에너지 다소비형 건물 축냉 시스템의 경제성에 관한 연구 (The Study of Economical Efficiency for the Ice Storage System of more Energy Consumption Building)

  • It is important issue to reduce the electric energy to save the operating cost of HVAC system. Even if electrical energy is the clean energy, it is difficult and takes high cost for storage of electricity. These cause the high peak load of electric energy for HVAC in summer season. In korea, government impose the electric charge with several grade for the purpose of cut-off the peak load of electricity. Government has a policy to support to design and install the heat/ice storage system using midnight electricity. In this study, analysis of cooling load and operating characteristics for ice storage system are performed. And, also economical efficiency is compared between ordinary charge system of electricity and midnight rate charge of electricity. The systematic and economical supports are needed for expansion of usage of energy saving equipments.

  • Increasing peak load is one of the major concerns about operation of urban railroad systems. Since ESSs (Energy Storage Systems) have a great potential for shaving the peak load, there has been a growing interest in the use of ESS for peak load reduction. Also, ESS can be optimally scheduled to minimize the electricity purchasing cost under a given ToU (Time-of-Use) tariff by taking advantage of electricity price difference between peak and off-peak time. This paper presents a Mixed Integer Programming (MIP)-based ESS scheduling method to minimize the electricity purchasing cost under a ToU tariff for an urban railroad system.

  • 최근 일별 최대 전력수요 예측은 전력설비 계획 및 운용에 매우 중요한 사안으로 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 일별 최대 전력수요 예측을 위하여 대표적 시계열 모형을 소개하고, 예측의 성능 비교를 위하여 RMSE(Root mean squared error)와 MAPE(Mean absolute percentage error)를 사용한다. 연구결과로 보완된 Holt-Winters 모형과 Reg-ARIMA 모형이 다른 모형에 비하여 우수한 예측 성능을 보였다.

피크부하용 혼소엔진발전의 경제성 분석 (An Economic Analysis on Dual-fuel Engine Generation for Peak Load)

  • Recently, lack of power reserve margin was observed quite often. In this paper, we studied the method to secure power source for a short time, to cut the utility power peak load, and to reduce the users electricity bills. Emergency diesel generator of an office building is to be converted into a dual-fuel engine generator which is responsible for a portion of the peak load. Compared to the conventional diesel fuel generator, the proposed dual-fuel engine is able to reduce the generation power cost by dual-fuel combustion, and it also mitigates the building's utility power peak load by charging the building's peak load. If the dead resources (a group of emergency dual-fuel engine generators), as a Virtual Power Plant, are operating in peak time, we can significantly reduce future large power development costs. We investigated the current general purpose electricity bills as well as the records of the building electric power usage, and calculated diesel engine generator renovation costs, generation fuel costs, driving conditions, and savings in electricity bills. The proposed dual-fuel engine generation method reduces 18.1% of utility power peak load, and turned out to be highly attractive investment alternative which shows more than 27% of IRR, 76 million won of NPV, and 20~53 months of payback periods. The results of this study are expected to be useful to developing the policy & strategy of the energy department.

전기요금 절감용 ESS를 활용한 Particle Swarm Optimization 기반 Peak Shaving 제어 방법 (Particle Swarm Optimization-Based Peak Shaving Scheme Using ESS for Reducing Electricity Tariff)

  • 본 논문에서는 전기요금 절감용 ESS를 활용한 Particle swarm optimization(PSO) 기반 Peak shaving 제어 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방식은 실제 부하와 예상되는 부하의 소비를 비교하여 피크 절감을 위해 ESS의 추가 유효전력값을 계산하여 입력을 더한다. 또한 추가로 증가시킨 유효전력을 보상하기 위해, 유효전력을 할당하는 과정을 수행하며 유효전력 할당치가 피크 부하에 영향을 주지 않도록 유효전력 할당 지점에 예상되는 부하의 평균을 최소화하는 최적화 해를 PSO를 통해 찾는다. 제안한 방식의 성능 검증을 위해 실제 부하 데이터와 예측 알고리즘을 반영하여 예측 오차가 적은 경우와 큰 경우의 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 사례 연구 수행 결과 제안한 방식을 전기요금 절감을 위한 충·방전 제어 방식과 같이 수행한 경우 예측 오차가 큰 경우에도 성공적으로 피크 부하 절감을 수행하였으며, 17.8%의 피크 부하 절감 효과와 6.02%의 전기요금 절감 효과를 보였다.

원격제어 에어컨 개발 보급현황 및 향후전망 (A development of direct load control system for air-conditioner)

  • In addition to the stabilization of electricity supply and the quality management of electricity, load balance has been an important strategy for achieving high quality load management. Among many techniques for load management, direct load management has been actively studied and applied for increasing the efficiency of power facility and suppressing peak load. In Korea, the highest peak load is demanded in summer rather than in winter, and almost 50% of the peak load comes from cooling load. Currently, applicable systems are limited to air conditioners that have the cooling capacity less than 2kW. This paper describes the development of remote controlled air conditioners and the result of the field test of the new type air conditioner. The technical specification based on the test will be applied to the new model of the remote controlled air conditioner. The wide distribution of the air conditioners to the public will be helpful to control peak demand due to cooling load in summer time. Financial investment to generating, transmission, distribution facilities will be decreased from flatting the seasonal power load.

  • The recent problems such as the rapid increase o electricity consumption, the large variation of electrical loads, and the sitting difficulty for new power plants could become a barrier to stable electrical power supply. Consequently, an electrical load management technology has become important, by which an electricity can be stored during off-peak time and efficiently used during peak time. The technology provides a variety of direct or indirect benefits which include, for utilities, reduction of new power plants, economical electricity production, and improved efficiency and reliability of power system and for consumers, low prices o electricity. The study is to develop a proto-type load management system and its application technology for a peak shaving. In the system, conventional batteries are used as energy storage device.

  • It is very important for electric utility to expand generating facilities and transmission equipments in accordance with the increase of electricity demand. Regional electricity demand forecasting is among the most important step for long-term investment and power supply planning. The main objectives of this paper are to develop the methodologies for forecasting regional load demand. The Model consists of four models, regional economy, regional electricity energy demand, areal electricity energy demand. and areal peak load demand. This paper mainly suggests regional electricity energy demand model and areal peak load demand. A case study is also presented.

주거자 만족도를 고려한 주택 에너지관리 시스템의 부하제어 방법 연구 (A Study on Load Control Method for Home Energy Management System (H-EMS) Considering the Human Comfort)

  • The effective energy management method will provide the significant advantage to the residential customers under real time pricing plan since it can reduce the electricity charge by controlling the energy consumption according to electricity rate. The earlier studies for load management mainly aim to minimize the electricity charges and peak power but put a less emphasis on the human comfort dwelling in the residence. The discomfort and displeasure from the energy management only focusing on reduction of electricity charge will make the residential customer reluctant to enroll the real time pricing plan. In this paper, therefore, we propose optimal load control strategy which aim to achieve not only minimizing the electricity charges but also maintaining human comfort by introducing "the human comfort coefficient." Using the human comfort coefficient, the energy management system can reflect the various human personality and control the loads within the range that the human comfort is maintained. Simulation results show that proposed load control strategy leads to significant reduction in the electricity charges and peak power in comparison with the conventional load management method.

  • In electric Industry, the improvement of load factor by flattening load has been considered to be more important than any other tasks and has received wide concern and interest. Especially while annual peak load had occurred early evening in winter during past decades, but we found the trend has changed so that annual peak load occurred during the daytime in summer since 1981. In this paper we introduce various method for the load management.
