  • The way of combination of Product Perfect Codes (PPCs) is based on the theory of short codes constructing long codes. PPCs have larger embedding rate than Hamming codes by expending embedding columns in a coding block, and they have been proven to enhance the performance of the F5 steganographic method. In this paper, the proposed modified product codes called MPCs are introduced as an efficient way to embed more data than PPCs by increasing 2r2-1-r2 embedding columns. Unlike PPC, the generation of the check matrix H in MPC is random, and it is different from PPC. In addition a simple solving way of the linear algebraic equations is applied to figure out the problem of expending embedding columns or compensating cases. Furthermore, the MPCs over ℤ4 have been proposed to further enhance not only the performance but also the computation speed which reaches O(n1+σ). Finally, the proposed ℤ4-MPC intends to maximize the embedding rate with maintaining less distortion , and the performance surpasses the existing improved product perfect codes. The performance of large embedding rate should have the significance in the high-capacity of covert communication.

  • Reversible watermarking is an open problem in information hiding field, with embedding the encoded bit '1' or '0' into some sensitive images, such as the law enforcement, medical records and military images. The technique can retrieve the original image without distortion, after the embedded message has been extracted. Histogram-based scheme is a remarkable breakthrough in reversible watermarking schemes, in terms of high embedding capacity and low distortion. This scheme is lack of capacity control due to the requirement for embedding large-scale data, because the largest hidden capacity is decided by the amount of pixels with the peak point. In this paper, we propose a reversible watermarking scheme to enlarge the number of pixels with the peak point as large as possible. This algorithm is based on an adaptive edge-guided interpolation, furthermore, hides messages by interpolation-error, i.e. the difference between the original and interpolated image value. Simulation results compared with other state-of-the-art reversible watermarking schemes in this paper demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.

  • Digital watermarking of multimedia data is a very active research area that has enjoyed a considerable amount of attention in recent years. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for embedding/detecting a fragile watermark in MPEG-4 compressed video domain (Simple and Advance Simple Profiles). The watermark bits are put directly into Huffman VLC-codespace of quantized DCT domain. The advantage of watermark embedding into the compressed domain is the significant savings for a real-time implementation as it does not require a full decoding operation. The watermark embedding does not change the video file size. The algorithm demonstrates high watermarking capacity, thereby providing reliable foolproof authentication. The results of experimental testing demonstrate that watermark embedding preserves the video quality. Watermark detection is performed without using the original video.

  • Steganography is one of information hiding technologies and discriminated from cryptography in that it focuses on avoiding the existence the hidden information from being detected by third parties, rather than protecting it from being decoded. In this paper, as an image steganography method which uses images as media, we propose a new block matching method that embeds information into the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) domain. The proposed method, based on a statistical analysis, reduces loss of embedding capacity due to inequable use of candidate blocks. It works in such a way that computes the variance of each candidate block, preserves candidate blocks with high frequency components while reducing candidate blocks with low frequency components by compressing them exploiting the k-means clustering algorithm. Compared with the previous block matching method, the proposed method can reconstruct secret images with similar PSNRs while embedding higher-capacity information.

  • Steganography is the art of concealing the existence of a secret data in a non-secret digital carrier called cover media. While the image of steganography methods is extensively researched, studies on other cover files remain limited. Videos are promising research items for steganography primitives. This study presents an improved approach to video steganography. The improvement is achieved by allowing senders and receivers exchanging secret data without embedding the hidden data in the cover file as in traditional steganography methods. The method is based mainly on searching for exact matches between the secret text and the video frames RGB channel pixel values. Accordingly, a random key-dependent data is generated, and Elliptic Curve Public Key Cryptography is used. The proposed method has an unlimited embedding capacity. The results show that the improved method is secure against traditional steganography attacks since the cover file has no embedded data. Compared to other existing Steganography video systems, the proposed system shows that the method proposed is unlimited in its embedding capacity, system invisibility, and robustness. The system achieves high precision for data recovery in the receiver. The performance of the proposed method is found to be acceptable across different sizes of video files.

  • In order to improve the embedding rate of reversible watermarking algorithm for digital image and enhance the imperceptibility of the watermarked image, an adaptive reversible image watermarking algorithm based on DE is proposed. By analyzing the traditional DE algorithm and the generalized DE algorithm, an improved difference expansion algorithm is proposed. Through the analysis of image texture features, the improved algorithm is used for embedding and extracting the watermark. At the same time, in order to improve the embedding capacity and visual quality, the improved algorithm is optimized in this paper. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can not only achieve the blind extraction, but also significantly heighten the embedded capacity and non-perception. Moreover, compared with similar algorithms, it is easy to implement, and the quality of the watermarked images is high.

  • The use of structural wood based panels like plywood, OSB in many applications involves the use of nails, and data on the performance of panel-nail connection are needed for design and comparative purpose. This study was carried out to develop basic information on nail performance(withdrawal, embedding, nailhead push through) with water absorption in plywood and OSB. In withdrawal resistance test, initial stiffness of plywood performed better than OSB in 24hr soaked condition. The soaked condition reduced average nail withdrawal resistance value about 46% (12d mail), 53%(8d nail) in OSB, 17%(12d mail), 24%(8d mail) in plywood. The nail embedding strength of plywood also performed better than that of OSB and retention value(wet strength/dry strength) yielded similar in each nail types. The nail head push through capacity of OSB was higher than that of plywood in dry condition, but equal or lower in soaked condition. Therefore, critical consideration about structural panels is required in moist applications. The average values of nail withdrawal, nail embedding strength and nail head push through resistance of tested materials meet the minimum requirement of various specification and standards.

  • To be reversible as a data hiding method, the original content and hidden message should be completely recovered. One important objective of this approach is to achieve high embedding capacity and low distortion. Using predicted errors is very effective for increasing the embedding capacity. Sorting the predicted errors has a good influence on decreasing distortion. In this paper, we present an improved reversible data hiding scheme using upgraded histogram shifting based on sorting the predicted errors. This new scheme is characterized by the algorithm which is able to find the optimum threshold values and manage the location map effectively. Experimental results compared with other methods are presented to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method.

  • Illegal manipulation and alteration of digital content are becoming a social issue. To address this problem, there is an increasing demand for the development of technologies to prevent the manipulation and alteration of digital content. This paper proposes a data hiding algorithm capable of embedding a larger amount of confidential data in the original cover image while minimizing the degradation of image quality in stego images. The algorithm presented in this paper analyzes the characteristics of the image to extract corner points and then uses a method to insert watermarks around these extracted corner points. Additionally, through experimentation, it has been proven that this algorithm can insert a greater amount of watermark without degrading the image quality compared to other existing algorithms.
