A Study on the Grounded Theory of Transitional Career Choice Process North Korean Defects (북한이탈주민의 전환적 진로선택과정에 관한 근거이론 연구)

  • This study explores the process of transitional career choice for North Korean defectors who are successfully living their lives after transition to a different system labor market. To achieve this study purpose, what is the process of transitional career choice for North Korean defectors due to the system transition? At present, he (Ed- who is he?) has a subjective sense of success in his professional life and conducted in depth interviews with three men and eight women as objects that can explain the process of experience in rich and detailed ways. To this end, the author interviewed three men and eight women who are satisfied with their current job and analyzed them with the grounded theory method proposed by Strauss & Corbin (1998). As a result, the paradigm model was derived from the central phenomenon of 'conversion of perspective', and the core category was 'conversion of perspective and challenge new career'. The transitional career choice process was derived into four stages according to the flow of time and interaction as 'reality recognition stage', 'active change recognition stage', 'support and coping strategy stage', and 'growth stage' and positive reflections from transitional learning and potential factors of planned chance skills were found.

Development and Evaluation of Middle School Home Economics Teaching Plans Using Personal Color System: Focusing on the Unit 'Daily Outfits & Clothing Acquisition' (퍼스널 컬러를 활용한 중학교 가정과 수업안의 개발과 평가: 2015 개정 중학교 실과(기술·가정) 교육과정의 '옷차림과 의복 마련' 단원 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and implement new classes using the concept of personal color system to the section 'Daily Outfits & Clothing Acquisition' in the 2015 revision of middle school home economics curriculum, and find out the effects on middle school students. For this, We redesigned a curriculum for 'Clothing Outfits and Self-Expression' part using personal color system, developed teaching/learning plans and teaching/learning materials, and examined the changes in self-identity, attitude in clothing life, and class satisfaction among students at the end of the class. The results of this research are as follows. After the implementation of 'Daily Outfits & Clothing Acquisition' unit classes which included the concept of personal color system, the students' self-identity and attitude in clothing life were improved. And according to the results of the individual interviews, students were generally satisfied with the class. If the 'Daily Outfits & Clothing Acquisition' unit classes using personal color system is widely used in middle school home economics classes, it can have positive impacts on adolescents and is expected to be of great help to home economics teachers as a valuable class material.

Development of Tree Detection Methods for Estimating LULUCF Settlement Greenhouse Gas Inventories Using Vegetation Indices (식생지수를 활용한 LULUCF 정주지 온실가스 인벤토리 산정을 위한 수목탐지 방법 개발)

  • As awareness of the problem of global warming emerges around the world, the role of carbon sinks in settlement is increasingly emphasized to achieve carbon neutrality in urban areas. In order to manage carbon sinks in settlement, it is necessary to identify the current status of carbon sinks. Identifying the status of carbon sinks requires a lot of manpower and time and a corresponding budget. Therefore, in this study, a map predicting the location of trees was created using already established tree location information and Sentinel-2 satellite images targeting Seoul. To this end, after constructing a tree presence/absence dataset, structured data was generated using 16 types of vegetation indices information constructed from satellite images. After learning this by applying the Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) model, a tree prediction map was created. Afterward, the correlation between independent and dependent variables was investigated in model learning using the Shapely value of Shapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP). A comparative analysis was performed between maps produced for local parts of Seoul and sub-categorized land cover maps. In the case of the tree prediction model produced in this study, it was confirmed that even hard-to-detect street trees around the main street were predicted as trees.

Matching prediction on Korean professional volleyball league (한국 프로배구 연맹의 경기 예측 및 영향요인 분석)

  • This study analyzes the Korean professional volleyball league and predict match outcomes using popular machine learning classification methods. Match data from the 2012/2013 to 2022/2023 seasons for both male and female leagues were collected, including match details. Two different data structures were applied to the models: Separating matches results into two teams and performance differentials between the home and away teams. These two data structures were applied to construct a total of four predictive models, encompassing both male and female leagues. As specific variable values used in the models are unavailable before the end of matches, the results of the most recent 3 to 4 matches, up until just before today's match, were preprocessed and utilized as variables. Logistc Regrssion, Decision Tree, Bagging, Random Forest, Xgboost, Adaboost, and Light GBM, were employed for classification, and the model employing Random Forest showed the highest predictive performance. The results indicated that while significant variables varied by gender and data structure, set success rate, blocking points scored, and the number of faults were consistently crucial. Notably, our win-loss prediction model's distinctiveness lies in its ability to provide pre-match forecasts rather than post-event predictions.

Composition and Development of Archival Content Service for Teaching-learning Materials (교수·학습자료용 기록정보 콘텐츠 서비스의 구성 및 개발)

  • Nowadays Korean main archives and manuscript repositories are planning to develop archival information service for students and teachers in their web sites. This study is aimed at discovering main issues of developing archival information service for students and teachers and finding a solution. The goal of archival information service for students and teachers is the promotion of use through launching service and the gradual growth of archival management program. The customer group is segmented into the students and teachers who are learning and teaching Korean history in classroom. As a result of analyzing curriculum and educational environment, the archival information must be developed into teaching-learning materials. And the processing archival information into archival content is needed. Consequently the character of archival information service for students and teachers is conceptualized as archival content service for teaching-learning materials. At every step of developing archival content service for teaching-learning materials, the next main points are considered and achieved. First, the strategy of customer-focused service must be the same from beginning to end. Second, the growth of traditional archival management(e.g. classification, description and finding aids) must be contributed. Third, the collaboration system leading by professional education staff must be organized. Fourth, the archival information must be related with teaching-learning activities. Fifth, the quality of content is more important than the quantity of it. Sixth, the networking with another agencies for cooperation must be considered.

An Analysis of Instruction Consulting System in Universities and its Implications (대학 수업컨설팅 체제 분석 및 시사점)

  • The instructional consulting has emerged as an important teaching development program in university. So, this research aims to analyze the instructional consultation system in centers for teaching and learning in four-year-course universities and deduce implications from it. To this end, focusing on instruction consulting program types, status, and example cases for promotion, homepages were reviewed and phone interview was conducted from July to August, 2015. The results were as follows. First, 9 types of instruction consulting system in universities were found. Second, the status of offering the programs and implementing them did not correspond to each other. Third, universities were mainly using in-school consultants. Fourth, universities had various ways of using the results and reward systems. Lastly, as for the example cases, through various consulting programs, consultant pools, use of results and reward system, and connection with other programs, it was found that instruction consulting system was operated organically. The implications that the research result offers are as follows. First, there should be accurate diagnosis of instructors and customized consulting systems based on needs. Second, there should be supports inside schools and cooperation between external organizations that can help raise consulting teams of various backgrounds. Third, the instructional consulting should be made through joint considerations and reflections of instructors. Fourth, universities should provide systematical support for instructional consultation and have higher awareness about it.

The Effects of Team Teaching on Science Learning of Pre-Service Teachers on Science Teaching Efficacy Beliefs and Scientific Knowledge (초등 예비교사의 협력 과학수업이 과학교수효능감 및 과학지식에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of pre-service teachers of elementary school who take courses in 'Science and Textbook Research' on science teaching efficacy and science knowledge after experimental treatment. For this purpose, this study was aimed at intensive course four classes (118 students) enrolled in the 'Science and Textbook Research' course and experimented from the beginning of September to the end of November. The experiment was about teaching textbooks and teaching methods for one semester, and the pre- service teachers of elementary school made the demonstration of science cooperation classes by group. The results and analysis of the study were analyzed by the corresponding sample test in before and after the group test. The conclusion of the study is as follows. First, after taking this class the pre - service teachers of elementary school were effective in science teaching efficacy. Second, after taking this course, pre-service teachers of elementary school were effective in acquiring science knowledge. Third, it was seemed to positive effect on Perception of pre-service teachers of elementary school in Demonstration classes. Pre-service teachers of elementary school have created science course plan by analyzing the tasks according to the principles of instructional design, and they found that they had the right mind and confidence in the lesson.

A Study on Elementary Education Examples for Data Science using Entry (엔트리를 활용한 초등 데이터 과학 교육 사례 연구)

  • Data science starts with small data analysis and includes machine learning and deep learning for big data analysis. Data science is a core area of artificial intelligence technology and should be systematically reflected in the school curriculum. For data science education, The Entry also provides a data analysis tool for elementary education. In a big data analysis, data samples are extracted and analysis results are interpreted through statistical guesses and judgments. In this paper, the big data analysis area that requires statistical knowledge is excluded from the elementary area, and data science education examples focusing on the elementary area are proposed. To this end, the general data science education stage was explained first, and the elementary data science education stage was newly proposed. After that, an example of comparing values of data variables and an example of analyzing correlations between data variables were proposed with public small data provided by Entry, according to the elementary data science education stage. By using these Entry data-analysis examples proposed in this paper, it is possible to provide data science convergence education in elementary school, with given data generated from various subjects. In addition, data science educational materials combined with text, audio and video recognition AI tools can be developed by using the Entry.

Energy Demand/Supply Prediction and Simulator UI Design for Energy Efficiency in the Industrial Complex (산업단지 에너지 효율화를 위한 에너지 수요/공급 예측 및 시뮬레이터 UI 설계)

  • As of the end of March 2022, the total area of domestic industrial complexes is 606 km2, which is only about 0.6% of the total land area. However, as of 2018, the annual energy consumption of domestic industrial complexes is 110,866.1 thousand TOE, accounting for 53.5% of the country's total energy consumption and 83.1% of the entire industrial sector energy consumption. In addition, industrial complexes have a significant impact on the environment, accounting for 45.1% of the country's total greenhouse gas emissions and 76.8% of industrial sector greenhouse gas emissions. Under this background, in this study, in order to contribute to the energy efficiency of industrial complexes, a prediction study on energy demand and supply for an industrial complex in Korea using machine learning was conducted. In addition, a simulator UI screen was designed to more efficiently convey information on energy demand/supply prediction results and energy consumption status. Among the machine learning algorithms, Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) was used, and Bayesian Optimization was applied as an optimization technique for the prediction model. The energy prediction model for the industrial complex built in this study showed a prediction accuracy of 87.90% for compressed air demand and 99.54% for the flow rate available for the public air compressor.

A Qualitative Study on the Cause of Low Science Affective Achievement of Elementary, Middle, and High School Students in Korea (초·중·고등학생들의 과학 정의적 성취가 낮은 원인에 대한 질적 연구)

  • This study attempts to analyze the causes of low affective achievement of elementary, middle, and high school students in Korea in science. To this end, a total of 27 students, three to four students per grade, were interviewed by grade from the fourth grade of elementary school to the first grade of high school, and a total of nine teachers were interviewed by school level. In the interview, related questions were asked in five sub-areas of the 'Indicators of Positive Experiences about Science': 'Science Academic Emotion', 'Science-Related Self-Concept', 'Science Learning Motivation', 'Science-Related Career Aspiration', and 'Science-Related Attitude'. Interview contents were recorded, transcribed, and categorized. As a result of examining the causes of low science academic emotion, it was found that students experienced negative emotions when experiments are not carried out properly, scientific theories and terms are difficult, and recording the inquiry results is burdensome. In addition, students responded that science-related self-concept changed negatively due to poor science grades, difficult scientific terms, and a large amount of learning. The reasons for the decline in science learning motivation were the lack of awareness of relationship between science class content and daily life, difficulty in science class content, poor science grades, and lack of relevance to one's interest or career path. The main reason for the decline in science-related career aspirations was that they feel their career path was not related to science, and due to poor science performance. Science-related attitudes changed negatively due to difficulties in science classes or negative feelings about science classes, and high school students recognized the ambivalence of science on society. Based on the results of the interview, support for experiments and basic science education, improvement of elementary school supplementary textbook 'experiment & observation', development of teaching and learning materials, and provision of science-related career information were proposed.
