  • Windows are essential and important architectural elements for the organization of architectural spaces, and they give character to the space and have a great impact on the reaction of users. Virtual windows are installed to activate architectural spaces such as underground spaces where windows cannot be installed, and to provide a sense of psychological security to users in hospital clinics, etc. In this study, we reviewed the literature and collected and analyzed the precedents of virtual windows to discuss the factors necessary to improve the realism of virtual windows. The factors that affect the realism of virtual windows are further grouped into five categories: 1. Use of reproduced images or videos for views, 2. Representation of temporality, 3. Responsiveness to changes in the observer's perspective, 4. Realistic reproduction of sunlight, and 5. Provision of non-visual sensory elements. Virtual windows are not just a replacement for traditional windows, but a way to realize a virtual environment using digital media, and it is necessary to expand the discussion to the realization of the virtual environment and the relationship with architectural elements.

  • From the 21st century, characters have been developed and managed by many companies, organizations and groups due to public-friendly elements, Community Identity Program, value of utilization for OSMU, etc. This study was carried out according to a plan of developing a character and making an application in ACC Children based on Asia Culture, which was implemented as ACC Children contents R&D project from 2014 to 2016. This R&D and purpose is significant because of laying the groundwork for identity system making it possible to increase the brand value of ACC Children and symbolize ACC Children by developing a character, application and name suitable for the philosophy and function of ACC Children that will be used together with CI of Asia Culture Center. With regard to the research method and scope, Asia is divided into 5 regions, and 100 representative stories in Asia are selected, and a storytelling-based character, application and name with connotative symbol and meaning pursued by ACC Children is developed by choosing and analyzing symbolic animals according to consulting and survey. The characters of ACC Children give publicity to the symbolism of ACC Children, and are actively utilized for OSMU.

That is in need to development of design have color of our country make sure of original design. Now we need a positive opposed to wants of consumers with expaneded market, so as to need of develogment of distinctive design. And then, this stuey have purpose analory of distinctive design as a ilustrate to case of traditional design with on a conjoint analysis, look into the modeling method and meaning of traditional design. At first, it setting up the base of design development, as a present into a investigate to extract course of shape's element for design distinction. And look around about the developing case of domestic company and modeling method, a pattern of traditional design development, As on of distinction's way has doing conjoint analysis for abstract to character of traditional form and have devdloping to product with a present expression elements and design concept for a basis.

  • Because of a sudden growth of the research of fatigue failure, recent machines or structures have been designed by damage tolerance design in many fields. Consequently, it is the most primary factor to clarity the specific character of fatique failure in the design of machines or structures considering reliability. A statistical analysis is required to analyze the outcome of an experiment or a life estimate by reason of that fatigue failure contains lots of random elements. Reliability analysis which has tukenn the place of the existing analyses in the consideration of the uncertainty of a material, is a very efficient way. Even reliability analysis, however, is not a perfect way to analyses the uncertainties of all the materials. This thesis would refer to a newly conceived data analysis that the coefficient of a system could cause the ambiguity of the relationship of an input and output.

  • The first purpose of this research is to investigate the functionalistic concept through the general consideration of Functionalism, and to study the art's aesthetic value of functionalistic expressionist artists implication and form in terms of architecture and product design. Secondly, it analyzes the implication and shape of Functionalism towards 'Art to Wear', which can be explained as a mixture of fashion and art. The results are as follows; First, functionalistic 'Art to Wear' of Mechanical Analogy appears to have futuristic inclination stressing the significance of geometric shapes and machine aesthetics. It uses new materials, and reduce an unnecessary work of art to convey more accurate, concrete and effective character of form. Secondly, functionalistic 'Art to Wear' of Organic Analogy regards natural elements as important to pursue the warm human nature. Also, it appears to be free and comforting forms of Functionalism through an organic silhouette. Thirdly, functionalistic 'Art to Wear' of Moral Analogy excludes excessive ornaments, and includes the implication of appropriate and purposive purity which serves for practical function.

  • Green and plants, as it symbol the life and depute the nature, always give human an easy comfort psychologically. The paper is a brief analysis to the idea frame of urban construction and reform of Kunming through our practice about ten years. On which three main principles should be carefully considered. One is that the green-space composed of plant system is of the important infrastructure of a modern city as it can not be instead of by any other factor in the ecological system of the city. The other is that in the course of planning and construction the local feature as well as its culture tradition in history should be pied more attention. In order to create a distinguish character of itself the third may be more important that to coordinate each key elements of it such as green, water, light, building, road, etc., to get a harmonious sphere of human and nature. A modern city should be a green city in which nature and man co-exist harmoniously.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify remained real state of the village groves in human settlement circle. That was practiced in case of Chinan-Gun region which traditional elements had well been conserved. 33 village groves were found by site survey, reference and interview in Chinan-Gun region. 31 of 51 village groves were clarified as complementing village grove by classification of grove character. It was identified through survey that many were partially destructed by development and human overuse. The results of this study showed general, socio-behavioral characteristics, characteristics of forest state and vegetation structure of village groves in Chinan-Gun region. Length, area, form, type, motive, location, relationship of those were analyzed to identify general characteristics. Facilities, human behavior and ownership of those were analyzed to identify socio-behavioral characteristics. Principal dominant species and appearing rate, height, width, density of those, species diversity of groves were analyzed to identify forest state and vegetation structure. Interrelation between each factor were analyzed and comparative review with previous studies was achieved.

  • Two new harpacticoid species belonging to the genera $Microarthridion$ Lang, 1944 (Tachidiidae) and $Nitocra$ Boeck, 1864 (Ameiridae) are recorded from underground caves in the karst area of Ninh Binh Province, North Vietnam. $Microarthridion$ $thanhi$ n. sp. is distinguished from congeneric species by the number of setae on the antennary exopod, the structure of leg 5 in both sexes, and the finger-like process modified from an outer distal pinnate seta of the third endopodal segment of leg 2 in the male. $Nitocra$ $vietnamensis$ n. sp. has the character combination of six setae on the ellipsoidal exopod of leg 5 in both sexes, the first endopodal segment of leg 1 shorter than the whole exopod, the seta/spine armature of an inner seta of P2-P4 enp-1 and four elements on P2 enp-3, and the reduction of the proximal endite to a seta on the maxillary syncoxa.

  • In this paper, a new method of Hangul recognition is proposed to solve the problems of misrecognition owing to the contacts of FCEs (Fundamental Character Elements) in a Hangul pattern. Structures of FCFs are represented with PAG(Programmed Array Grammar) to recognize an input pattern on 2-D. array of pels., and the unnecessary deformation of the conventional approach can be eliminated by using PEACE parsing which extracts primitives and computes attributes in the course of analyzing the structure of an input pattern. Also, primitive transformation at contacts can afford to confirm all the possible structures of an input pattern and solve the problem of misrecognition owing to the contacts of FCEs. The recognition rate of proposed method for printed Hangul characters shows 96.2% for 1978 Gothic-letters and 92.0% for 1920 Myng-style-letters, respectively.
