A fiber-optic magnetic sensor system for the detection of small ac magnetic field(200Hz-2 kHz) was constructed. Magnetic field sensing part was fabricated by bonding a section of optical fiber to amorphous metallic glass(2605SC) having large magnetostriction effect. And with the directional coupler, all fiber type Mach-Zehnder interferometer was constructed to measure the variation of the external magnetic field by translating it into the optical phase shift in the interferometer. The signal fading problem of the interferometer, which is due to random phase drifts originated from the environment, i.e., temperature fluctuation, vibrations, etc., was elliminated by feedback phase compensation. This allows the sensitivity to be maintained at the maximum by keeping the interferometer in quadrature phase condition. The frequency response of metallic glass was found to be nearly flat in the range of 90 Hz-2 kHz and dc bias field for the maximum ac response was 3.5 Oe. The interferometer output showed good linearity over the range $\pm$0.5 Oe. For 1 kHz ac magnetic field the scale factor S and the minimum detectable magnetic field were measured to be 8.0 rad/Oe and $3X10^{-6} Oe/\sqrt{Hz}$at 1 Hz detection bandwidth respectively.

This study was carried out to estimate the benthic environments and polychaetous community in Garolim Bay, through five field surveys from April 2006 to April 2007. Garilim Bay is a semi-enclosed bay and composed of a biramous tidal channel and nearby wide tidal flats. Surface sediment in the inner bay was composed of fine grained particles whereas that in the mouth area of bay was of coarse grained ones. Benthic polychaete worms were the most dominant taxa occupying 65.1% of total benthic macrofauna. Species number was higher in the inner bay than mouth and outer area of bay, and in the bay higher on the tidal flat than channel area. Density was higher on the tidal flat than channel area. Dominant polychaetous species were Prionospio sp., Heteromastus filiformis, Lumbrineris longifolia and so on, which is known as opportunistic species. Prionospio sp. and H. filiformis inhabited mainly on the tidal flats in inner bay, while L. longifolia in the channel area and mouth of the bay. Cluster analysis and nMDS showed the typical inner-to-outward distribution of station groups, which indicated the sequential difference of the species composition of each station group. To assess the benthic healthiness of Garolim Bay by AMBI and BPI analysis, the benthic condition was analyzed from slightly polluted in the outer and mouth of the bay to moderately polluted in the inner bay. Assumed from dominant species composition and benthic healthiness condition, benthic environments of Garolim Bay was slightly unstable and disturbed and organic enrichment was currently underway by massed fisheries farms.
Four species of water fleas (Daphnia magna, Daphnia pulex, Daphnia galeata, and Moina macrocopa) were examined for the clarification of their reproduction with culture conditions. The reproduction tests of water flea by the culture conditions were carried out. For the comparison of the reproduction rate, five media (manure-soil medium, DIN medium, M4 medium, EPA medium, fertilizer medium) were applied to determine the best medium. Daphnia magna, Daphnia pulex, and Moina macrocopa were appeared the best reproduction in the manure-soil medium at $20^{\circ}C.$ The lifespan and young reproduction were better in manure-soil medium than the others. But Daphnia galeata was lived for 34 days in the fertilizer medium at $20^{\circ}C.$ The culture of Daphnia galeata was difficult to rear than the other species. In the current study, the microcystin of Microcystis sp. did not particularly affect on the survival of water fleas. But the lifespan was short and the reproduction rate was low. Therefore water flea have a preference for Scenedesmus sp. than Microcystis sp. On the condition of the feeding Scenedesmus sp., all examined water fleas appeared to have the longest lifespan and the most young water fleas produced at any medium and temperature as compared with the feeding the Microcystis sp. For the culture temperature, the lifespan was longer on $20^{\circ}C$ than $15^{\circ}C$.
Present study aims to investigate the effect of muddy water on the gill and the kidney tissues of Zacco koreanus under high turbidity rearing condition. The gill of Z. koreanus showed abnormal shapes in its secondary lamellae and a rough surface with impure debris in the high level of turbidity and the longer raising period condition. In addition, the gills showed the edema, the exfoliation of epithelial cell, and the fusion of the secondary lamellae. In case of kidney tissue, the atrophied glomerulus was observed, and the empty space in Bowman's capsule was wider. The SOD activities in both gill and kidney tissues were increased in proportion to the high level of turbidity. On the while, CAT and GPX activities were shown constant level in the gill, but were increased in the kidney in the high turbid muddy water. These results indicate that the harmful radicals which generate by high level of turbidity could be removed partly by antioxidant enzymes in the kidney. The concentrations of micro heavy metal ions accumulated in the gill increased drastically at the 1,000 NTU. Based on the above results, it is considered that the exposure to the high level of turbidity for long period may affect on the structures of tissues, and change the enzymatic balance in Z. koreanus, causing the fatal disease.
As the development of Northeast Asian logistics hub becomes one of the national agenda for further development, the sea&Air transport around the Yellow Sea regions has drawn attention of many scholars and government officials. The Sea&air transport is a mode of transportation combining the advantage of high-speed in air transport with the advantage of low-price in sea transport. Hence the sea&air aims at a niche market between air and sea. This paper reviews the possibility of development of the sea&air transport in the aspects of competitiveness over other modes, future demand condition, and the change of the technology and transport environment. The result is that the sea&air is competitive in the aspect of time as well as cost, and sustainable in the aspect of future demand condition. But, it is not stable in the aspect of the conditions of technology or transport demand. Especially, the progress of air transport technology which is aiming at the door-to-door transport among mid- and small- cities, and the rapidly increasing strategic alliances of international airlines with Chinese airlines for the market of China will undermine the stability of the sea&air transport seriously As alternatives, this paper proposes the 3-stage development strategy of sea&air transport. First, at the stage of transshipement, the development of high speed vessels to reduce the time crossing the Yellow Sea and the proactive marketing strategy to induce Chinese-owned products should be emphasized. Second, the value added logistics activity which will secure the demand of the sea&air transport should be developed. Third, demand creation by developing the SCM hub in Incheon is final goal for the logistics hub strategy as well as the sea&air transport.

This paper proposes a image-based water level measurement method, which adapt to the ruler's surface condition. When the surface of a ruler is deteriorated by mud, drifts, or strong light reflection, the proposed method judges the pollution of ruler by comparing distance between two levels: the first one is the end position of horizontal edge region which keeps the pattern of ruler's marking, and the second one is the position where the sharpest drop occurs in the histogram which is construct using image density based on the axis of image height. If the ruler is polluted, the water level is a position of local valley of the section having a maximum difference between the local peak and valley around the second level. If the ruler is not polluted, the water level is detected as the position having horizontal edges more than 30% of histogram's maximum value around the first level. The detected water level is converted to the actual water level by using the mapping table which is construct based on the making of ruler in the image. The proposed method is compared to the ultrasonic based method to evaluate its accuracy and efficiency on the real situation.
Estimating the electrical conductivity of the saturation-paste (SP) is a common method to assess soil salinity. To assess soil salinity realistically, it is important to extract soil solution under field capacity. However, few studies on salinity assessment have been conducted for soil solution extracted under field capacity (-33 kPa; FC) moisture condition due to difficulty in soil solution extraction. This study was conducted to evaluate whether saturation-paste can represent field condition. Soil solutions were extracted from 22 soils in the plastic film house (PFH) and 18 soils in the reclaimed land (RL) at saturation and field capacity moisture conditions. Those were analyzed for pH, EC, cations ($K^+$, $Ca^{2+}$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Na^+$) and anions ($Cl^-$, ${NO_3}^-$, ${PO_4}^{3-}$, ${SO_4}^{2-}$). Both cations and anions of soil solution extracted from FC showed high correlations with ions extracted from SP in the PFH and the RL, except for ${NO_3}^-$, ${PO_4}^{3-}$ in the RL. Results of the t-test, the ECe and $EC_{FC}$ were not significant at significance level 0.05. The slopes of the equations between $EC_{FC}$ and ECe at more than sand 50% soils were higher than less than sand 50% soils, and differences of saturation percentage between SP and FC showed larger as increasing sand percentage. EC was related to soil water retention by soil texture. To determine the EC, soil texture and other soil properties which effect the soil moisture should be considered.

Objectives: This study was conducted to examine the subjects' oral health status and changes in the oral environment after mouthwash with effervescent Vitamin C and its intake and to understand the impact on changes in the number of bacteria causing periodontal diseases in the oral cavity based on the oral health status and oral environmental condition. Methods: After obtaining approval from the Institutional Review Board of D-University, 45 people (24 in an experimental group and 21 in a control group) who participated in the oral health program were selected, among visitors of the Clinical Dental Hygienics Laboratory of D. University in B. Results: Based on the subjects' periodontal health status, the number of bacteria causing periodontal diseases in the oral cavity decreased in both experimental and control groups before and after the experiment. However, in the experimental group, it was significant when the Bleeding on Probing(BOP) level was below average, and Calculus index(CAL) was above average, in Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and the red complex. It was also significant when CAL was above average in the orange complex in the control group. Regarding bacterial changes in periodontal diseases based on the subjects' oral environmental condition, there was a significant change in the Adenosine Tri Phosphate (ATP : intraoral contaminants test) test in the oral cavity in A. actinomycetemcomitans and the red complex in the experimental group and in the O'Leary index in the control group. Further, there was a significant change in the orange complex in the ATP test in the experimental group. Conclusions: A comprehensive analysis of the results revealed that the oral health care program for dental hygiene decreased the number of bacteria causing periodontal diseases in the oral cavity in both experimental and control groups.
Precise investigation and interpretation of the ground subsidence risk factors needed to predict and evaluate the settlement problems of the surrounding ground due to the ground excavation. There are various geophysical exploration methods to investigate the ground subsidence risk factors. However, there are factors that influence the characteristics of the underground medium in these geophysical methods, and the actual soil contains complex factors affecting geophysical exploration. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the effects on the geophysical methods based on the understanding of the geotechnical properties of soil. In this study, a test bed was constructed to consider various complicated factors in the complex ground and the ground behavior was analyzed by numerical analysis. In addition, we analyzed the limitations on investigating the ground subsidence risk factors through ground penetration radar (GPR) survey. As a result, ground subsidence of Open-cut Type Excavation is caused by various factors. Especially, in the case of soft ground condition, it was found that it was greatly influenced by the flow change of groundwater level. At the center frequency of GPR of 250 MHz, the attenuation of the electromagnetic wave is severely attenuated in the clay with high electrical conductivity, making it difficult to penetrate deeply into the ground (4 m below the surface). As the electromagnetic waves pass through the groundwater level below the groundwater, the attenuation of the electromagnetic waves becomes severe.

Background: In this study, we observed their growth and physiological responses using a variety of duty ratio under the mixed light using red, blue, and white lights. The red+blue mixed light was treated with 95%, 90%, 85%, 80%, and 75% duty ratios and red+blue+white mixed light with 85% and 70% duty ratios. We examined the width and length of leaves, total number of leaves, and number of shoots to examine their growth responses. The physiological responses were studied by measuring their photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, water use efficiency, chlorophyll content, and fluorescence ($F_o$, $F_m$, and $F_v/F_m$). Results: We found that lower duty ratio caused the length and width of the leaves to grow longer under red+blue mixed light but that it did not cause any difference in the red+blue+white mixed light condition. In addition, there was no difference in the number of leaves and shoots among all treatments. In the red+blue mixed light condition, the photosynthetic rate was no difference, but both transpiration rate and stomatal conductance were the highest at 95% duty ratio than in other ratios. Water use efficiency pattern was similar to that of photosynthetic rate; water use efficiency was no difference. Chlorophyll content was the highest at 95% duty ratios, and it was the least at 90%, 85%, and 75% duty ratio. $F_o$ and $F_m$ values were relatively high at 85% and 80% duty ratio and low at 90% duty ratio while $F_v/F_m$ showed no difference. Conclusions: Under the red+blue+white mixed light, all physiological items showed no difference between 70 and 85% treatments. But, photosynthetic rate, water use efficiency, chlorophyll content, and $F_v/F_m$ were relatively greater in the red+blue+white mixed light than in the red+blue mixed light. Therefore, red+blue+white mixed light treated with 70% duty ratio could lessen the environmental stress and save more power when cultivating Silene capitata in a plant factory.
