  • When computing the flow around complex three dimensional configurations, the generation of the grid is the most time consuming. This paper presents a survey of the grid generation technique. The technique for treating problems arising in gird generation for complex geometries is addressed. A general procedure for generating boundary conforming grids is included

  • We predict the electromagnetic wave propagation in space environments using geometrical optics. The effective indices of the troposphere, stratosphere, and ionosphere are computed, and the reflection, refraction, and attenuation of electromagnetic waves in space environments are calculated based on the ray tracing technique and geometrical optics. The influence of the refractive index and loss of atmosphere and the incident angle of the antenna on electromagnetic wave propagation is discussed.

  • We report on a simple method of fabricating multimode transflective liquid crystal displays (LCDs) using the photoalignment technique. Using a self-masking process of ultraviolet light by the reflector as a photomask as well as a reflective mirror, the periodic multimode is obtained with no additional fabrication processes. Moreover, variations of the cell gap are not required for such trasflective LCDs

  • The effects of high frequency noises on a perturbational inversion technique for a stratified dispersive medium are investigated in this paper. It is shown that the perturbational solution becomes unstable under high frequency noises. The physical origin of this instability is described. In order to enhance the robustness of the perturbational inverse scattering solution, a parametric inversion technique is introduced. The examples for the 2-pole and the 3-pole reflection coefficients are compared and contrasted, and improvement of the robustness of the solutions is shown.

  • We demonstrated a replica molding technique for producing a self-formed multidomain structure displays (LCDs). The multidomain structure was naturally obtained on a replica mold film having periodic patterns which have two dimensional microgrooves. It was found that with the axially symmetric multidomain structure along the microgrooves exhibits excellent viewing characteristics.

  • The validation technique is classified with two methods whether to demand of additional experimental points. The method which requires additional experimental points such as RSME is actually impossible in engineering field. Therefore, the method which only use experimented points such as the cross validation technique is only available. But the cross validation not only requires considerable computational costs for generating metamodel each iterations, but also cannot measure quantitatively the fidelity of metamodel. In this research we propose a new validation technique for representative metamodels using an variance of metamodel and confidence interval information. The proposed validation technique computes confidence intervals using a variance information from the metamodel. This technique will have influence on choosing the accurate metamodel, constructing ensemble of each metamodels and advancing effectively sequential sampling technique.

  • In this paper, we propose an effective reversible data hiding technique that increases the confidential data hiding amount of the NSAS technique itself by utilizing the characteristics of image. The proposed technique shifts the histogram using multiple zeros of the histogram and hides 2 bits of confidential data at each peak point. Using the proposed technique, the amount of confidential data that can be hidden is doubled compared to the existing technique, and high-quality stego-image can be created. Confidential data can be restored without loss from the stego- image, and the original cover image can be restored without loss. Through experiments, it was confirmed that the proposed technique can hide twice as much confidential data than the existing technique, and the image quality of the stego-image is very good with a maximum of 39.75dB.

  • Energy harvesting technique is an energy charging technique for communication device in energy-constrained environment. Recently, energy harvesting technique that harvests energy from wireless radio frequency signal is proposed. Representatively, there are time switching technique and power splitting technique. This paper proposes an optimal harvesting time allocation scheme in a wireless cognitive relay network when secondary user relay uses energy harvesting technique to transmit information. Secondary user relay receives information and energy simultaneously from the secondary user source's signal via time switching technique. We aim to maximize the instantaneous throughput by optimizing harvesting time of the secondary user relay. Simulation results show that using optimized harvesting time gets larger instantaneous throughput compared to using constant harvesting time.
