  • This study was conducted for the purpose of evaluating the impressions gained by the members of the audience who have seen contents in a dome theater, based on their seating positions. Dome Theater Gaia provided the environment where the contents for evaluation were to be presented, and enquete (survey) was used as the investigative method. The survey results showed that the presentation of wide-viewing-angle three-dimensional (3D) contents proved effective in enhancing the 3D effect and the presence in a dome theater. Moreover, the study results confirmed that in relation to the impression evaluation of the contents for different seating positions, the optimal seating position varied according to the presentation method of the 3D and 2D contents.

  • Enhancement of the hyperthermia effect in FsaII fibrosarcoma of C3H mice in vivo by amiloride and 4,4- diisothiocyanatostilbene.2,2'-disulfonic acid (DIDS) was studied. Heating alone significantly increased the tumor lactic acid content and lowered the tumor energy levels, as indicated by the PCr and ATP contents which were measured using invasive chemical analysis. An i.p. injection of amiloride, DIDS, or amiloride combined with DIDS prior to heating further increased the lactic acid content and reduced the energy status in the tumors. Amiloride and DIDS may be useful in increasing the therapeutic efficacy of hyperthermia treatments by enhancing the reduction in tumor pH.

  • Recently, technical trend in machine tools is focused on enhancing of speed, accuracy and reliability. The high speed usually results in thermal displacement and structural deformation. To minimize the thermal effect, precision machine tools adopt a high precision cooling system. This study proposes a temperature control for an oil cooler system using Pill control with fuzzy logic. In the cooler system, refrigerant flow rate is controlled by rotational speed of a compressor, and outlet oil temperature is selected as the control variable. The fuzzy control rules iteratively correct PID parameters to minimize the error and difference between the outlet temperature and the reference temperature. Here, ambient temperature is used as the reference one. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, a series of experiments are conducted for an oil cooler system of machine tools, and the results are compared with the ones of a conventional Pill control. The experimental results show that the proposed method has advantages of faster response and smaller overshoot.

  • A cytotoxic sesquiterpene against L1210 cell has been isolated from the root of Curcuma domestica. Its structure was identified as ${\beta}-sesquiphellandrene$. The cytotoxicity-potentiating substance was (+)-ar-turmerone. (+)-ar-Turmerone potentiated the cytotoxicity of ${\beta}-sesquiphellandrene$(5 fold in $ED_{50}$ value) and an unknown sesquiterpene which was isolated from the root as well, and that of aurapten(6.3 fold) isolated from the unripe fruit of Poncirus trifoliata. Moreover, it potentiated the cytotoxic activities of MeCCNU 10 fold and cyclophosphamide 10 fold. Except the fact that all the effective cytotoxic substances possess relatively good lipophilicity, no relationship between structures of the cytotoxic substances and the cytotoxicity-enhancing effect of (+)-ar-turmerone could be observed.

  • In this work, we prepared Mg nanoparticles loaded graphite oxide (Mg-G) as a function of Mg content in order to investigate hydrogen storage behaviors. The structure and morphology of the Mg-G samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The textural properties of the samples were evaluated using $N_2$/77 K adsorption isotherms. The hydrogen adsorption capacities were investigated at 298 K/10 MPa. As a result, the hydrogen adsorption capacities of the Mg-G were enhanced with increasing the Mg content. Therefore, it was found that the presence of Mg on graphite surfaces created hydrogen-favorable sites, resulting in enhancing the hydrogen adsorption capacity.

  • New & renewable energy technology development has been carrying out in 11 different areas so far. Many technologies are being applied to the required areas according to its own characteristics. Before launching the development, these technologies have been evaluated by their commercial effect and contribution to energy supply. In this paper, the impact factors enhancing the distribution of renewable energy were developed to select appropriate diffusion regulations for each technology area. In addition, AHP methodology was introduced to investigate priorities of the regulations along with weights of impact factors.

  • The effects of phosphate concentration in the medium, feeding of biosynthetic precursor, and the addition of exogenous berberine on cell growth and berberine production were studied in cell suspension cultures of Thalictrum rugosum. The depletion of phosphate in the medium enhanced the specific productivity up to twofold with significant release of berberine into the medium. Extracellular berberine was 19% of the total in the culture without phosphate while it was 2-5% of total berberine in the culture with even low amounts of phosphate. Precursor feeding was not effective in enhancing alkaloid formation. Initial presence of exogenous berberine did not have much effect on cell growth and alkaloid production. It was found that the cells have the capacity to take up large quantities of berberine. When $500{\;}mg{\cdot}l^{-1}$ of berberine was added exogenously at the beginning, 81% of total berberine was found in the cells.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide a review of the background information regarding to the role of workplace on affecting people's performance. In today's industry creativity has a very special and important place because of the dynamic organizational changes and rapid growth of technology. To support these new working styles and specifically, to support creativity within an organization, flexible workplaces are often suggested. Since open-plan office offers more flexibility when compared to completely closed and private ones, they are seen to have more capabilities and are highly valued in today's industry. So the result of this study will contribute towards enhancing the understanding of the effect office design to enhance employees' performance, especially in creative tasks.

  • An acid amplifier is defined as an acid-generating agent which is decomposed autocatalytically to produce new strongly acidic molecules in a non-liner manner, The addition of the acid amplifiers to conventional chemically amplified photoresists consisting of photoacid generators and acid-sensitive polymers result in the improvement of photosensitivity due to the amplified generation of catalytic acid molecules as a result of the decomposition of acid amplifiers. We synthesized and evaluated 1-hydroxy-4-tosyloxy cyclohexane(AA-1) and 1,4-ditosyloxy cyclohexane(Ah-2) as novel acid amplifiers. The acid amplifiers(AA-1, AA-2) showed reasonable thermal stability for resist processing temperature. As estimated by the sensitivity curve, tort-butyl methacrylate homopolymer(ptBMA) film doped with AA-1 or 2 exhibited much higher photosensitivity than ptBMA film without AA-1 or 2. And AA-1 showed higher effect than AA-2 on enhancing photosensitivity of ptBMA film.

  • As organization's success depends on how much employees are active in recognizing new knowledge and transform into organization's value, this study is to examine the influence of employees' self-directed learning capacity on organizational absorptive capacity, organizational commitment and job involvement. The study has shown that managerial level employees have high level of self-directed learning capacity, and employees who have such high level capacity also shown to have high level of absorptive capacity and organizational affective commitment and job involvement. There were static correlations between all the variables, and absorptive capacity has a complete meditated effect on each variables. Hence, in order to enhance absorptive capacity, organizations should put their effort to develop employees' self-directed learning capacity, which will not only improve individual competency but also lead to organization's success in this competitive global market.
