  • The classification of hazardous area is a method of analysing and classifying the environment where explosive gas or vapour atmosphere may be expected to be present. The object of area classification is to enable the proper selection and installation of electical apparatus and other equipments. This report is intended to serve a general reference about the classification procedure of hazardous area with explanations of related Korean Standard.

  • In this letter, closed-form approximations for outage probability and symbol error rate are presented for a selective decode-and-forward relay network with partial channel information. An independent but not identically distributed Rayleigh fading environment is considered. Numerical and simulated results demonstrate the validity of the analytical results.

  • This study was conducted to provide basic information on the management of natural deciduous forests by presenting suitable stand density over time for natural deciduous forests in Pyungchang Area. The stand density index(SDI) for the sampling point was also computed. The cutting scenarios were adopted by considering the SDI estimated in the sampling point. And then, simulation cutting was enforced to the stand. Cutting scenarios consisted of three cutting levels, with the period of 5 years where each suitable cutting level of selection system will not have the SDI over the maximum SDI throughout 30 years and consider harvest after 30 years. As a result of the simulation cutting, it was found that removing 12% and 14% of basal area per each time kept proper stand density while removing 10% exceed to the adequate basis. From an economic point of view, it was concluded that removal 12% of basal area would be the most suit cutting level in selection system.

  • In this study, we examined the accuracy of the assessment items for selecting start-ups used in the project to support start-ups and verified their validity in determining whether they are appropriate assessment items based on selection criteria. The results of 973 start-ups that applied for the project fostering startup leading universities were collected and logistic regression was performed using SPSS 18.0. The study results are summarized as follows. First, the differences in characteristics of start-ups were identified in terms of selection. Second, the impact of selection by assessment items was gender in 2015, capability of the founder, business establishment in 2016, performance and potential in the global market, and business startup in 2017. Third, the overall selection accuracy analysis for the last three years confirmed that the accuracy of the selection is lower each year and that the accuracy of the selection is lower than the accuracy of the non-selection. This means that the current assessment items for selecting start-ups are inaccurate for selection, and that changes in the items due to changes in the start-up environment each year have led to lower accuracy of selection. It is meaningful that this study raised the importance of assessment items and the need for improvement of assessment items for the screening functions of good start-ups to enhance efficiency of the policies for startup support.

  • Purpose - As the growth potential of the cultural contents industry steadily grows, the cinemas industry is growing fast especially due to popularity and commerciality. The recent in the cinemas industry is evolving on multiplex cinemas that combine cultural facilities such as theaters, restaurants, and shopping centers. Due to the rapid growth of multiplex cinemas, many researchers have studied the characteristics of visiting customers in Korea. Among them, selection attribute of multiplex cinemas, including the service quality and physical environment, is important because it may examines the cause of customer 's behavior. Thus, this research focuses on the effects of the selection attributes of the multiplex cinemas on customer satisfaction and their loyalty. This research suggests the guidelines for how cinemas should manage their customers and build their customers satisfaction and loyalty that improve business performance. Research design, data, and methodology - This study tests the structural relationship between selection attributes of multiplex cinemas, customer satisfaction, and loyalty. selection attributes of multiplex cinemas divide into five sub-dimensions such as movies facility quality, services, cleanliness, accessibility, and snack bars quality. In order to examine the purposes of this research, research model and hypotheses were developed. All constructs were measured with multiple items developed and tested in the previous studies. The data were collected from 100 students in their 10-20s and were analyzed using SPSS 22.0, SmartPLS 3.0 and fsQCA program. Result - The findings of this research are as follows. First, all selection attributes except cleanliness have significant positive impacts on customer satisfaction and loyalty. Second, customer satisfaction has significant positive impact on loyalty. Third, as a result of fsQCA, high satisfaction and high accessibility were the necessary conditions on loyalty. Fourth, the necessary conditions for male and female groups were different. Conclusions - The implications of this study are as follows. Overall, multiplex cinemas should manage selection attributes basically regardless of the type of theater. Especially, cleanliness was not significant, but the customer probably consider it an essential and basic factors. Also, they are able to manage the selection attributes differently depending on the type of gender. For the male customers, it is effective that centralized strategy and for female customers, it is effective that emphasized the multiplex cinemas image.

  • In this study, the priority was assessed and the compensation relationships were analyzed with regard to the issue of port development with conflicts among decision makers. First, the assessment factors were selected by the relevant literatures on port development, and fuzzy structure modeling was used to select assessment factors via structuralization analysis. Second, the local residents, port users, and local government were chosen as the main port-development related entities, and the analytic hierarchy process was used to calculate the total assessment value. Third, the justice based on majority power rule method was used as an assessment method that would minimize the amount of complaints according to the total assessment results and the alternative selection when a partnership was formed among the assessment entities. Moreover, the compensation issue according to the alternative selection was quantified, and the compensation relationships were analyzed. As a result, it was found that port development in Busan must be the top priority in terms of port development in South Korea, that awareness of environmental issues must be promoted among the port users, and that the local governments must promote environmental incentive policies for Environment-friendly port development.
