  • The purpose of the this study of to define the critical corrosion amount of the steel cause the cracking of concrete cover. The major variables of the critical corrosion amount are concrete strength and thick of the concrete cover. In this experiment, the constant of stress concentration is added by a new variable. As a result of the experiment, it is confirmed to less decrease in the critical corrosion amount following the constants of stress concentration increased. Besides, electric currents were measured through a generator of constant voltage. When connecting constant voltage with corrosion circuit, it was discovered that magnitude of the change come out similarly between displacement on the concrete cover and electric current according to time.

  • Most of the battery charger for electric powered forklift truck are controlled by the method of 3-phased constant current and constant voltage. However, these chargers have several disadvantages like a large charger capacity, and a short battery life time. This paper presents a digital type battery charger based on multi-mode control adding a constant power control and several assistant controls in the conventional control. The whole control system is performed by a low cost one-chip micro-controller and completely digitize. So we can get a high precision control and a good reliability.

  • This paper presents the two lossless auxiliary inducors-assisted voltage source type half bridge(single ended push pull:SEPP) series resonant high frequency inverter for induction heated fixing roller in copy and printing machines. The simple high-frequency inverter treated here can completely achieve stable zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation forwide its output power regulation ranges and load variations under constant high frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme. Its transient and steady state operatprinciple is originally described and discussed for a constant high-frequency PDM control strategy under a stable ZCS operation commutation, together with its output effective power regulation charactertics-based on the high frequency PDM strategy. The experimenoperating performances of this voltage source SEPP ZCS-PDM series resonant high frequency inverter using IGBTs are illustrated as compared with computer simulation results and experimenones. Its power losses analysis and actual efficiency are evaluated and discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results. The feasible effectiveness of this high frequency inverter appliimplemented here is proved from the practical point of view.

  • Because of high oil prices and emission gas problems, many governments tighten regulation of fuel economy and emission gas. For Passenger car, there are many researches for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and they are being manufactured. On the other hand, there are few researches for plug-in hybrid electric bus that is heavy commercial vehicle. In this study, analysis of fuel economy for series plug-in hybrid electric bus according to engine operation strategy based on simulation is conducted. Forward simulator is developed using Autonomie. Engine operation strategies consist on constant engine operation strategy and engine on/off operation strategy. Considering the engine operation strategy, results of vehicle speed, engine operating points and fuel economy are obtained and analyzed. As a result, engine on/off operation strategy has more advantage than constant engine operation strategy in terms of fuel economy.

  • This paper presents a simple and cost-effective stand-alone rapid battery charging system of 30kW for electric vehicles. The proposed system mainly consists of active front-end rectifier of neutral point clamped 3-level type and non-isolated bi-directional dc-dc converter of multi-phase interleaved half-bridge topology with coupled inductors. The charging system is designed to operate for both lithium-polymer and lithium-ion batteries. The complete charging sequence is made up of three sub-interval operating modes; pre-charging mode, constant-current mode, and constant-voltage mode. The pre-charging mode employs the staircase shaped current profile to accomplish shorter charging time while maintaining the reliable operation of the battery. The proposed system is able to reach the full-charge state within less than 16min for the battery capacity of 8kWh by supplying the charging current of 67A. The optimal discharging algorithm for Vehicle to the Grid (V2G) operation has been adopted to maintain the discharging current of 1C. Owing to the simple and compact power conversion scheme, the proposed solution has superior module-friendly mechanical structure which is absolutely required to realize flexible power expansion capability in a very high-current rapid charging system.

Domain Contribution in the Electric-field-induced Strain of PZT Ceramics

  • The contribution of the non-$180^{\circ}C$ domains to the electric-field-induced strains (EFI-strains) of PZT ceramics was evaluated by an XRD method and by an interferometric method. The XRD intensity ratio of 200 and 002 diffraction peaks of tetragonal PZT was measured under strong electric fields. The amount of the $90^{\circ}$ domain reorientation was evaluated and the strain due to the domain reorientation was calculated. It was confirmed that the EFI-strain of PZT ceramics was equal to the sum of the strain calculated from the d$_33$ constant determined by the resonance-antiresonance method and the strain due to the $90^{\circ}$ domain reorientation. The amount of the $90^{\circ}$domain reorientation has a linear relation with the c/a ratio in the "soft" PZT ceramics. A Mech-Zehnder interferometer was constructed to measure the EFI-strains vs. electric-field curves of PZT ceramics as a function of frequency. The EFI-strain vs. electric-field curve showed a hysteresis due to the effect of the non-$180^{\circ}$ domain reorientation when the applied voltage was high and its frequency was low. The apparent piezoelectric constant increased from the d$_33$ value determined by the resonance-antiresonance method with decreasing frequency. This deviation was attributed to the non-$180^{\circ}$ domain contribution.tribution.

압축하중 및 전계 인가에 따른 PIN-PMN-PT 단결정의 33-모드 유전 및 압전특성 (The 33-mode Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of PIN-PMN-PT Single Crystal under Stress and Electric Field)

  • Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O3-Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3계 압전 단결정의 유전특성과 압전특성을 전계 및 압축응력 인가 조건 하에서 33-모드 방식으로 측정하였다. 110~140℃ 영역에서 저온 rhombohedral 구조에서 고온 tetragonal 구조로의 상전이가 관찰되었으며, cubic 구조로 변화하는 큐리온도는 165℃ 정도로 나타났다. 압축응력 및 전계 변화에 따른 분극의 크기변화를 측정하였다. 전계인가 분극 곡선의 기울기로부터 비유전율을 계산하였고, 인가되는 응력의 크기가 증가할수록 계산된 비유전율의 크기는 증가하고, 인가되는 전계의 크기가 증가할수록 비유전율의 크기는 감소하는 경향성을 나타내었다. 압축응력 및 전계 변화에 따른 변위 거동을 측정하였으며, 곡선의 기울기로부터 압전상수를 계산하였고 압력인가에 따른 상전이를 확인하였다. 수중 또는 의료용 초음파 발진자로 실제 응용할 경우 선형성을 유지하여 구동이 가능하기 위하여 소자 기구물을 형성하는 단계에서 인가하게 되는 압축응력의 크기와 구동 전계의 DC 바이어스의 크기를 적절하게 설계할 필요가 있다.

인산처리 셀룰로오스를 첨가한 비수계 ER 유체의 전기유변학적 특성 (Electrorheological Properties of Anhydrous ER Suspensions Based on Phosphated Cellulose)

  • The electrorheological (ER) behavior of suspensions in silicone oil of phosphated cellulose particles (average particle size 17.77 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) was investigated at room temperature with electric fields up to 2.5 KV/mm. In this paper, for development of anhydrous ER suspensions using at wide temperature range, we would like to know fundamental understandings on the ER activity. As a first step, the anhydrous ER suspensions dispersed the phosphated cellulose particles were measured, and not only the electrical characteristics such as dielectric constant, current density and electrical conductivity but also the rheological properties on strength of electric field and quantity of dispersed phase were studied. From the experimental results, the anhydrous ER suspensions dispersed phosphated cellulose particles showed a stable current density and very high performance of ER effect $(\tau/\tau_0=1030)$ on the 2.5 KV/mm and the dynamic yield stress $(\tau_y)$ was in exponential proportion to the strength of electric fields.
