전기차 배터리 충전기용 강인한 단위 입력 역률 제어장치 (Robust and Unity Input Power Factor Control Scheme for Electric Vehicle Battery Charger)

  • This study develops a digital control scheme with power factor correction for a front-end converter in an electric vehicle battery charger. The front-end converter acts as the boost-type switching-mode rectifier. The converter assumes the two roles of the battery charger, which include power factor control and robust charging performance. The proposed control scheme consists of a charging control algorithm and a grid current control algorithm. The scheme aims to obtain unity input power factor and robust performance. Based on the linear average model of the converter, a constant-current constant-voltage charging control algorithm that passes through only one proportional-integral controller and a current feed-forward path is proposed. In the current control algorithm, we utilized a second band pass filter, a single-phase phase-locked loop technique, and a duty-ratio feed-forward term to control the grid current to be in phase with the grid voltage and achieve pure sinusoidal waveform. Simulations and experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme, both simulations and experiments.

  • In this paper, EV (Electric Vehicle) and ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicle simulators are developed to compare maximum driving range of EV and ICE vehicle according to different driving patterns. And, simulations are performed for fourteen constant velocity cases (20, 30, 40, ${\ldots}$, 150 km/h) and four different driving cycles. From the simulation results of constant velocity, it is found that the decreasing rate of maximum driving range for EV is larger than the one for ICE as both the vehicle velocity and the driving power increase. It is because the battery efficiency of EV decreases as both the velocity and the driving power increase, whereas the engine and transmission efficiencies of ICE vehicle increase. From the results of four driving cycle simulation, the maximum driving range of EV is shown to decrease by 50% if the average driving power of driving cycle increases from 10 to 20kW. It is because the battery efficiency decreases as the driving power increases. In contrast, the maximum driving range of ICE vehicle also increases as the average driving power of driving cycle increases. It is because the engine and transmission efficiencies also increase as the driving power increases.

The Dielectric Properties of BaTiO3/SrTiO3 Heterolayered Thick films by Screen Printing Method

  • The $BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ heterolayered thick films were fabricated by the screen printing method on alumina substrates. The effect of the sintering temperature on the microstructure and dielectric properties of the $BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ thick films has been investigated. The relative dielectric constant and dielectric loss at 1 MHz of the $BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ heterolayered thick films with sintering temperature of $1350^{\circ}C$ were about 751 and 1.74, respectively. The remanent polarization $(P_r)$ of the pure $(Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ and $BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ heterolayered films are approximately $5.1\;{\mu}C/cm^2$ and $10\;{\mu}C/cm^2$. This study suggests that the design of the $BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ heterolayered thick films capacitor with different phase should be an effective method to enhance the dielectric and ferroelectric performance in devices.

전계인가법을 이용한 $\beta$-PVDF 증착 박막의 제조와 유전특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Preparation and Dielectric Characteristic of $\beta$-PVDF Vapor Deposited Thin Films by Applied Electric Field Method)

  • In this study, the $\beta$-Polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) thin films were fabricated by physical vapor deposition method. Also, the properties of dielectric relaxation were studied to understand carrier's behavior of PVDF thin films, to be regarded as the excellent piezo and pyroelectricity. In the process of vapor deposition, the $\beta$-PVDF thin films have been fabricated under the condition of the substrate temperature at 3$0^{\circ}C$, the applied electric field at 142.8kV/cm and the pressure at 2.0${\times}10^{-5}$torr. The dielectric properties of PVDF have been studied in the frequency range 10Hz to 1MHz at temperature from 30 to $100^{\circ}C$. The relative dielectric constant of $\alpha$ and $\beta$-PVDF were 6.8 and 9.8, respectively, under a frequency of 1kHz. Such a phenomenon was caused by the decrease in intermolecular forces originated by the phase-transition from the TGTG' molecular conformation to the TT planar zig-zag conformation. And the relative dielectric constant is increased as a measuring temperature increases, because of the reduction of relaxation time caused by the decrease of intermolecular force.

Experimental study for natural gas production from hydrate reservoir by electric heating method

  • In this study, an experimental apparatus has been designed and set-up to analyse the dissociating phenomena of hydrate in porous rock using electric heating method supplied at downhole. The electric heat injecting experiments have been performed to investigate the heat transfer within the core, the dissociating phenomena of hydrate, and the productivities of dissociated gas and water. These experiments were under constant heat injecting method as well as preheating methods. From the experimental results, it is seen that the hydrates is dissociated along the phase equilibrium curve and dissociation of hydrate is accelerated with heat. The injected heat is consumed for the dissociation and also it is lost together with outflow of the dissociated gas and water. From the investigation of gas producing behavior for various heat injecting methods, as the injected heat is greater, dissociation is accelerated faster at outlet and hence the initial gas production becomes higher. Also, it is shown that the initial gas productivity under the constant heating method is better, however, the energy efficiency is low because of smaller amount of the produced gas comparing to the amount of heat injected. In the experiments of preheating method, it was seen that gas production only initial stage is different with the preheating time, but the producing behaviors of gas production are similar.

  • In this study, tunable dielectric materials are important for resonator, variable capacitor, phased array antenna and other devices application. In this paper, Dielectric constant increased and tuning range increased with the increased of $BaSrTiO_3/Li_{2}CO_{3}$ content, which probably can be explained by the substitution of Ba3+, Li1+ on BaTiO3 lattice. The tunability and dielectric loss of the $BaSrTiO_2/Li_{2}CO_{3}$ thick film, sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$, were about 43 % and 0.234 at 10$\sim$15 MHz, respectively. In case of BaSrTi/MgO, Dielectric constant decreased and tenability increased with the added of $BaSrTiO_3/MgO$. The ferroelectrics properties were distinct when adding Li to BST ceramic thick film, and paraelectrics pattern was distinct when adding Mg.

Development of Traction Unit for 2-motor Driven Electric Vehicle

  • This paper describes a development of traction unit for 2-motor driven electric vehicle (EV). The traction unit is consisted with an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), a reduction gear and an inverter for electric vehicle that is driven by 2 motors without differential gear. For traction unit, prototype IPMSM and inverter have been developed. The IPMSM was designed by CAD program that was developed with both equivalent circuit method and FEM. Also the inverter was developed to drive 2 motors with 6 legs IGBT switches in a control board. The vector control algorithm was implemented with maximum torque control method in the constant torque region and field weakening control method in the constant power region considering inverter capacity. To verify that the traction unit is more high efficiency and has more high power density than a traction unit with induction motor with the same power, we would like to show the results about the design and analysis of the IPMSM and the experiment results about the traction unit.

전외 액츄에이터용 PBZT 세라믹스의 $WO_3$ 첨가에 따른 특성 (Characteristics of PBZT Ceramics for Electrostrictive Actuator according to $WO_3$)

  • To improve the electro-induced strain and to decease the hysteresis of that W $O_3$dopant of which amount is 0~0.8wt% was added to (P $b_{0.73}$/B $a_{0.27}$)(Z $r_{0.75}$/ $Ti_{0.25}$) $O_3$+0.1wt% $Y_{2}$/ $O_3$ceramics. At the specimen with 0.4 wt% W $O_3$the electromechanical coupling coefficient( $K_{31}$ ) showed the maximum value of 23.6% at D.C 10 kV/cm electric field. At the same W $O_3$addition amount the piezoelectric constant( $d_{31}$ ) and the electro-induced strain($\Delta$$\ell$/$\ell$)showed the highest values of 182$\times$10$^{-12}$ [C/N] 210$\times$10$^{-6}$ $\Delta$$\ell$/$\ell$at D.C. 10 kV/cm electric field. respectively0 kV/cm electric field. respectivelyvely.

  • Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) method becomes more and more popular for the Electric Vehicle (EV) battery charger due to its convenience and safety in comparison with plugged-in charger. In recent years, Lithium batteries are increasingly used in EVs and Constant Current/Constant Voltage (CC/CV) charge needs to be adopted for the high efficiency charge. However, it is not easy to design the IPT Battery Charger which can charge the battery with CC/CV charge under the wide range of load variation due to the wide range of variation in its operating frequency. This paper propose a new design and control method which makes it possible to implement the CC/CV mode charge with minimum frequency variation (less than 1kHz) during all over the charge process. A 6.6kW prototype charge has been implemented and 96.1% efficiency was achieved with 20cm air gap between the coils.

  • This paper provides the results of dielectric properties for aged or controlled lightening arresters. The aged lightening arresters were used for five years in distribution line. The leakage current of lightening arresters and elements was measured to confirm whether the lightening arrester was deteriorated or not. The microstructure was also investigated to determine the size of grain and grain boundary. The dielectric properties of aged lightening arresters were compared to those of controlled lightening arresters. The dielectric constant and the tan${\delta}$ of aged lightening arrester were larger than those of controlled one, resulting from accelerated aging due to the thin grain boundary.
