CS-PDM Series Resonant High Frequency Inverter for Copy Machine

  • This paper presents the two lossless auxiliary inductors-assisted voltage source type half bridge (single ended push pull: SEPP) series resonant high frequency inverter for induction heated fixing roller in copy and printing machines. The simple high-frequency inverter treated here can completely achieve stable zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation for wide its output power regulation ranges and load variations under its constant high frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme. Its transient and steady state operating principle is originally described and discussed for a constant high-frequency PDM control strategy under a stable ZCS operation commutation, together with its output effective power regulation characteristics-based on the high frequency PDM strategy. The experimental operating performances of this voltage source SEPP ZCS-PDM series resonant high frequency inverter using IGBTs are illustrated as compared with computer simulation results and experimental ones. Its power losses analysis and actual efficiency are evaluated and discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results. The feasible effectiveness of this high frequency inverter appliance implemented here is proved from the practical point of view.

  • This paper presents a general proposal to design and calculate the performance of a tubular permanent magnet linear generator treated here on the basis of the Finite Element Method. Optimizing the linear generator dimensions reduces the cogging force, which occurs due to the interaction between stator teeth and the permanent magnets. The generated AC voltage is analyzed and evaluated for both no load and load cases to take the armature reaction effects on the air gap flux density. A repetitive routine is followed to calculate the output AC voltage from the change of flux and the speed of the single-phase linear generator. The AC output voltage is calculated for different resistive loads, and hence, the linear generator load characteristic is obtained. The designed linear generator is capable to generate an output power of 5.3kW with AC output voltage of 222V with an efficiency of 96.8% at full load of 23.8A. The full load current is chosen based on the thermal properties of the coil wire insulations.

  • 본연구는 철도차량의 객실 전기 난방기를 절전형 온수겸용 전기난방기로 대체 하게되면 겨울철 객차내의 세면장 온수를 별도로 데울 필요 없이 온수를 사용 할수 있으며 승객의 서비스향상에 기할 수 있다.에너지 고 효율화로 인한 에너지 절감 그리고 연료비용의 절감으로 인한 경영개선을 이룰수 있으며 또한 환경 오염을 방지할 수 있으므로 철도차량의 객실내 난방을 위하여 앞으로 활용도가 높을것으로 전망되며 점차 확대될 것으로 예상된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 바이오센서 네트워크를 이용하여 에너지 효율을 고려한 홈 네트워크 해충 감지 시스템 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안된 프로토콜의 기본 아이디어 및 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 소스와 목적지 사이의 경로를 설정하기 위한 에너지 효율과 안정성 기반의 시분할적인 트리 구조 경로 설정방법. 둘째, 멀티홉을 이용한 방향성이 있는 Data Gathering 구조이다. 설정된 트리구조의 경로위로 패킷 데이터를 전송 할 때 전력 절약 및 경로의 lifetime을 효과적으로 지원하기 위해서 선택적 플러딩을 사용한다. 이로 인해 각 노드의 전력을 절약하고 전송 지연(transmission delay)를 줄임으로써 전체 네트워크의 lifeime이 향상되고 홈 네트워크상의 효율성이 향상된다. 제안된 프로토콜의 성능평가는 OPNET(Optimized Network Engineering Tool)을 사용하여 이루어진다.

  • Because the hospital building operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for treatment and restoration of patients, it has a different pattern of energy use than that of ordinary buildings. Hospitals contribute to energy consumption and have a negative environmental impact. This study aims to find how meaningful energy performance, reflecting good energy management and ECMs, can be operated for hospital buildings, a category encompassing complex buildings with different systems and large differences between them. In this study, we proposed the energy diagnosis & evaluation method and energy management process to verify energy saving through operation data based on system & facility characteristics, operation pattern and energy consumption characteristics of hospital building. Energy consumption structures were surveyed throughout 4 reference hospital in Seoul, Korea. Findings confirm that different hospital departments have hugely different energy-demand profiles. Energy efficiency and energy saving potentials are presented. The energy performance analysis can be applied to a wide range of problems in energy-system operation.

  • This paper considered the energy saving problem of D.C. motor in arbitrary load condition. We can improve efficiency by maintaining the proper ratio of armature current/field current. First, the condition of maximizing the efficiency was obtained, and then the real time control was implemented by using microprocessors. As a result, the efficiency was improved in spite of constant output. For example, the efficiency at 1/5 load was improved from 56.7% to 80%.

  • Until now, measures for energy saving in buildings have been tried. Because particularly the role of buildings area is very important for implementing national greenhouse gas reduction targets and Green growth. But, lack of business linkages between each sector or the interest and participation of private sector are not enough. In addition, relevant personnel to do had not been systematized. It is expected that certification services will be increased according to the activation of Building Energy Efficiency Rating System and expansion of the target buildings so Government must be prepared to expand of certification system by training Professional staff. In this study, the basic data for the introduction of obligation of Building Energy Efficiency Rating System is suggested through analysis of the operating and laws system of Building Energy Efficiency Rating System along with efforts of Government for diffusion low energy buildings.

Methods to Reduce Greenhouse Gas for University Buildings to Make a Low-Carbon Green Campus - With Case Study on the 'E' University -

  • University buildings are energy-guzzling facility that consume more than 10,000TOE within a campus annually. Even the consumption is on an upswing trend. Behind such high consumption are there cheap power rates for education facility, lack of high-efficiency equipment and ever-increasing use of various information equipment. Being keenly aware that greenhouse gas emission increases due to such rise of energy consumption, the present study carried out a case study. In the case study, the study chose the buildings of E university from top 10 universities that consume energy most in Seoul and examined the current status of their energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission. And then it set the reduction target of greenhouse gas by year. Putting aside a middle and long-termed strategy for later endeavor, it first established the 1st year's implementation plan (2014) for energy saving and greenhouse gas reduction with limited budget and according to greenhouse gas reduction target. The plan is specified as follows. Targets for energy saving are mainly divided into two sectors: machine equipment and electric equipment. 7 ideas were proposed. Three ideas to improve machine equipment are to replace with high-efficiency boilers and chillers and to adjust the position of the cooling tower. By doing so, it was estimated that energy could be saved by 176.34TOE in total and greenhouse gas could be reduced by 370.771t$CO_2$-eq. Four ideas to improve electric equipment include the replacement with LED lights, LED emergency lights and high-efficiency motors and the installation of motion sensors. It was calculated that such replacement could conserve 1,076.08TOE (electric energy) and reduce 2,181.420t$CO_2$-eq (greenhouse gas).

무선 환경에서 새로운 에너지 절약형 전송 프로토콜 (A New Energy Saving Transport Protocol in Wireless Environments)

  • 무선 네트워크는 한정된 배터리 전원에 의존하는 이동 휴대 기기를 사용하기 때문에 무선 통신 프로토콜을 설계하는데 있어서 에너지 효율에 대한 고려가 필요하게 되었다. 무선 환경에서 대표적인 TCP 성능 향상 연구 중에 하나인 TCP-Westwood는 ACK를 이용한 샘플링 기법으로 가용 대역폭을 측정한다. 측정한 가용 대역폭을 이용해서 효과적인 데이타 전송을 할 수 있다는 장점을 갖는 반면에, TCP-Westwood 송신단이 무선 구간에 있을 경우에 대한 고려가 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 TCP-Westwood의 송신단이 무선 구간에 있을 경우에 발생하는 문제점을 보완하기 위해서 새로운 전송 프로토콜인 E2TP(Energy Efficient Transport Protocol)를 제안한다. 제안한 E2TP는 패킷 손실이 발생할 경우에는 일시적인 전송 단위 조절을 이용한 재전송 방법을 사용하여 보다 효과적인 데이타 전송을 수행한다. E2TP의 성능을 검증하기 위한 실험 결과, E2TP가 전송률 및 에너지 효율 측면에서 TCP와 TCP-Westwood보다 성능이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.
