Prototype double-scattering Compton camera, which consists of three gamma-ray detectors, that is, two double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSDs) as scatterer detectors and a NaI(Tl) scintillation detector as an absorber detector, could provide high imaging resolution with a compact system. In the present study, the energy resolution and the timing resolution of component detectors were measured, and the parameters affecting the energy resolution of the DSSD were examined in terms of equivalent noise charge (ENC). The energy resolutions of the DSSD-1 and DSSD-2 were, in average, $25.2keV{\pm}0.8keV$ FWHM and $31.8keV{\pm}4.6keV$ FWHM at the 59.5 keV peak of $^{241}Am$, respectively. The timing resolutions of the DSSD and NaI(Tl) scintillation detector were 57.25 ns FWHM and 7.98 ns FWHM, respectively. In addition, the Compton image was obtained for a point-like $^{137}Cs$ gamma source with double-scattering Compton camera. From the present experiment, the imaging resolution of 8.4 mm FWHM (angular resolution of $8.1^{\circ}$ FWHM), and the imaging sensitivity of $1.5{\times}10^{-7}$ (intrinsic efficiency of $1.9{\times}10^{-6}$) were obtained.

The aim of the present research was to establish primary characteristics of electron beams for a Varian 2100C/D linear accelerator with recently developed PRIMO Monte Carlo software and to verify relations between electron energy and dose distribution. To maintain conformity of simulated and measured dose curves within 1%/1mm, mean energy, Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM) of energy and focal spot FWHM of initial beam were changed iteratively. Mean and most probable energies were extracted from validated phase spaces and compared with related empirical equation results. To explain the importance of correct estimation of primary energy on a clinical case, computed tomography images of a thorax phantom were imported in PRIMO. Dose distributions and dose volume histogram (DVH) curves were compared between validated and artificial cases with overestimated energy. Initial mean energies were obtained of 6.68, 9.73, 13.2 and 16.4 MeV for 6, 9, 12 and 15 nominal energies, respectively. Energy FWHM reduced with increase in energy. Three mm focal spot FWHM for 9 MeV and 4 mm for other energies made proper matches of simulated and measured profiles. In addition, the maximum difference of calculated mean electrons energy at the phantom surface with empirical equation was 2.2 percent. Finally, clear differences in DVH curves of validated and artificial energy were observed as heterogeneity indexes were 0.15 for 7.21 MeV and 0.25 for 6.68 MeV. The Monte Carlo model presented in PRIMO for Varian 2100 CD was precisely validated. IAEA polynomial equations estimated mean energy more accurately than a known linear one. Small displacement of R50 changed DVH curves and homogeneity indexes. PRIMO is a user-friendly software which has suitable capabilities to calculate dose distribution in water phantoms or computerized tomographic volumes accurately.
An airborne alpha beta detection system using passivated implanted planar silicon (PIPS) detector was modeled with the MCNP6 code and its resolution and detection efficiency were analyzed. Simulation of the resolution performed using the Gaussian energy broadening (GEB) function showed that the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 35.214 keV for alpha particles was within 34-38 KeV, which is the FWHM range of the actual detector, and the FWHM of 15.1 keV for beta particles was constructed with a similar model to 17 keV, which is the FWHM range of an actual detector. In addition, the detection efficiency and the resolution were simulated according to the distance between the detector and the air filter. When the distance was decreased to 0.2 cm from 0.8 cm, the efficiency of the alpha and beta particles detection decreased from 5.33% to 4.89% and from 5.64% to 4.27%, respectively, and the FWHM of the alpha and beta particles improved from 40.9 KeV to 29.84 keV and 25.76 keV-13.27 keV, respectively.
The variations of output energy due to tilt output coupler for different types of pulsed Nd:YAG laser resonators were compared by measuring FWHM (full width at half maximum) which means the width of angle displacement where maximum output energy decreases to half value. We proposed a new configuration of pulsed solid-state laser resonator which had high FWHM for tilting of output coupler and which was little sensitive for tilting of rear optics. We proved that our laser resonator had high alignment stability using ABeD ray matrix method because the ray matrix of such a resonator corresponded to unit matrix. atrix.
Emerging gamma ray detection applications that utilize neutron-based interrogation result in the prompt emission of high-energy (>2 MeV) gamma-rays. Rapid imaging is enabled by scintillators that possess high density, high atomic number, and excellent energy resolution. In this paper, we evaluate the bright (50,000 photons/MeV) oxide scintillator, cerium-doped Gd2Al2Ga3O12 (GAGG(Ce)). A silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) array is coupled to a GAGG(Ce) scintillator array (12 × 12 pixels) and integrated into a coded-aperture based gamma-ray imaging system. A resistor-based symmetric charge division circuit was used reduce the multiplicity of the analog outputs from 144 to 4. The developed system exhibits 9.1%, 8.3%, and 8.0% FWHM energy resolutions at 511 keV, 662 keV, and 1173.2 keV, respectively. In addition, a pixel-identification resolution of 602 ㎛ FWHM was obtained from the GAGG(Ce) scintillator array.
The effects of Spinodal decomposition induced phase separated microstructure of InGaAsP/InP heterostructure on photoluminescence(PL) intensity and FWHM(full-width at half maximum) were investigated in this study. Lattice mismatches were measured by double crystal x-ray diffractometer, and the microstructures of phase separated InGaAsP were observed by transmission electron microscopy. It was found that the misfit stress calculated from lattice mismatch was related to the periodicity of Spinodal modulation. Strong dependence of PL intensity and FWHM on the modulation periodicity was also found. For systematic understanding of these observations, the interaction elastic strain energy function induced by misfit stress was proposed. The calculation illustrated that the microstructure of the epilayer such as Spinodal decomposition played an important role in determining the optoelectronic properties such as PL intensity and PL FWHM.
For fast neutron spectroscopy in MeV region, a recoil proton telescope detector was designed and constructed so as to increase in detection efficiency without appreciable deterioration in energy resolution by adopting a special type of recoil proton radiator which is a combination of a ring-shaped vertical radiator and a cone-shaped horizontal radiator at a certain geometry. A neutron stopper was built in the detector system to minimize the background due to direct exposure of the Si(Li) detectors to primary incident neutrons. The detection efficiency and the energy resolution calculated at various neutron energies and geometries are given and these characteristics of the detector system were tested by 14.1 MeV neutrons. As the calculation predicted, the relative detection efficiency in case of the combined radiator system is almost 2.2 times of that for a single, ring-shaped vertical radiator system. The calculated energy resolution is 3.7% FWHM, whereas the measured resolution was 3.9% which means resolution broadening of approximately. 30% was resulted by introducing a combined radiator system into the telescope. Increase in background less than 40% was also observed.
A pulsed Ti:sapphire laser with a Z-folded cavity, which was pumped by a freqeuncy-doubled Nd:YAG laser, was developed. It shows 120 nm wavelength tuning range from 740 nm to 860 nm with 90 nm FWHM under a pumping energy of 3 mJ with 18% output coupler. Using a birefringent filter, the effective efficiency was improved about 10 times compare to without a birefringent filter. The output energy obtained was $\365mu$Jwith 4 nm FWHM. And the wavelength tuning range was broadened to about 160 nm within an output energy fluctuation of $\pm$10%.

The purpose of this study was to validate for GATE (Geant4 Application for Tomographic Emission) simulation by comparing the results of GATE simulation and experiment in real SPECT system. Futhermore, we want to prove that it is possible that the quantitative research of gamma camera/SPECT imaging for therapeutic radio isotope by using GATE simulation. In this study, the SPECT system on simulation referred to the parameters of Stream-R Forte version 1.2 (Philips Medical System, Best and Heerlen, Netherlands). To understand the I-131 image of gamma camera/SPECT system, we acquired the energy spectrum and measured the full width at half maximum (FWHM) which comes from line spread function (LSF) with and without scatter material in real SPECT system. And to compare with experiment, we also measured the FWHM and acquired the energy spectrum without scatter material in GATE simulation. As a result, without scatter material, the energy peak was almost same location, which are located nearby 364 keV, and other spectrum factors are same tendency in both cases. The FWHM was increased by increasing the distance of source to detector, and the error rate was approximately 3.8%. When we used the line source with scatter material, energy spectrum also indicated similar tendency in both cases. As you confirmed earlier, GATE simulation included real instrument and radioisotope characters for therapeutic radioisotope. Therefore this result that it was possible that various quantitative study for therapeutic radioisotope imaging in gamma camera/SPECT using GATE simulation.
