Implementation of the low power platform for sensor network based IEEE 802.15.4 (IEEE 802.15.4 기반 센서 네트워크를 위한 저전력 실시간 플랫폼의 설계 및 구현)

  • The sensor network that may be deemed to fall in the field of ubiquitous computing performs the basic function of transmitting sensing data through the autonomous sensing and the Ad hoc network. In order to collect and treat various sensing data at the time of application and manage extremely limited system resources, the sensor network requires the embedded operating system that uses low power, a small cord size and the least hardware resources. In this paper, The operating system having a new structure for constructing the IEEE 802. 15.4 MAC and Zigbee sensor network is suggested and can be formed by reviewing the characteristics and the core structural requirements of the operating system for the sensor network based on operating systems, which have been formed under existing similar conditions, and applying such features and core structural requirements to the design of the operating system for achieving the features and the requirements.

  • In order to cope with safety issues regarding fisher vessels, a device is required with the real-time monitoring for the safety and risk factors for a capability of informing and alerting function. In embedded modules, there is a trouble that we should design device drivers and application programs for usage of the multi-function sensors in order to detect risk factors. In this paper, we designed hardware circuit and implemented control program of the sensor part using PIC18F, in order to control and process the input and output data of multi-function sensors without device drivers and application programs. We confirmed the operation of multi-function sensor module to generate output data according to sensor operation.

  • The temperature control system for semiconductor test handler is designed. We controlled the temperature of chamber using 3-wire RTD sensor and MVME EMbedded controller. VxWorks that is a real-time operating system is used and heater is controlled by PWM. Temperature fluctuation of chamber is decreased within 0.3.deg. C, which is about one-half of that of commercial controller.

  • 센서 네트워크 노드는 각각 초저전력, 초소형, 저비용을 지향하는데 이러한 하드웨어 리소스를 사용하는 임베디드 OS가 TinyOS이다. TinyDB는 이러한 TinyOS 센서 네트워크로부터 정보를 추출하기 위한 쿼리 프로세싱 시스템이다. 이러한 TinyDB를 활용해서 X-Scale 기반의 임베디드 리눅스 환경에서 네트워크를 통한 Host서버와의 연계에 관한 설계 및 구현을 연구하였다.

  • This paper presents a three-fingered robot hand, called the KIST hand, Which have one active joint and one passive joint. The thumb is fixed on the palm, and the index and the middle take lateral motions symmetrically. A mechanical clutch and an embedded force sensor, attached on the distal link of the fingers, enable the KIST hand to perform human-like functions. A result of experiment shows reliable grasping performance of the hand which maintain stable grasp under disturbances.

  • Therefore this study focused on developing real-time system, which makes it possible for nurses to check the residual quantity and changing time of Ringer's solution in nurses' room. Load Cell is utilized as a sensor to check the residual quantity of Ringer's solution. This Load Cell detects the physical changes of Ringer's solution and transfers electronic signal to the amplifier. Amplified analog signal is converted into digital signal by A/D converter. Developed Embedded system, which computes these data with microprocess(8052) then makes it possible to monitor the residual quantity of Ringer's solution real-time on a server computer.   • A coaxial rotor flying robot is developed for surveying and reconnoitering various circumstances under calamity environment. The robot has two contrarotating rotors on a common axis, an embedded microcontroller, an IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit), an IR sensor for height control, a micro camera for surveillance, ultrasonic position sensors and wireless communication devices. A bell-bar mounted on the top of the upper rotor hub increases stability and improves flight performance. In this paper, we present a dynamic model of a coaxial rotor flying robot and design an embedded controller far the robot, and implement them to control the developed flying robot. Experimental results show that the proposed controller is valid for autonomous hovering and position control.

  • In this paper, a dynamics model embedded navigation filter is newly suggested for underwater autonomous systems without position or attitude aid. In order to ensure the observability on the INS errors, the hydrodynamics of the underwater vehicle is incorporated with the INS attitude error. This approach allows us to estimate and compensate the INS errors in spite of using external velocity sensor. Through the simulation, the performance and effectiveness of the proposed scheme are demonstrated.

  • In this paper, we propose the hardware and software of a test-bed of a hovering AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle). Test-bed to develop as the underwater robot for the hovering -type is planning to apply for marine resource development and exploration for deep sea. The RTU that controls a azimuth thruster and a vertical thruster of test-bed is a intergrated-type thruster. The main control unit that collects sensor's data and performs high-speed processing and controls a movement of test-bed is a underwater hybrid navigation system. Also it transfers position, posture, state information of test-bed to the host PC of user using a wireless communication. The host PC checks a test-bed in real time by using a realtime monitoring system that is implemented by LabVIEW.
