  • We acquired operating data in an existing steam turbine power plant using analog control system to investigate operation characteristics. We analyzed a load control logic to develop a digital turbine control system. The load control logic is constituted of load target, load reference, loading rate, load limit and admission mode transfer of valve. The result of this paper is utilized to implement a digital turbine control system.

  • We acquired operating data to develop a digital control system adaptable to gas turbine power plant with about 50 to 100MW. We analyzed an existing analog control logic using these data. We developed control application programs for turbine automatic start up. We showed a similar result compared with an existing analog control system by computer simulation.

  • Main functions of Generator Circuit Breaker(GCB) is cut the generator off from the main transformers and the aux. transformers when plant trip or startup. In this paper, the design requirements For GCB of nuclear power plant is examined. NRC presented the area of review, acceptance criteria and review procedures of GCB in the SRP(Standard Review Plan). In Korea, APR1400 adapted the GCB in main power system.

  • KEPRI developed digital excitation system for San-Cheong pumped storage power plant. This is the very complicated system because of operation connected with SFC(Static Frequency Converter). Many operation modes(stating, regeneration, back to back, line charging, gird connection mode etc) during the commissioning were successfully tested at san-Cheong #2.

  • We analyzed an existing turbine speed control logic in steam turbine power plant. If it is too late to respond a valve position demand signal, it is difficult to control turbine speed. In this paper we proposed a modified control logic and showed a good result by computer simulation.

  • Maximum power consumption was up to 6,228kW in the summer of 2007 due to steady development of industry as well as increased demand of individual. Twenty fossil-Fired Thermal Power Plant for 500MW were underconstructed at present. KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute) manage 'Development of Advanced Fossil-Fired Thermal Power Generation System' project to construct high efficient power plant of 1000MW capacity for preparing increased demand of power. Design of control logic and data sampling were explained and high efficient control logic was simulated in detail in 'The Development of Next Generation Power Plant Instrument and Control System'(sub-project of 'Development of Advanced Fossil-Fired Thermal Power Generation System' project).
