시간-에너지 분석을 이용한 전기설비 이상신호 검출 (An Electrical Installation Failure Signal Detection using Time-Energy Analysis)

  • Most of electric accidents are happened in the place where activities are frequent by common people who has low electric knowledge. Also, accidents are increased in the low voltage electric equipment. So, it is increased to spread the dispersion or non-utility power generation system. It means that ordinary times observation is required for electric equipments by common people. This paper is studied for the diagnosis method of electric equipment that common people can diagnose easily Voltage is generally and exactly measured in the electric and electronic field. We suggest new analysis tools using only electric voltage. It is called the Time-Energy analysis. The Time-Energy analysis is as following First, divide measured voltage waves into same parts, Second, conducted FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) transform for each divided period, Finally, each results are reassembled after graphic treatment. We compared Time-Energy analysis with discharge form by tracking tester. As the result, tracking discharge processes distinguished clearly.

전기추진시스템용 OPMS 기법 연구 (Optimization Power Management System for electric propulsion system)

  • 자율운항선박의 기반은 추진시스템의 안정성이 중요하며, 추진체계의 안정성을 위하여 다중 발전 체계 및 추진체계를 갖추어야한다. 기존 선박에서는 안정성을 위하여 높은 발전 용량을 산정하며, 그 결과 저부하 운전으로 인한 경제성 하락을 야기한다. 이를 해결하기 위해서는 전력체계의 최적화를 통하여 발전 체계의 경량화와 효율의 증가가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 전기추진선박용 OPMS(Optimization Power Management System)를 구축한다. OPMS는 하이브리드형 발전시스템, 에너지저장시스템, 부하제어시스템으로 구성된다. 발전시스템은 이중연료엔진, 에너지저장시스템은 배터리, 부하제어시스템은 추진 부하, 상용 부하, 불규칙 부하, 화물 기기 관련 부하, 갑판 부하로 구성된다. 각 시스템별 기기들의 특성에 대하여 모델링하여 전력체계를 구축하였다. 실험을 위하여 선박 운용에 따른 시나리오를 작성하고 안정성 및 경제성을 기존의 전기추진선박과 비교하였다. 실험의 결과 발전기의 비교적 적은 시간 투입으로 같은 전력량을 공급함으로써 선박의 LNG 1.3%, Main Fuel 0.3%, Pilot Fuel 35.1%의 연료소모량 감소를 통하여 경제성 및 안정성을 확인하였다.

Design of a generator control system for small nuclear distributed generation

  • Small-scale reactors have recently attracted attention as a potential power generation source for the future. The Regional Energy Research Institute for Next Generation is currently developing a small-scale reactor called Regional Energy rX 10 MVA (REX-10). The current paper deals with a power system to be used with small-scale reactors for multi-purpose regional energy systems. This small nuclear system can supply electric and thermal energy like a co-generation system. The electrical model of the REX-10 has been developed as a part of the SCADA system. REX-10's dynamic and electromagnetic performance on the power system is analyzed. Simulations are carried out on a test system based on Ulleung Island's power system to validate REX-10 availability on a power system. RSCAD/RTDS and PSS/E software tools are used for the simulation.

배터리 충방전특성을 고려한 제주계통의 적정 ESS용량과 탄소배출량 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of the ESS Capacity of Considering for Charge-Discharge Characteristic and CO2 Emission in Jeju)

  • South Korea's power consumption is increasing every year. For stable electric power supply, more generation facilities are needed. But it is not easy to build nuclear power generation facilities, so provision of renewable energy is thought of as the solution. For the system's stable management, practical use of energy storing system is needed. Currently, pumping up electric power station is considered most useful. In this study, we have calculated the least amount of energy storing device by considering the renewable energy, HVDC, and change in power for the appliance of ESS in Jeju system, according to The 6th Basic Plan for Long-term Electricity Supply and Demand. Also we have calculated the amount of the battery and about the load equalizing effect to use battery as power storing device. Finally, we have calculated the reduction of electricity generation and the reduction of $CO_2$ emission with this study.

  • This paper presents development of variable speed generation (VSG) system with energy saving function. The rubber tyred gantry crane (RTGC) requires the power from diesel-engine. Significant fuel savings by reducing the engine speed can be achieved, because all of operation modes except hoisting are required lower power than rated value of engine. When low speed operation output voltage of generator is decrease until acceptable range of motor driver inverters and auxiliary load supplier. According to power demand engine speed is varying from 20 to 60Hz, and voltage is varying between 210Vac and 480Vac. When idle mode or low power operation dc/dc converter operates by constant output voltage control and inverters dc site voltage is compensated by it. This paper proposed 3-phase interleaved boost converter which has the same structure as the commercially available 3-phase inverter and current sharing capability. 400kW interleaved converter is designed and a performance of converter is evaluated through several experiments with a RTGC system. Energy saving VSG system can cut down fuel consumption by 36% and 21.3% at idle and unidirectional load operations.

  • In this paper, we have studied about minimizing the Energy Storage System (ESS) capacity for mitigating the fluctuation of Wind Turbine Generation System (WTGS) by using Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). In this case, they have some different characteristics: The EDLC has the ability of generating the output power at high frequency. Thus, it is able to reduce the fluctuation of WTGS in spite of high cost. The BESS, by using Li-Ion battery, takes the advantage of high energy density, however it is limited to use at low frequency response. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, simulations are carried out with the actual data of 2MW WTGS in case of worst fluctuation of WTGS is happened. By comparing simulation results, this method shows the excellent performance. Therefore, it is very useful for understanding and minimizing the ESS capacity for mitigating the fluctuation of WTGS.

  • The most concerning issue of these days is the energy crisis by increasing threat of dependency on foreign oil and its volatility itself. In the situations, the PHEV is drawing attention for the next generation's car which could give a chance to decrease the dependency on foreign oil. As well as, the Korean electric power infrastructure is a strategic national asset that is under utilized most of the time. With the proper changes in the operational paradigm, it could generate and deliver necessary energy to charge the PHEVs which could penetrate the market within few years. In doing so, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve the economics of the electricity industry, and reduce the energy dependency. This paper investigate the technical potential and impacts of using the existing idle capacity of the electric infrastructure in conjunction with the emerging PHEVs technology to meet the majority of daily energy needs of the Korean LDV fleet.

  • This paper has described in Electric Vehicle Battery Management System(EV BMS). EV BMS manages the input/output energy of the traction battery, and provides the optimum environment condition during charging/ driving through the communication with other controllers. In this paper, we introduce our BMS for Santa Fe EV. Hyundai Motor Company has been developed EV since 1990. Recently, Santa Fe EV has been demonstrating with the environmental friendly technology. Two year real road testing program with electric powered Santa Fe is being undertaken by HMC in Hawaii.

유니몰프 압전소자를 이용한 발전 판넬의 출력특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Output Characteristics for the Generation Panel using Unimorph Piezoelectric Element)

  • The ability for energy harvesting via the piezoelectric effect was studied for a unimorph element such as piezo buzzer. A simple equivalent circuit was proposed to predict the energy generated based on the internal stress. Unimorphs with a metal-cavity were used as a driving device of the generation panel. Both the AC open voltage and DC output voltage as a function of pressure period and number of element were measured. For the unimorph generation circuit, DC output voltage varies with pressure period, reaching a maximum value at $470{\mu}F$. The maximum output voltage a according to load resistance was measured at $1M{\Omega}$. Data analysis of the DC output voltage and time constant indicated that number of piezoelectric element of optimum was 60~80. It was found that piezoelectric unimorph has the possibility to be used as the driving element of the electric generation.

  • The recent development of efficient thermal prime movers for distributed generation id changing the focus of the production of electricity from large centralized power plants to local generation units scattered over the territory. The scientific communality is addressing the analysis and planning of the distributed energy resources(der) with wide spread approaches, taking into account technical, environmental, economical and social issues. The coupling of cogeneration system to absorption/electric chillers or heat pumps as well as the interactions with renewable sources, allow for setting up multi-generation systems for building cooling heating and power(BCHP) systems of different energy vectors such as electricity, heat(at different enthalpy levels), cooling power, hydrogen, various chemical substances and so forth. Adoption of the composite multi-generation systems may lead to significant benefits in term of higher efficiency, reduced $CO_2$ emissions and enhanced economy. This paper outlines the main aspects of the BCHP system framework, illistrating its characteristics and summarizing the relevant distributed multi-generation structures.
