A Study on Multilevel Communication Drive of Full-Duplex Method with Security (보안성을 겸비한 전이중방식의 다중레벨 통신드라이브에 관한 연구)

  • Currently, the industry uses MODBUS communication method using RS485 as a communication method used when constructing distributed equipment and networks. However, this method has a rather good transmission and reception distance, but has a disadvantage of being a half-duplex communication method. Therefore, there is a great need for a full-duplex communication method that can simultaneously transmit and receive two-wire communications. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new communication hardware equipment that can implement full-duplex communication method by communication signal level to overcome the disadvantage of communication speed. The proposed communication hardware is a structure that can transmit and receive at the same time on the same communication line in two equipments communicating in a two-wire system. The characteristic of this communication hardware is that the transmitter generates two-level signal for data transmission, but the receiver generates three-level electric signal according to the status of the transmission data generated by the receiver. The data transmission signal information of the receiver is present at the same time. Therefore, the receiving side can analyze the received signal based on the information on the current transmission signal and can analyze the signal only in the two communicating devices, so it can be seen that the communication security is very excellent.

  • This paper presents the implementation for a network structure of railway cars using a point to point communication. Most of network's representative specifications for a train are the FIP (Field Bus), MVB (Multifunction Vehicle Bus), CAN and WTB (Wire Train Bus) which is used by ALSOM, SIEMENS and BOMBADIER as major in this field. These networks in a physical layer use a multi-drop method, connected from $1^{st}$ car to $n^{th}$ car of a train through a cable without any extra services such as an electric part, amplifier. However waveforms which is passed through a long cable in the multi-drop are distorted by a capacitance or resistance of the cable or environments. Also since using a cable connected directly from $1^{st}$ car to $n^{th}$ car, if over two trains make double head, it isn't easy to distinguish ID for each railway cars. So by using the point to point network per each car, it is able to reduce a distortion. Also since reducing distortion, this communication speed can be been higher and transmit and receive any packets more stably. Using proposed token in a packet, this can make ID per each railway car automatically. Finally experimental results show the good performance and effectiveness of the proposed method.

The influence of $O_2$ concentration on the generation of $NO_2$ by using the wire-plate reactor (선대 평판형 반응기에서 $NO_2$ 생성에 미치는 $O_2$의 영향)

  • In this paper, the effect of $O_2$ concentration on NO removal and $NO_2$ generation by corona discharge from simulated flue gas was measured and estimated for the wire-plate reactor. $NO_2$ removal rate was 0$\sim$30[%] under about 3.4[%] of oxygen concentration, however, it was difficult to remove NOx over 3.4[%] of oxygen concentration. It may be due to generate $NO_2$ from $N_2$ and $O_2$ molecules and converse NO to $NO_2$ by 0 and $O_3$. Magnetic field applied to electric field in plasma was very effective for NOx removal under 2[%] of $O_2$ concentration.

  • The objective of this paper is to discuss technologies on assessing reliability of arc detectors by composing a system that generates and simulates occurrence of arc caused by loss of contact between pantographs and contact wires in a laboratory condition. In order to establish the arc simulator, a device that generates light having the bandwidth of arcs that occur between carbon-metal. The simulator was designed under conditions of EN 50317 and simulations were conducted using the developed device. According to the results, it was possible to conduct certification tests following regulations of international standards and the precision of the simulator was satisfactory. The proposed arc detector assessment system is expected to enhance precision of current collection quality performance assessment methods at high-speed lines and conventional lines while being referred as fundamental technologies for development of detectors suiting international conditions.

A Study on Variation of the Dynamic Characteristic of Supply Voltage According to the Track Environment and Spatial Distribution as Driving of Urban Transits (도시철도차량의 운행 선로환경 및 공간적 분포에 따른 공급전압 동특성 변화)

  • It is important to consider supply voltage stability in case of design and construction of a substation at electric railway because a urban transit is operated by electricity and it is driven simultaneous in the same section. This paper study on variation of the dynamic characteristic of supply voltage according to the track environment and spatial distribution as driving of urban transits. Simulation tool, TOM(Train Operations Model) software is used to ensure stability of feeder system being used around the world. As results of simulation, voltage of the contact wire is in limits on driving operation diagram of urban transits. Also, it has confirmed that there is a correlation the phase current, depending on the speed of urban transit and track environment like vertical gradients and curve radius.

  • In this paper, we analysed the properties change of electric wire when the thermal stress was applied to NFR-8 and FR-PVC [600] wire. Measurement is made of the attenuation of a light beam by smoke accumulating with in a closed chamber due to nonflamining pyrolytic decomposition and flaming combustion. Results are expressed in terms of specific optical density which is derived from a geometrical factor and the measured optical density a measurement characteristic of the concentration of smoke. Referenced documents were ASTM E662 standard test method for specific Ds generated by solid materials. The furnace control system shall maintain the required irradiance level under steady-state condition with the chamber door closed of 2.5${\pm}$0.04[w/$\textrm{cm}^2$] for 20 min. According to the results of the smoke density analysis of NFR-8 and FR-PVC the highest decomposition flaming smoke density range of NFR-8 and FR-PVC were 7.2 to 77.5 and 51.1 respectively. Nonflaming smoke density range of NFR-8 and FR-PVC were 100.4 to 112.2 and 126.5 to 398.8. The amount of carbon monoxide generated was found to be much higher in FR-PVC decomposition than in NFR-8 due to incomp1ete combustion of FR-PVC which has high content of carbon in compound.

Electrical Properties of Cu/Mn Alloy Resistor with Low Resistance and Thermal Stability (낮은 저항과 열안정성을 가지는 Cu/Mn 합금저항의 전기적 특성)

  • In this paper, we fabricated Cu/Mn alloy shunt resistor with low resistance and thermal stability for use of mobile electronic devices. We designed metal alloy composed of copper (Cu) and manganese (Mn) to embody in low resistance and low TCR which are conflict each other. Cu allows high electrical conductivity and Mn serves thermal stability in this Cu/Mn alloy system. We confirmed the elemental composition of the designed metal alloy system by using energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis. We obtained low resistance below $10m{\Omega}$ and low temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) below $100ppm/^{\circ}C$ from the designed Cu/Mn alloy resistor. And in order to minimize resistance change caused by alternative frequency on circuit, shape design of the metal alloy wire is performed by rolling process. Finally, we conclude that design of the metal alloy system was successfully done by alloying Cu and 3 wt% of Mn, and the Cu/Mn alloy resistor has low resistance and thermal stability.

Synthesis and Analysis of Zn Nanopowders by Wire Explosion In Liquids (액중 전기폭발법을 이용한 아연 나노분말 제조 및 분석)

  • Zn wires have been electrically exploded in methanol or distilled water using the pulsed power technologies. The nanopowders produced by the explosions have been observed by using SEM and TEM, and analyzed its phase by using EDS and XRD. The nanopowders produced in distilled water showed ZnO phase only. On the other hands, the nanopowder produced in methanol showed mixed phases with Zn and ZnO. The HR-TEM images of the nanopowders produced in methanol showed that the some particles have been coated with carbon like materials. It is considered that the carbon coatings could be depended on the positions of the particles during the plasma state formed by explosion.

A Study on the Possibility of Electrical Fires due to the Short Circuit and Ground Fault of Power Cable Supported by an Iron Fence (철제펜스로 지지된 동력배선의 단락.지락에 의한 전기화재 발생 개연성 연구)

  • Short circuit and ground fault account for the primary causes of electrical fires. In this research, real-scale experiments were conducted to assess the possibility of electrical fires due to these causes. The experiment conditions were identical with an actual fire accident, in which the power cable was supported by an iron fence. The purposes of this research are to investigate the short circuit caused by wire cutting, the conductivity of the iron fence depending on its coating conditions, and the ground fault of one wire or two wires in an effort to reconstruct the fire accident. The test results show that, owing to the instant operation of circuit breaker in the moment of short circuit or ground fault, the generated ignition energy is far less than necessary to start an ignition. Therefore it is concluded that electrical fire is highly unlikely if the electric system is protected by a circuit breaker with normal functions.

  • In 3-phase 4 wire system, appearance of the $3^{rd}$ harmonic current by increasing non-liner load is the one of causes overheating neutral wire of power line, and apparatus. So it is necessary to protect power-factor decreasing by the $3^{rd}$ harmonic, and electric power apparatus, and line safely, in this study, power system accidents caused by the $3^{rd}$ harmonic were investigated, then harmonic components analysis and unbalanced load analysis got accomplished. As result, we proposed the method to protect the power line and apparatus from over-current of neutral line by using the most economic 4-pole low voltage circuit breaker.
