulted from the development of material civilization due to the industrialization made people newly recognize the importance of environment. The quality of the future life depends on the solution of the environmental problems. The family-centered environmental movement as a new cultural movement in the daily life should be revitalized for the purpose of improving welfare. This study investigated the several views on the environmental problems in the neighboring disciplines of home economics. And on the basis of the results of the study, the direction of environmental movement to be developed in home economics was represented. This study represented the directions of the environmental movement as a new cultural movement in the daily life as follows: alternative life-style, that is, pro-environmental life-style-oriented direction; community-oriented direction such as cooperative association movement in daily life; the politicalization of the environmental problems, that is, the endeavor to reflect the election promise on the environment in the vote, etc. The content of the environmental movement shoed be treated of in environmental education, consumer education, family-life education, school education, and life-long education.
