  • The electrolyte cathode glow discharge (ELCAD) is a new optical system for direct determination of trace heavy metals in flowing water. ELCAD has been successfully developed for on-line monitoring of heavy metals in flowing water. The application of an atmospheric glow discharge between an electrolyte solution cathode and a platinum rod anode led to the development of stable discharge. The fundamental aspects of new plasma source have been investigated. The fundamental study of ELCAD system has been measured plasma temperature using Einstein-Boltzmann equation after searching Fe atomic emission lines. The spectrum of each elements such as Cu, Pb, Fe, Ni and Cr show only major elemental line and no ionic line possibly due to low temperature plasma source. The detection limits of each elements are also investigated. These informations show that this type of plasma may apply for monitoring of heavy metals in waste water which consists of complex matrix.

  • The acousto-optical spectrometer is designed by using 1 GHz bandwidth acousto-optic deflector for radio signal analysis. This system is a high resolution wide band spectrometer which uses I GHz bandwidth and a total of 2,048 channel charge coupled device. When we measured the spectrums of signals deflected by acousto-optical spectrometer, we confirmed the stability of the total system by repetitive observations of the same frequency, and each part of the system worked well. We installed this system onto 60 cm radio telescope, and observed 12CO(J= 1 ∼0) emission lines around CRL 2688, IRC 10216 and NGC 5005 Galaxy center. We could observe effectively very narrow band width radio spectrum as well as wide band radio spectrum. We also confirmed high sensitivity and resolution in observation of 12CO(J-10) omission line of NGC 5005 Galaxy center which is a weak signal.

  • This paper analyzes the sources of EMI noise, and Presents the noise reduction method using the modulation of switching frequency. Modulating the switching frequency makes the noise of side bands by shattering emission spectrum, and then can reduce the size of EMI filter at input line of power supply.

  • The 77 K emission and excitation spectra, and 298 K infrared and absorption spectra of mer-[CrCl(en)(dpt)]ZnCl$_4$(en=1,2-diaminoethane; dpt=1,5,9-triazanonane) have been measured. Ligand field electronic transitions due to spin-allowed and spin-forbidden are assigned. The zero-phonon line in the excitation spectrum splits into two components by 151$cm^{-1}$ /, and large$^2$E$^{g}$ splitting can be reproduced by the modern ligand field theory. It is confirmed that nitrogen atoms of the en and dpt ligands have a strong $\delta$-donor character, but chloride ligand has weak $\delta$-and $\pi$-donor properties toward chromium(III) ion.

  • In-process evaluation equipment for the prominent discrete tone (PDT) emitted by small motors or actuators such as HDD(Hard Disk Driver), ODD(Optical Disk Driver) or linear motors has been developed and estimated on the basis of Prominence Ratio (PR) method in ECMA 74. Correlation of the evaluation equipment was performed in comparison with the method by ECMA 74 in anechoic chamber. Coherent function between two systems was applied in order to compensate traceability of ECMA 74 in anechoic chamber. Usability of the developed system with estimated Gage R&R shall be approved with real samples in the mass production line.

  • The photoemission and excitation spectra of cis-[Cr(cyclam)F$_2$]ClO$_4$ (cyclam = 1,4,8,11-tetraazacy-clotetradecane) taken at 77 K are reported. The 298 K mid- and far-infrared spectra are also measured. The vibrational intervals of the electronic ground state are extracted from the far-infrared and emission spectra. The ten electronic bands due to spin-allowed and spin-forbidden transitions are assigned. The zero-phonon line In the excitation spectrum splits into two components by 169 cm$^{1}$, and the large $^2$E$_{g}$ splitting can be reproduced by the ligand field theory. According to the ligand field analysis, we can confirm that nitrogen atoms of the cyclam ligand have a strong c-donor character, and fluoride ligand also has strong $\sigma$- and $\pi$-donor properties toward chromium(III) ion.n.

  • Intracavity second harmonic generation of diode pumped solid state lasers in the visible and ultraviolet regions provide efficient, compact and robust light sources for various applications, such as optical data storage, material processing, spectroscopy and bioanalysis. Advantages of neodymium vanadate (Nd:$YVO_4$) as a gain medium for intracavity-doubled lasers over Nd:YAG lie in the facts that the gain spectrum consists of a single line with short absorption depth, and that the stimulated emission cross sections are larger. • Studying the amount and kinematics of circumand intergalactic medium (CGM and IGM) is key to understanding the role of feedback and environment (cold streams and galactic winds) in the evolution of galaxies. In particular, $Ly{\alpha}$ emission line has been utilized to investigate the density structure and kinematics of the (most abundant) H I gas in the CGM and IGM around galaxies. Therefore, modeling $Ly{\alpha}$ radiative transfer through multiphase interstellar medium (ISM), CGM and IGM is crucial in understanding the galaxy evolution. As discussed in Kakiichi & Dijkstra (2018), most $Ly{\alpha}$ RT effects would occur on interstellar scales. This is because the main source of $Ly{\alpha}$ photons would be H II regions, which are in most cases, if not all, surrounded by "cold" photo-dissociation regions. However, most $Ly{\alpha}$ RT studies have been performed in the CGM and IGM environments with T ~ 10,000K. In this talk, we present how the $Ly{\alpha}$ RT effect in the cold ISM with T ~ 100 K regulates the $Ly{\alpha}$ spectral properties.

  • The results of the Crab pulsar observations with the photometrical MANIA (Multichannel Analysis of Nanosecond Intensity Alterations) complex at the 6-m telescope are presented. More than 12 millions photons in UBVR-bands simultaneously with time resolution of $10^{-7}s$ were detected. Using the original software for search for optical pulsar period, we obtained the light curves of the object with time resolution of about 3.3 ${\mu}s$. Their detailed analysis gives the spectral change during pulse and subpulse, the shape of the pulse peaks, which are plateaus (with the duration of about 50${\mu}s$ for the main pulse), limits for an amplitude of fine temporal (stochastic and regular) structure of pulse and sub pulse and the interpulse space intensity. The results of CCD-spectroscopy of the Crab pulsar show that its summarized spectrum is flat. There are no lines, neither emission nor absorbtion ones. Upper limit for line intensity or depth is $3.5\%$ with the confidence probability of $95\%$.

  • Measurements of supermassive black hole (SMBH) masses are crucial in studying the co-evolution of SMBHs and their host galaxies. Although reverberation mapping is the most accurate method known to date, this requires spectroscopic monitoring over long periods. Thus, the current sample barely reaches three digits. The virial method, on the other hand, uses emission-line and continuum properties from a single spectrum to estimate the SMBH mass; hence the name single-epoch method. The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) has observed spectra of almost all quasi-stellar objects (QSOs) discovered so far. Building on previous studies, using the single-epoch method, we estimate the SMBH masses of more than 500,000 QSOs from the SDSS DR14 Quasar Catalog. This increases the mass-estimated SMBH sample almost by a factor of two, and especially more for the low-mass regime, which was the main target of SDSS-IV (eBOSS).
