  • Transient of Electric railway vehicle occurs when change to another state. The duration of the transient phenomenon only takes a few second. During this time is considered, the present of short circuit current and the normal state, the energy is present in the form of a magnetic field. Recognized by the vibration of the transient voltage or transient current at witch energy is present in the field. This paper is presented the result of transient characteristics by transformer % impedance at the time of opening and closing of the main circuit Breaker on the electric railway vehicle.

  • Human error of the engineer are constantly occurring by insufficiency of scientific analysis considering the behavior of railway engagements and actual working conditions and lack of research for accidents. This study investigated how to improve the system through AHP and FGI analysis of interviews and questionnaires for electric vehicles driving licenses, which cultivates the most train drivers.

  • An electric railway is unique system that electric trains consumed huge electric power are travelled and is much interested with EMC. There were several problems exceeding the standard in the frequency range of 9 kHz to 150 kHz because the radiation noises were moved the higher frequency range according to developing the power electronic technology. It is studied the analytic simulation for reducing noise level in terms of cables of the electric train and is experimentally approved the reduction effectiveness.

  • The purpose of this paper is to compensate the voltage drop of the power system in the AC High-Speed Railway (HSR). Reactive power compensation is often the most effective way to improve system voltage drop. The suitable modeling of the electric railway system should be applied to the EMTP. the dynamic characteristics of 3-Phase Induction Motor in Electric Railway Systems is considered for precise modeling. it is shown through EMTP simulation that voltage drop can be compensated effectively by STATCOM.

  • In this paper, a design program for electric railway pole foundation was developed by applying the estimation study performed by Korean Railway. There are two kinds of shapes in the cross-section of electric railway pole foundation: rectangle and circle. In foundation designing, The rectangular foundation should be satisfied with vertical, horizontal and moment equilibrium equations. On the other hand, the circular foundation should be satisfied with horizontal and moment equilibrium equations. The design program was coded into MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class) by MS Visual C. The equation's roots in the program were obtained by Incremental Search method. Dialog and property sheet(Wizard Mode) input windows were selected for user-friendliness. The biggest advantage of this program is to find an optimum depth in a given section.

  • Recently, as the feasibility study shows that trans-Korea railway and trans-continental railway are advantageous, interest in high-speed railway system is increasing. Because railway vehicle is environment-friendly and safe compared with airplane and ship, its market-sharing increases gradually. KHST(Korean High Speed Train) has been developed by KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute) for last 6 years to satisfy the need. An electric railway system is composed of high-tech subsystems, among which main electric equipment such as transformers and converter are critical components determining the performance of rolling stock. We developed a measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of performances of KHST. The measurement system is composed of software part and hardware part. Perfect interface between multi-users is possible. A now method to measure temperature was applied to the measurement system. By using the system, fault diagnosis and performance evaluation of electric equipment in Korean High Speed Train was conducted during test running.

  • This paper proposes transformerless power conversion system consisting of a single-phase diode rectifier and a shunt hybrid filter for the electric-railway system. The hybrid filter consists of a single tuned LC filter per a phase and a low-rated NPC type multi-level inverter. Compared with conventional active filters. transformers are not used. Also, LC filter works as not only a harmonic filter tuned at the 3rd harmonic frequency but also a switching-ripple filter. The rating of the active filter can be decreased by using a NPC type multi-level inverter. The simulation results confirm the validity of the system.

A Study on RCM Approach to Catenary System of Electric Railway (전기철도 가공전차선로의 신뢰성 기반 유지보수(RCM)에 관한 연구)

  • A RCM approach to maintenance of the catenary system of electric railway is proposed. The proposed RCM approach provides a maintenance-oriented FMECA procedure to derive critical failure modes by analyzing failure effects and a RCM decision logic tree to suggest optimal maintenance works for the derived failure modes. By applying the proposed RCM procedures to the catenary system of high speed railway, it is suggested that strand breaks of dropper and voltage equalizing wire, and trolly wire wear-out are the critical failure modes for whom maintenance works based on condition monitoring should be applied instead of conventional time-based preventive maintenance. It is also proposed by reliability analysis that replacement time of dropper can be reduced from 18 years to 10 years. These results show that the proposed RCM approach can optimize the maintenance procedures of catenary system.

  • A method of common earth, which is proposed by French Railway(SNCF) and is applied to high speed railway, minimizes the effect of the traction return current from tracks so that trackside electric devices can be protected and operation and maintenance staffs are kept out from injury in an electric railway environment. According to it, all the new domestic electric railway lines are replaced from existing individual earth method to the common earth method. In this paper, we analyze the correlation between common earth method and traction return current to prove whether the common earth has surely contributed to minimize the effect of the traction return current. The analysis was done based on the measurement of the traction return current at the domestic high speed railway line.

  • Purpose: Domestic electric railway Regenerative Energy Storage System seriously affects the maintenance cost of the total operating expenses of nearly 60% of the total LCC (Life Cycle Cost) due to high dependence on foreign Leading company. Therefore by developing the system, it is important to lower the maintenance cost in the domestic supply. This study about the capacitor Reliability test and the purpose of this study is development electric railway Regenerative Energy Storage System. Methods: In case of, having a close relation between the temperature and the reaction rate, Accelerated Model was known that according to Arrhenius' law of chemical activity. If you apply this formula in using allowable temperature range of the capacitor can induce the Arrhenius empirical formula used in much Manufacture Fields. We evaluate the capacitors Leading company through the Arrhenius model. in order to providing a base for the localization of Ultra Capacitor. Conclusion: In this paper, we conducted a reliability test. And it was performed by the accelerated life test and Cycle Test with temperature and C-rate. and then MTBF and B10 life are estimated by analyzing the accelerated life test result. This is thought to need detailed study applying complex stress than about whether it matches the actual behavior in electric railway.
