  • In the rapidly changing high-tech society, lots of people are exposed to various kinds of stress and disease with an effort to adopt to the society, in spite of the benefits and abundance created by various technologies. Therefore, the health of modem people is our main concern and essential subject. The researcher would like to suggest systematical and intelligent medical diagnosis expert system that can give the effect same as the help from real experts with health check helper and scientific and objective knowledge that fit to the age and environment of changing.

  • In this report, we test the features that the outside environment of subscriber lines have an effects on ADSL's electrical transmission performance with a suspected cases of line. I observed an influence of AM broadcasting jamming, and also analysis of an incoming lines of various kinds, a line distance, a connection way, Bridge Tap influencing ADSL's electrical transmis-sion performance. To have a maximum effect of Adsl electrical transmission, I came to a conclusion that we have to make use of the older copper wire cable line to fit the situation at the present and we must change it into the excellent optical fiber cable one by one.

A Study on the Base Flow Recession Curve Development in the Ssangchi Basin of the Sumjin River (섬진강 쌍치유역의 기저유출 감수곡선식 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is establish a recession curve for low flow discharge in the Ssangchi basin. For this study, we selected 34 recession segments and calculated recession constants and initial discharges. The average initial discharge is 0.40 ㎥/sec and the recession constant is 0.86. With using the initial discharge and the recession constant, We got the non-linear recession cure equation. This non-linear equation is more reasonable fit than the linear equation of the recession curve for low flow.

  • The cloud computing environment is a new trend of web based application parts. It can be IT business model that is able to easily support learning service and allocate resources through the internet to users. U-learning also is a maximal model with efficiency of the internet based learning. Thus, in this research, we proposed a design of u-learning's teaching and learning model that is applying the internet based learning. Proposal method is to fit u-learning and has 7 steps: Preparing, planning, gathering, learning process, analysis and evaluation, and feedback. We make a cloud u-learning server and cloud LMS to process and manage the service. And We also make a mobile devices meta data to aware the model.

A Study on Added-Term Relationship of Thesaurus (시소러스의 부가관계에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to present solutions to expanding added-term relations which will fit new information retrieval environment. This report reviews standards for ISO 2788 and ANSI/NISO Z 39.19, and compares and analyzes 20 thesaurus added-term relations currently used to find out problems and limitations. Based on findings of the study, this report suggests how to expand thesaurus added-term relations to accomodate changes in information retrieval environment. In order to solve those problems, this report presents solutions to expanding added-term relationships as follows: First, definition was separated from scope note and scope note is categorized by type. Second, principles for the use of qualifiers are presented. Third, principles for expanding of descriptor term information are presented.

MIMO Capacity, Level Crossing Rates and Fades: The Impact of Spatial/Temporal Channel Correlation

  • It is well known that Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems offer the promise of achieving very high spectrum efficiencies (many tens of bit/s/Hz) in a mobile environment. The gains in MIMO capacity are sensitive to the presence of spatial and temporal correlation introduced by the radio environment. In this paper, we examine how MIMO capacity is influenced by a number of factors e.g., a) temporal correlation b) various combinations of low/high spatial correlations at either end, c) combined spatial and temporal correlations. In all cases, we compare the channel capacity that would be achievable under independent fading. We investigate the behaviour of "capacity fades," examine how often the capacity experiences the fades, develop a method to determine level crossing rates and average fade durations and relate these to antenna numbers. We also evaluate the influence of channel correlation on the capacity autocorrelation and assess the fit of a Gaussian random process to the temporal capacity sequence. Finally we note that the particular spatial correlation structure of the MIMO channel is influenced by a large number of factors. For simplicity, it is desirable to use a single overall correlation measure which parameterizes the effect of correlation on capacity. We verify this single parameter concept by simulating a large number of different spatially correlated channels.

On autonomous decentralized evolution of holon network

  • The paper demonstrates that holon networks can be used effectively for identification of nonlinear dynamical systems. The emphasis of the paper is on modeling of complicated systems which have a great deal of uncertainty and unknown interactions between their elements and parameters. The concept of applying a quantitative model building, for example, to environmental or ecological systems is not new. In a previous paper we presented a holon network model as an another alternative to quantitative modeling. Holon networks have a hierarchical construction where each level of hierarchy consists of networks with reciprocal actions among their elements. The networks are able to evolve by self-organizing their structure and adapt their parameters to environments. This was achieved by an autonomous decentralized adaptation algorithm. In this paper we propose a new emergent evolution algorithm. In this algorithm the initial holon networks consists of only a few elements and it grows gradually with each new observation in order to fit their function to the environment. Some examples show that this algorithm can lead to a network structure which has sufficient flexibility and adapts well to the environment.

Characteristics of Probability Distribution of BOD Concentration in Anseong Stream Watershed (안성천 유역의 BOD농도 확률분포 특성)

  • It is very important to know the probability distribution of water-quality constituents for water-quality control and management of rivers and reservoirs effectively. The probability distribution of BOD in Anseong Stream was analyzed in this paper using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test which is widely used goodness-of-fit method. It was known that the distribution of BOD in Anseong Stream is closer to Log-normal, Gamma and Weibull distributions than Normal distribution. Normal distribution can be partially applied depending on significance level, but Log-normal, Gamma and Weibull distributions can be used in any significance level. Also the estimated Log-normal distribution of BOD at Jinwi3 station was to be compared with the measured in 2001, 2002 and 2003 years. It was revealed that the estimated probability distribution of BOD at Jinwi3 follows a theoretical distribution very well. The applicable probability distribution of BOD can be used to explain more rigorously and scientifically the achievement or violation of target concentration in TMDL(Total Maximum Daily Load).

  • In this paper, a new program recommendation system is proposed to recommend user preferred VOD program in IPTV environment. A proposed system is implemented with collaborative filtering method. For a user profile which describes user program preference, a program preference, sub-genre preference, and US(user similarity) weight of the user neighborhood is averaged and updated every week. In order to evaluate system performance, real 24-weeks cable TV watching data provided by Nilson Research Corp. are modified to fit for IPTV broadcasting environment and the simulation result shows quite comparative quality of recommendation. The experimental results optimum performance when user similarity based weighting, five person per group and five recommendation programs are used.

  • The purpose of this study is to consider the origin and kinds of tango and to analyze formative characteristics of tango dance costume. On the basis of the review of literature about tango, photos of tango dance and modern fashion collections designed by tango themes are analysed to examine design elements which are essentially considered in dance costume design. The result of this study are as follows: This study shows the different characteristics of tango dance costume depend on the kind of tango. In case of Argentina tango, sheath silhouette dress and black color are preferred, for Continental tango, fit and flare silhouette which gives convenient movement in dress and white color emphasize the elegant movement are preferred. America tango accentuates the body movement by fitted silhouette, metallic materials, and bead trimmings in dress. The result of the analysis of recent fashion collection shows that characteristics especially strong and sensual tango are mainly an inspiring motive and reinterpreted by designers in modern fashion.
