Procedural generation methods based on physical-based materials generate data by algorithms rather than manual through combinations with artist-generated assets based on computer-generated randomness algorithms. For this reason, the procedural generation method is mainly used to produce textures of 3D models in the field of computer graphics because it is easy to obtain the desired quality with little data. This study is a study on physical-based materials and procedural generation methods based on them. Physical-based materials are divided into Metallic/Roughness workflows and Specific/Glossiness workflows. These two methods produce the same results, which are more accurate based on the law of conservation of energy. The procedural generation method allows a natural texture to be obtained very quickly by texturing through a combination of a computer-generated random algorithm and an artist-generated asset based on various maps.

After Japanese Fukushima nuclear power plant accident caused by the beyond design basis earthquake and tsunami, it has turned to be a major challenge for nuclear safety. IAEA, US NRC and EU have provided new safety design standards for beyond design basis event, Domestic regulatory bodies have also enacted guidances for licensees and applicants on additional methods related to beyond design basis events. This paper describes several evaluation methods for applying to nuclear power plants piping for beyond design basis earthquake. As a results, energy method based on the absorbed energy on nuclear power plant, deterministic method following design code and theory, experience method considering past earthquake data and information and probabilistic methods similar to probabilistic risk assessment were reviewed.
The purpose of this study is to present rational methods of multi-criteria optimization of the shape of energy saving buildings. The object is to determine the optimum dimension of the shape of a building, based on the following criteria: minimum building costs (including the cost of materials and construction) and yearly heating costs. Mathematical model described heat losses and gains in a building during the heating season. It takes into consideration heat losses through wall, roof, floor and windows. Particular attention was paid to have a more detailed description of heat gains due to solar radiation. On the assumption that shape of building is rectangle in order to solve the problem, the proportions of wall length and building height are determined by using non-linear programing methods(Kuhn-Tucker Conditions). The results constitute information for designers on the optimum proportions of wall lengths, height, and the ratios of window to wall areas for energy saving buildings.
Interest in music recognition has been growing dramatically after NHN and Daum released their mobile applications for music recognition in 2010. Methods in music recognition based on audio analysis fall into two categories: music recognition using audio fingerprint and Query-by-Singing/Humming (QBSH). While music recognition using audio fingerprint receives music as its input, QBSH involves taking a user-hummed melody. In this paper, research trends are described for music recognition using audio fingerprint, focusing on two methods: one based on fingerprint generation using energy difference between consecutive bands and the other based on hash key generation between peak points. Details presented in the representative papers of each method are introduced.

Recently, as the demand for limited resources continues to rise and problems of resource depletion rise worldwide, the importance of renewable energy is gradually increasing. In order to solve these problems, various methods such as energy conservation and alternative energy development have been suggested, and biogas, which can utilize the gas produced from biomass as fuel, is also receiving attention as the next generation of innovative renewable energy. New and renewable energy using biogas is an energy production method that is expected to be possible in large scale because it can supply energy with high efficiency in compliance with energy supply method of recycling conventional resources. In order to more efficiently produce and manage these biogas, a biogas plant has emerged. In recent years, a large number of biogas plants have been installed and operated in various locations. Organic wastes corresponding to biogas production resources in a biogas plant exist in a wide variety of types, and each of the incoming raw materials is processed in different processes. Because such a process is required, the case where the biogas plant process is inefficiently operated is continuously occurring, and the economic cost consumed for the operation of the biogas production relative to the generated biogas production is further increased. In order to solve such problems, various attempts such as process analysis and feedback based on the feedstock have been continued but it is a passive method and very limited to operate a medium/large scale biogas plant. In this paper, we propose "CNN-based production yield prediction algorithm for increasing process efficiency of biogas plant" for efficient operation of biogas plant process. Based on CNN-based production yield forecasting, which is one of the deep-leaning technologies, it enables mechanical analysis of the process operation process and provides a solution for optimal process operation due to process-related accumulated data analyzed by the automated process.

Two approximate methods based on mechanism analysis suitable for seismic assessment/design of structural concrete are reviewed. The methods involve use of equal energy concept or equal displacement concept along with appropriate patterns of inelastic deformations to relate structure's maximum lateral displacement to member and plastic deformations. One of these methods (Clough's method), defined here as a ductility-based approach, is examined in detail and a modification for its improvement is suggested. The modification is based on estimation of maximum inelastic displacement using inelastic design response spectra (IDRS) as an alternative to using equal energy concept. The IDRS for demand displacement ductilities are developed for a single degree of freedom model subjected to several accelerograms as functions of response modification factor (R), damping ratios, and strain hardening. The suggested revised methodology involves estimation of R as the ratio of elastic strength demand to code level demand, and determination of design base shear using $R_{design}{\leq}R$ and maximum displacement, determination of plastic displacement using IDRS and subsequent local plastic deformations. The methodology is demonstrated for the case of a 10-story precast wall panel building.

Nowadays various methods for energy saving have been studied in IP networks. This paper suggests a 2-phase OSPF routing method for energy saving on IP networks having various energy profiles and analyzes its characteristics. The phase-1 of the routing is an OSPF routing method considering the energy cost of devices besides existing metrics to minimize energy consumption. In the phase-2 of the routing, it makes core nodes go into sleep sate for energy saving and reroutes the paths affected by sleeping core nodes. At this time, we confirm that the characteristics of mean delay and energy efficiency can be satisfied by limiting an allowable hop number in the reroute paths, and utilization rate of nodes and links for assuring energy saving and network-level QoS. Since the efficiency of energy saving and delay characteristics differ according to selection methods of core nodes to go into sleep state, it is that the a method of core node selection based on MP(minimum_path) is more excellent than others in terms of network-level QoS and energy saving in IP networks.

In this article, we introduce a finite difference method for solving the Navier-Stokes equations in rectangular domains. The method is proved to be energy stable and shown to be second-order accurate in several benchmark problems. Due to the guaranteed stability and the second order accuracy, the method can be a reliable tool in real-time simulations and physics-based animations with very dynamic fluid motion. We first discuss a simple convection equation, on which many standard explicit methods fail to be energy stable. Our method is an implicit Runge-Kutta method that preserves the energy for inviscid fluid and does not increase the energy for viscous fluid. Integration-by-parts in space is essential to achieve the energy stability, and we could achieve the integration-by-parts in discrete level by using the Marker-And-Cell configuration and central finite differences. The method, which is implicit and second-order accurate, extends our previous method [1] that was explicit and first-order accurate. It satisfies the energy stability and assumes rectangular domains. We acknowledge that the assumption on domains is restrictive, but the method is one of the few methods that are fully stable and second-order accurate.

Fuel cells are suitable for a power plant of a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as it is not only environmentally friendly and quiet but also more efficient than an internal combustion engine. A fuel cell hybrid UAV has better performance in endurance than a fuel cell only or battery only UAV. One of the key purposes of making fuel cell hybrid UAVs is having long endurance and now maximum 26 hours of flight is possible. Because optimal design and control methods for fuel cell hybrid UAVs are absolutely needed for their long endurance we have to check the methods. The aircraft made by using application-integrated design method has less BOP mass and better performances. The optimal design and control methods are generally based on computer simulations or Hardware-In-The-Loop simulations by using dynamic models for their design and control. The Hardware-In-The-Loop simulation (HILS) is to use a hardware device like a fuel cell stack as well as a simulation program and it allows for making optimally designed applications. This paper introduce efficient methods of design, control and evaluation for the fuel cell hybrid UAVs.

Background: This study aims to determine the effective atomic number (Zeff) from dual-energy image sets obtained using a conventional computed tomography (CT) simulator. The estimated Zeff can be used for deriving the stopping power and material decomposition of CT images, thereby improving dose calculations in radiation therapy. Materials and Methods: An electron-density phantom was scanned using Philips Brilliance CT Big Bore at 80 and 140 kVp. The estimated Zeff values were compared with those obtained using the calibration phantom by applying the Rutherford, Schneider, and Joshi methods. The fitting parameters were optimized using the nonlinear least squares regression algorithm. The fitting curve and mass attenuation data were obtained from the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The fitting parameters obtained from stopping power and material decomposition of CT images, were validated by estimating the residual errors between the reference and calculated Zeff values. Next, the calculation accuracy of Zeff was evaluated by comparing the calculated values with the reference Zeff values of insert plugs. The exposure levels of patients under additional CT scanning at 80, 120, and 140 kVp were evaluated by measuring the weighted CT dose index (CTDIw). Results and Discussion: The residual errors of the fitting parameters were lower than 2%. The best and worst Zeff values were obtained using the Schneider and Joshi methods, respectively. The maximum differences between the reference and calculated values were 11.3% (for lung during inhalation), 4.7% (for adipose tissue), and 9.8% (for lung during inhalation) when applying the Rutherford, Schneider, and Joshi methods, respectively. Under dual-energy scanning (80 and 140 kVp), the patient exposure level was approximately twice that in general single-energy scanning (120 kVp). Conclusion: Zeff was calculated from two image sets scanned by conventional single-energy CT simulator. The results obtained using three different methods were compared. The Zeff calculation based on single-energy exhibited appropriate feasibility.
