  • In this study, two representative measures in the job-focused approach and the employee-focused approach of emotional labor are explored to examine dimensionality and the predictability of each emotional labor measure on key consequences that include job stress, customer orientation, and job satisfaction. Data obtained from 193 department store apparel saleswomen were submitted for analysis. The results show that the emotional dissonance and emotional effort of the Kruml and Geddes measure are good predictors for job stress, customer orientation, and job satisfaction. In a test of the Davies measure, job stress is predicted by emotional dissonance and frequency while customer orientation is predicted by duration, variety, and the frequency of emotional expression in jobs. Duration is also a key predictor for job satisfaction. The result confirm the dimensionality and predictability of two emotional labor measures as well as suggests the need for the careful selection and refinement of appropriate measures according to consequences.

Results : The levels of occupational stress and emotional labor in dental counselors were $47.26{\pm}8.36$ and $3.45{\pm}0.47$. Three subscales of emotional labor as frequency of emotional expression, attention of emotional expression norms and disharmony of emotion were related with occupational stress in dental counselors. The level of job stress was increased by the lower level of emotional expression and increased by the higher levels of emotional expression and disharmony of emotion. • This study examined the relationship between children's academic stress and their sense of hopelessness. In order to expand the study on this relationship, special attention was given to the possible effects of moderators on children's emotional processing style as manifested in a depressed mood. The subjects were 424 $5^{th}$ and 6th graders(197boys and 227 girls) residing in Seoul City and Kyunggi Province, South Korea. It was found that the children's level of academic stress was significantly related to their sense of hopelessness. The results indicated that the higher the children's academic stress, the higher the levels of hopelessness they indicated. No significant effects from moderators as applied to a ruminative emotional processing style were found in the relationship between children's academic stress and their sense of hopelessness. In addition, children's reflective or distractive emotional processing styles were found to be a significant moderator in the relationship between their academic stress and hopelessness. These findings indicate that children's reflective or distractive emotional processing styles could function as a bumper for children who feel academic stress.

  • The moderators that relieve negative effects of emotional labor have been studied such as job characteristics and situational variables. But as reviewing these studies, they focused on the degree of emotional on certain condition, there's no distinction between that degree and moderating effects. So we should focus on the moderating variables as a organizational involvement. In this study, I hypnotized the mediating effect of job stress between emotional labor and organizational effectiveness. Then I explored moderating role of 'fairness perception of emotional labor' and 'problem-focused stress coping'. This study tested these relationships using data from 166 employees of domestic security service company. From this data, I found that emotional labor increases job stress and job stress fully mediates the relationship between individual attitude(job satisfaction, turnover intention). And one who perceives display rule fairer, feels less job stress than who is not. Lastly, one who copes more problem-focused when he/she experiences job stress, have less negative effect on turnover intention.
