  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI) has become a very widely used medical procedur e. Clo.sed and open systems are typically used with static magnetic fields at or below 2 Tesla. BWhole body SAR(specific absorbsion rate) is the value of SAR averaged over the entire body of the patient over any period of 15 minutes. Head SAR is the value of SAR averaged over the head of the patient for any period of 10 minutes. SAR is a measure of the absorption of electromagnetic energy in the body' (typically in watts per kilogram (W/kg)). The normal operating mode comprises values of head SAR not higher than 3 W/kg. The second level controlled operating mode comprises values higher than 3 W/kg. Current FDA guidance limits the SAR in the whole body. including the head to a range of 1.5 to 4.0 W/kg, depending on the patient's clinical condition. SAR, limit restrictions are incorporated in all MRI systems. and domestic' s guidance limits the SAR in a part body. including the head to 3.2w/kg and less. The purpose of this study is to evaluate on change of head SAR in using MRI pulse sequence and to check if exceed 3.2(w/kg) level in domestic a part exposure through measured head SAR. 23 patient's the average head SAR of pulse sequence is that T2WI sagittal is 0.5375. T2WI axial(FSE) is 0.4817, T1WI axial(SE) is, 0.8179. FLAIR axial is 0.4580. GRE axial is 0.0077, Diffusion is 0.0824w/kg. The head SAR exposed per patient was proved 2.3845w/kg less than the international standard. Coefficient of correlation for the relations body weight and SAR or for the relations ETL(echo train length) and SAR is 1 value. Coefficient of correlation for the relations between TR(time to repeat) and SAR is -0.602 value. so SAR increased relative to weight body and ETL. But the relations between TR and SAR is negative definite.

  • A persimmon harvesting vehicle that can be operated in hilly orchards as well as a manipulator that can be used to harvest persimmons located in remote positions in the trees were designed and developed. The vehicle could be operated with keeping balanced position in an inclined field and its working platform could be moved up and down easy to approach fruits in a remote region with the aids of a hydraulic and a electrical and electronics systems. The weight of the vehicle was 927 kg and the center of gravity was located at 427 mm to the inner side from the center of a right driving caterpillar, 607 mm to a rear axle from the center of a front axle, and 562 mm to upward from ground. The automatic level control sensor for leveling the working platform was activated within 14.5 ∼ 16.5 degrees of slope variation. The total length of the manipulator was 1.39 m and weight is 975 g. It was powered by a 12 V geared motor to detach persimmon fruits with a rotational force. The gripper was made of plastic and rubber to increase a frictional force. In a performance evaluation test, static tipping angle, dynamic tipping angle toward front side when the vehicle was moving downward, climbing angle, driving speed of the vehicle were measured or calculated. In persimmon harvesting tests 24.9% of yield was increased by hand picking with the aid of the vehicle and additional 7% of yield were increased when the manipulator was used. Therefore, 99010 of total possible yield was achievable when both of the vehicle and the manipulator were used for the manual persimmon harvesting. Increase in 22.5% of total yield was achieved with the manipulator only.

  • We evaluated the effect of mixed liquid fertilizer (MLF) on growth responses of plants and soil chemical properties. A pot experiment with red pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) using loam soil was conducted for 81 days in a temperature-controlled glasshouse, and four N fertilization treatments were laid out in a completely randomized design with three replicates: control (C), chemical fertilizer treatment (CF), and two rates (MLF-0.5 and MLF-1.0) of MLF treatment. Soils were periodically sampled and analyzed for pH, EC(Electrical Conductivity), total N, inorganic N and total C, and some growth characteristics of red peppers were measured. During the experimental periods, the pH of MLF soils was higher than that of CF soils. Soil EC increased right after application of CF or MLF, and the intial increase persisted in CF and MLF soils at the end of experiment. Soil total-N increased right after application of CF or MLF, and this initial increase persisted only in MLF-1.0 soils. Soil inorganic N content initially increased in CF or MLF-1.0 soils, but the initial increase disappeared in 56 days after transplanting. Soil total-C was maintained higher in MLF-1.0 soils and lower in CF soils than in control soils, and the intial increase in MLF-1.0 soils finally disappeared to the level of control soils. Plant height, dry weight of plant organs (shoots, roots and fruit), and the number, diameter and length of red pepper fruits were greatest in CF plants. On the other hand, the effect of MLF-application was different depending on the rate of application. However, no consistent effect of N treatments on some major elements of the organs of red peppers was observed. The amounts of N taken up by plants were 1.3 g for CF, 0.8 g for MLF-1.0, 0.5 g for MLF-0.5 and 0.4 g for control treatments. The results of this study showed that mixed liquid fertilizer (MLF) could appropriately serve as an alternative to chemical N fertilizer in red pepper cultivation.

  • Lettuces were grown hydroponically in three different nutrient solutions, normal and 30 or 50 mM $KNO_3-added$ nutrient solutions, and the electrical conductivities of the nutrient solutions were 1.0, 4.5, and 6.5 dS/m, respectively. Lettuces grown in the $KNO_3-added$ nutrient solutions showed a decrease in the germination ratio and the lower indices of growth, such as plant height, stem diameter, leaf length, and leaf width. Microsomes were prepared from the roots of lettuce and characteristics of microsomal ATPases were investigated. The activities of microsomal ATPases grown in the 30 mM and 50 mM $KNO_3-added$ nutrient solutions were higher than that grown in the normal nutrient solution. The highest activities of microsomal ATPases were observed at pH 7.0 in all culture conditions. The activities of microsomal ATPases were increased in a reaction buffer solution containing high concentration of $K^+$, whereas they were decreased in a reaction buffer containing $Na^+$. The stimulating effect of $K^+$ in the reaction buffer was greater on the microsomal ATPases of lettuces grown in the $KNO_3-added$ nutrient solutions than that grown in the normal nutrient solution. These results imply that the activities of microsomal ATPases in the root tissue are increased as increasing the $KNO_3$ concentration in the hydroponical nutrient solution.

  • Over the past decade, there have been significant advancement in the field of electrospinning area. This study has focused on preparing yarn using polycarbonate (PC) nanofibers including modified multi-walled carbon nanotube (mMWNT) by solution electrospinning process using the mixture of solvents consisting of tretrahydronfuran (THF) and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). In order to enhance the dispersion, MWNT was chemically modified. TEM analysis for the prepared PC/mMWNT nanofibers reveals that mMWNT was well-dispersed into the PC nanofiber matrix. Also with increasing contents of mMWNT, thermal stability of PC/mMWNT nanofibers was improved than that of PC nanofibers. Moreover when 3 to 5 wt% of mMWNT was added, the nanofibers showed good electrical properties expecting antistatic effect, ranging 109.1~109.5 ${\Omega}$. It was confirmed that the multi-filament fibers using PC/mMWNT had $60{\sim}100{\mu}m$ in diameter and 4~5 cm in length.

  • One-dimensional metal oxide nanostructures have attracted considerable research activities owing to their strong application potential as components for nanosize electronic or optoelectronic devices utilizing superior optical and electrical properties. In which, semiconducting $SnO_2$ material with wide-bandgap Eg = 3.6 eV at room temperature, is one of the attractive candidates for optoelectronic devices operating at room temperature [1, 2], gas sensor [3, 4], and transparent conducting electrodes [5]. The synthesis and gas sensing properties of semiconducting $SnO_2$ nanomaterials have become one of important research issues since the first synthesis of SnO2 nanowires. In this study, $SnO_2$ nanowire networks were synthesized on a basis of a two-step process. In step 1, Sn spheres (30-800 nm in diameter) embedded in $SiO_2$ on a Si substrate was synthesized by a chemical vapor deposition method at $700^{\circ}C$. In step 2, using the source of these Sn spheres, $SnO_2$ nanowire (20-40 nm in diameter; $1-10{\mu}m$ in length) networks on a spherical Sn surface were synthesized by a thermal oxidation method at $800^{\circ}C$. The Au layers were pre-deposited on the surface of Sn spherical and subsequently oxidized Sn surface of Sn spherical formed SnO2 nanowires networks. Field emission scanning electron microscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy images indicated that $SnO_2$ nanowires are single crystalline. In addition, the $SnO_2$ nanowire is also a tetragonal rutile, with the preferred growth directions along [100] and a lattice spacing of 0.237 nm. Subsequently, the $NO_2$ sensing properties of the $SnO_2$ network nanowires sensor at an operating temperature of $50-250^{\circ}C$ were examined, and showed a reversible response to $NO_2$ at various $NO_2$ concentrations. Finally, details of the growth mechanism and formation of Sn spheres and $SnO_2$ nanowire networks are also discussed.

  • An external cavity laser supporting two wavelengths is demonstrated by incorporating polymer waveguide Bragg reflectors and a superluminescent light-emitting diode. An oversized rib waveguide structure and Bragg gratings are designed by using the effective-index and transmission-matrix methods. Bragg gratings with different periods are inscribed on a polymer waveguide through double-exposure laser interferometry. In order to tune the cavity loss affected by the reflectivity of Bragg gratings, a Bragg reflectors with varying length is incorporated. Two-wavelength-mode lasing is achieved for the device consisting of 2-mm long, 537-nm period gratings and 2.2-mm long, 540-nm period gratings; the lasing wavelengths are 1554 nm and 1564 nm, with an output power close to 0 dBm, a 20-dB bandwidth of 0.2 nm, and a side-mode suppression ratio of 45 dB.

  • The critical micelle concentration(CMC) and the counterion binding $constant(\beta)$ at the CMC of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) in a series of aqueous solutions containing medium chain-length n-alcohols(Propanol, Butanol, Pentanol and Hexanol) have been determined from the concentration dependence of electrical conductance at serveral temperature from $17^{\circ}C\;to\;41^{\circ}C.$ Thermodynamic parameters $({\Delta}G^o_m,\;{\Delta}H^o_m,\;{\Delta}S^o_m,\;and\;{\Delta}C_p)$ associated with micelle formation of CTAB have been also estimated from the temperature dependence of CMC and $\beta$ values, and the significance of these parameters and their relation to the theory of micelle formation have been considered. The results show that an enthalpy-entropy compensation effect is usually observed for the micellization of CTAB. The effects of n-alcohols on the micellar properties (CMC and $\beta$) of CTAB solutions have been also investigated. The addition of n-alcohol to the CTAB solution in a small quantity decreases the CMC value and the counterion binding constant $(\beta)$ at the CMC, but the addition of n-alcohol in an excessive quantity increases the CMC values on the conterary. These results have been explained in terms of the effect of the micelle-solubilized alcohol on the micellar surface charge density.

  • In order to evaluate the performance of arrow that manufactures through production process, it is used that personal experiences such as hunters who have been using bow and arrow for a long time, technicians who produces leisure and sports equipment, and experts related with this industries. Also, the intensity of arrow's impact point which obtains from repeated shooting experiments is an important indicator for evaluating the performance of arrow. There are some ongoing researches for evaluating performance of arrow using intensity of the arrow's impact point and the arrow's flying image that obtained from high-speed camera. However, the research that deals with mutual relation between distribution of the arrow's impact point and characteristics of the arrow (length, weight, spine, overlap, straightness) is not enough. Therefore, this paper suggests both the system that could describes the distribution of the arrow's impact point into numerical representation and the correlation model between characteristics of arrow and impact points. The inputs of the model are characteristics of arrow (spine, straightness). And the output is MAD (mean absolute distance) of triangular shaped coordinates that could be obtained from 3 times repeated shooting by changing knock degree 120. The input-output data is collected for learning the correlation model, and ANN (artificial neural network) is used for implementing the model.

  • This study was to suggest the predictive model of propagation, considering the effect by the multipath waves produced by the sending and receiving vehicles' left/right reflectors and the adjacent vehicles when the communication between the vehicles on the one-way two-lanes road in the urban city with a lot of traffic jams. Then, the radius of curved road was 600[m], the length of curved roads $52.4\sim471.2[m]$, and the bridge's pier of road was $5o\sim45o$. Also, it was simulated by changing the receiving vehicle located on the curved road's gap from minimum 3.3[m] to maximum 29.5[m], corresponding to the change of distance of the bridge's pier of road and curved road. As a result of this research above, in case of $5o\sim15o$ bridge's pier of road, it was within l[dB] regardless of the receiving vehicle's position on the curved road in case of propagation path loss. In case of $15o\sim45o$, it was approximately $1\sim8[dB]$ as the bridge's pier of road is changed. And, in case of propagation path, it found out that it was changed to $0.4\sim120[m]$ according to the change of bridge's pier of road. Then, the delay time of propagation was 400[nsec] as it produced 120[m] in the difference of propagation path.
