  • In the cloud computing environment, there has been a lot of research into the Fog/Edge Computing (FEC) paradigm for securing user proximity of application services and computation offloading to alleviate service delay difficulties. The method of predicting dynamic location change patterns of edge devices (moving objects) requesting application services is critical in this FEC environment for efficient computing resource distribution and deployment. This paper proposes an optimal moving pattern extraction algorithm in which variable weights (distance, time, congestion) are applied to selected paths in addition to a support factor threshold for frequency patterns (moving objects) of edge devices. The proposed algorithm is compared to the OPE_freq [8] algorithm, which just applies frequency, as well as the A* and Dijkstra algorithms, and it can be shown that the execution time and number of nodes accessed are reduced, and a more accurate path is extracted through experiments.

  • Rare earth doped barium tellurite glasses were synthesised and explored for their radiation shielding applications. All the samples showed good thermal stability with values varying between 101 ℃ and 135 ℃ based on dopants. Structural properties showed the dominance of matrix elements compared to rare earth dopants in forming the bridging and non-bridging atoms in the network. Bandgap values varied between 3.30 and 4.05 eV which was found to be monotonic with respective rare earth dopants indicating their modification effect in the network. Various radiation shielding parameters like linear attenuation coefficient, mean free path and half value layer were calculated and each showed the effect of doping. For all samples, LAC values decreased with increase in energy and is attributed to photoelectric mechanism. Thulium doped glasses showed the highest value of 1.18 cm-1 at 0.245 MeV for 2 mol.% doping, which decreased in the order of erbium, holmium and the base barium tellurite glass, while half value layer and mean free paths showed an opposite trend with least value for 2 mol.% thulium indicating that thulium doped samples are better attenuators compared to undoped and other rare earth doped samples. Studies indicate an increased level of thulium doping in barium tellurite glasses can lead to efficient shielding materials for high energy radiation.

  • As interest in eco-friendly and fuel-efficient electric vehicles has increased globally, there has also been a growing interest in the efficiency, vibration, and noise of motors for electric vehicles Electric vehicles generally have significantly lower driving ranges per charge compared to the maximum driving range per fueling of internal combustion engine vehicles. Additionally, there are issues with various vibrations and noise generated by the motor that can cause discomfort for passengers. Therefore, research is necessary to reduce losses, vibration, and noise of the motor to improve the driving range of electric vehicles. IPMSM with a purchased design can obtain additional reluctance torque by utilizing the difference in inductance between the d and q axes. However, due to this reluctance torque, torque ripple occurs larger than other motors. The increase in torque ripple also increases noise and vibration. Since the reluctance torque, which is the main cause of torque ripple, is determined by the shape of the motor components, torque ripple can be reduced through shape optimization. In this paper, a rotor shape for reducing torque ripple and core loss that causes vibration, noise, and efficiency to decrease of IPMSM for electric vehicles was proposed. Optimization design was carried out by changing the shape of the q-axis path of the rotor to reduce the difference in inductance of the d and q-axis of the rotor. Finally, in order to verify the validity of the design variables derived through the optimal design, the original model and the improved model were compared through the FEM. Compared to the original model, the improved model's torque verifying ripple was reduced by about 62% and core loss was reduced by about 29%, the superiority of the improved model.

  • In MANET(Mobile Ad-Hoc Network), providing security to routing has been a significant issue recently. Existing studies, however, focused on either of secure routing or packet itself where malicious operations occur. In this paper, we propose SRPPnT(A Secure Routing Protocol in MANET based on Malicious Pattern of Node and Trust Level) that consider both malicious behavior on packet and secure routing. SRPPnT is identify the node where malicious activities occur for a specific time to compose trust levels for each node, and then to set up a routing path according to the trust level obtained. Therefore, SRPPnT is able to make efficient countermeasures against malicious operations. SRPPnT is based on AODV(Ad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing). The proposed SRPPnT, from results of the NS-2 network simulation. shows a more prompt and accurate finding of malicious nodes than previous protocols did, under the condition of decreased load of networks and route more securely.

  • As urban traffic congestion and environmental pollution are becoming significant issues in major cities, Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is gaining attention as an efficient solution. In this study, we conducted a geographic information system (GIS)-based spatial analysis and clustering algorithm considering the actual data of the terrain and infrastructure in the Busan area, through which we were able to select the location of vertiports and corridors (flight routes) for the UAM operation. Based on the Gimhae International Airport, which is expected to be the center of the UAM infrastructure system in the Busan region, we judged that three vertiport locations in the target area were suitable. Subsequently, we used the A* (A-star) algorithm considering Ground Risk to select a flight path that minimized both risk and distance. Through this, we confirmed a risk reduction effect of 80.168% compared to the minimum distance route.

  • Currently, various countries are enhancing accessibility by providing bicycle rental services for convenient usage within daily life. This paper introduces the Nubija public bicycle service in Changwon, South Korea, aiming to address the imbalance between demand and supply of Nubija bicycles. We propose a Highest Priority Reallocation Scheme to prevent this disparity. Comparing this scheme with others that randomly visit terminals for redistribution and those that prioritize terminals closest to current locations, we illustrate its superior efficiency. Our proposed Highest Priority Reallocation Scheme prioritizes terminals with the highest demand and shortest distances nearby. Through experiments, our proposed scheme demonstrates superior performance, with the lowest average of 817.44km distance and an average of 6437.45 times, i.e., 88.14% successful rental occurrences. This highlights its superiority over the other two algorithms.

  • This paper demonstrates the digital communication in air using the parametric array. The stepped-plate transducer which is suitable for high-power and high-efficient radiation is used to generate the difference frequency wave with the parametric array. The primary frequencies are selected to 83 kHz and 122 kHz and the resulting difference frequency wave at the frequency of 39 kHz is used for the communication. The modulation method is selected to On-Off Keying method. The waveform and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is measured and analyzed to see the characteristics of the digital communication using the parametric array. The proper distance for the communication using parametric array is about 3 m. The measured beam width of the 3dB SNR reduction was $14^{\circ}$. The possibility of the communication in air using the parametric array is confirmed and the high directional characteristic of the communication using the parametric array is expected to have the advantages for the multi path and the security problems.

  • Controlling vibrations and noise in steel box girders is important for reducing noise pollution and avoiding discomfort to residents of dwellings along bridges. The fundamental approach to solving this problem involves first identifying the main path of transmission of the vibration energy and then cutting it off by using targeted measures. However, this requires an investigation of the characteristics of flow of vibration energy in the steel box girder, whereas most studies in the area have focused on analyzing its single-point frequency response and overall vibrations. To solve this problem, this study examines the transmission of vibrations through the segments of a steel box girder when it is subjected to harmonic loads through structural intensity analysis based on standard finite element software and a post-processing code created by the authors. We identified several frequencies that dominated the vibrations of the steel box girder as well as the factors that influenced their emergence. We also assessed the contributions of a variety of vibrational waves to power flow, and the results showed that bending waves were dominant in the top plate and in-plane waves in the vertical plate of the girder. Finally, we analyzed the effects of commonly used stiffened structures and steel-concrete composite structures on the flow of vibration energy in the girder, and verified their positive impacts on energy regionalization. In addition to providing an efficient tool for the relevant analyses, the work here informs research on optimizing steel box girders to reduce vibrations and noise in them.

  • This paper proposes a plan to improve the reception radio environment of the mobile terminal and maintain a constant reception electric field by using small cells in a small closed environment. In order to configure an efficient communication infrastructure for small cells, both ends of wireless transmission and reception of an Ethernet-based wireless video recording system are connected using an L2 switch. The small cell connected to the receiving side L2 switch shares the wireless network section of the wireless video recording system and connects to the transmitting side L2 switch. After that, when it is normally linked to FMS, a management system for small cells, through the Internet network, the output of small cells is checked. In order to verify the results, a proposed network is formed on the elevator inside the building with a poor radio wave environment, and the radio wave environment is measured before and after the small cell application in the section where the elevator operates. As a result, the main parameters of the radio wave environment in all sections of the elevator are improved, as well as a constant receiving electric field strength within the moving elevator.
