Optimized BMP plans for controlling water quality using the Pareto trade-off surface curve in upper basin of Namgang Dam is proposed. The proposed alternatives consist of BMP installation scenarios in which the reduction efficiency of non-point pollutants is maximized in a given budget. The multi-objective optimization process for determining the optimal alternatives was performed without direct implementation of a watershed model such as SWAT analysis, thereby reducing the time taken. The shortening of the calculation time further enhances the applicability of the multi-objective optimization technique in preparing regional water quality management alternatives. In this study, different types of BMP are applied depending on the land use conditions. Fertilizer input control and vegetative filter strip are considered as alternatives to applying BMP to the field but only control of fertilizer input can be applied to rice paddies. Fertilizer input control and vegetative filter strip can be installed separately or simultaneously in a hydrologic response unit. Finally, 175 BMP application alternatives were developed for the water quality management of the upper river basin of Namgang dam. The proposed application alternative can be displayed on the map, which has the advantage of clearly defining the BMP installation location.

This paper introduces the semantic modeling technology for autonomous control of manufacturing facilities and status definition algorithm. With the development of digital twin technology and various ICT technologies of the smart factory, a new production management model is being built in the manufacturing industry. Based on the advanced smart manufacturing technology, the status determination algorithm was presented as a methodology to quickly identify and respond to problems with autonomous control and facilities in the factory. But the existing status determination algorithm informs the user or administrator of error information through the grid map and is presented as a model for coping with it. However, the advancement and direction of smart manufacturing technology is diversifying into flexible production and production tailored to consumer needs. Accordingly, in this paper, a technology that can design and build a factory using a semantic-based Linked List data structure and provide only necessary information to users or managers through graph-based information is introduced to improve management efficiency. This methodology can be used as a structure suitable for flexible production and small-volume production of various types.

Due to various project delivery methods and the complexity of construction projects in the construction industry, developing the framework of construction management for critical, highly complex projects in the construction industry has become problematic. Currently, a set of construction manuals play a pivotal role in planning and managing construction projects as subcontractors try to complete their scope of work according to the instructions of a general contractor. It is challenging for general contractors to write a construction management procedure manual to cover various types of project delivery methods and construction projects. In construction, the construction procedure manuals describe specific actions to be taken through the project. In reality a few contactors own such manuals and their construction schedules include more construction operation activities. Thus, it is hard to estimate the workload and productivity of construction managers because the manual and the schedule do not present the amount of management efforts required to complete a project. This paper proposes a framework to present construction management tasks according to project delivery methods which can be applied to various construction projects. Actions for management tasks were mapped and were integrated with construction activities throughout the project life cycle. The framework can then be used to give specific instructions to project participants, collect management actions, and replicate management actions throughout the project life cycle. The framework can also be can used to visualize complete construction project to analyze and manage construction management activities in each phase of a project in order to enhance productivity and efficiency. The studies of existing construction manuals were carried out to identify construction managers' responsibilities. An artificial intelligence program, CLIPS (C-Language Integrated Production System) was used to search for appropriate actions for impending tasks from a set of predefined actions to be performed for a given situation. The framework would significantly help construction managers to understand interrelations among management tasks or actions within a project. Furthermore, the framework can be embedded into Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Facility Management Systems (FMS) so that designers and constructors would execute constructability review before construction begins.

The data management and the evaluation of defects in the bridge are generally conducted based on inspection and diagnosis data, including the exterior damage map and defect quantity table prepared by periodic inspection. Since most of these data are written in 2D-based documents and are difficult to digitize in a standardized manner, it is challenging to utilize them beyond the defined functionality. This study proposed methods to efficiently build a BIM (Building Information Modeling)-based bridge damage model from raw data of inspection report and to manage and utilize the damage information linking to bridge model through the spread sheet data generated by COBie (Construction Operations Building Information Exchange). In addition, a method to conduct the condition assessment of defects in bridge was proposed based on an automatic evaluation process using digitized bridge member and damage information. The proposed methods were tested using superstructure of PSC-I girder concrete bridge, and the efficiency and effectiveness of the methods were verified.
Crop classification is very important for estimating crop yield and figuring out accurate cultivation area. The purpose of this study is to classify crops harvested in fall in Idam-ri, Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do by using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) images and support vector machine (SVM) model. The study proceeded in the order of image acquisition, variable extraction, model building, and evaluation. First, RGB and multispectral image were acquired on September 13, 2021. Independent variables which were applied to Farm-Map, consisted gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM)-based texture characteristics by using RGB images, and multispectral reflectance data. The crop classification model was built using texture characteristics and reflectance data, and finally, accuracy evaluation was performed using the error matrix. As a result of the study, the classification model consisted of four types to compare the classification accuracy according to the combination of independent variables. The result of four types of model analysis, recursive feature elimination (RFE) model showed the highest accuracy with an overall accuracy (OA) of 88.64%, Kappa coefficient of 0.84. UAV-based RGB and multispectral images effectively classified cabbage, rice and soybean when the SVM model was applied. The results of this study provided capacity usefully in classifying crops using single-period images. These technologies are expected to improve the accuracy and efficiency of crop cultivation area surveys by supplementing additional data learning, and to provide basic data for estimating crop yields.

In the case of earthenware cultural heritages that are found in the form of fragments, the major task is quick and precise restoration. The existing method, which follows the rule of trial and error, is not only greatly time consuming but also lacked precision. If this job could be done by three dimensional scanning, matching up pieces could be done with remarkable efficiency. In this study, the original earthenware was modeled through three-dimensional pattern scanning and photogrammetry, and each of the fragments were scanned and modeled. In order to obtain images from the photogrammetry, we calibrated and used a Canon EOS 1DS real size camera. We analyzed the relationship among the sections of the formed model, efficiently compounded them, and analyzed the errors through residual and color error map. Also, we built a web-based three-dimensional simulation environment centering around the users, for the virtual museum.
Crop classification plays a vitalrole in monitoring agricultural landscapes and enhancing food production. In this study, we explore the effectiveness of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models for crop classification, focusing on distinguishing between apple and rice crops. The aim wasto overcome the challenges associatedwith finding phenology-based classification thresholds by utilizing LSTM to capture the entire Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI)trend. Our methodology involvestraining the LSTM model using a reference site and applying it to three separate three test sites. Firstly, we generated 25 NDVI imagesfrom the Sentinel-2A data. Aftersegmenting study areas, we calculated the mean NDVI values for each segment. For the reference area, employed a training approach utilizing the NDVI trend line. This trend line served as the basis for training our crop classification model. Following the training phase, we applied the trained model to three separate test sites. The results demonstrated a high overall accuracy of 0.92 and a kappa coefficient of 0.85 for the reference site. The overall accuracies for the test sites were also favorable, ranging from 0.88 to 0.92, indicating successful classification outcomes. We also found that certain phenological metrics can be less effective in crop classification therefore limitations of relying solely on phenological map thresholds and emphasizes the challenges in detecting phenology in real-time, particularly in the early stages of crops. Our study demonstrates the potential of LSTM models in crop classification tasks, showcasing their ability to capture temporal dependencies and analyze timeseriesremote sensing data. While limitations exist in capturing specific phenological events, the integration of alternative approaches holds promise for enhancing classification accuracy. By leveraging advanced techniques and considering the specific challenges of agricultural landscapes, we can continue to refine crop classification models and support agricultural management practices.

Using 3D asphalt pavement surface data, a deep and multiscale network named CrackNet-M is proposed in this paper for pixel-level crack detection for improvements in both accuracy and robustness. The CrackNet-M consists of four function-specific architectural modules: a central branch net (CBN), a crack map enhancement (CME) module, three pooling feature pyramids (PFP), and an output layer. The CBN maintains crack boundaries using no pooling reductions throughout all convolutional layers. The CME applies a pooling layer to enhance potential thin cracks for better continuity, consuming no data loss and attenuation when working jointly with CBN. The PFP modules implement direct down-sampling and pyramidal up-sampling with multiscale contexts specifically for the detection of thick cracks and exclusion of non-crack patterns. Finally, the output layer is optimized with a skip layer supervision technique proposed to further improve the network performance. Compared with traditional supervisions, the skip layer supervision brings about not only significant performance gains with respect to both accuracy and robustness but a faster convergence rate. CrackNet-M was trained on a total of 2,500 pixel-wise annotated 3D pavement images and finely scaled with another 200 images with full considerations on accuracy and efficiency. CrackNet-M can potentially achieve crack detection in real-time with a processing speed of 40 ms/image. The experimental results on 500 testing images demonstrate that CrackNet-M can effectively detect both thick and thin cracks from various pavement surfaces with a high level of Precision (94.28%), Recall (93.89%), and F-measure (94.04%). In addition, the proposed CrackNet-M compares favorably to other well-developed networks with respect to the detection of thin cracks as well as the removal of shoulder drop-offs.

In the first part of this study, five homogeneous regions in view of topographical and geographically homogeneous aspects except Jeju and Ulreung islands in Korea were accomplished by K-means clustering method. A total of 57 rain gauges were used for the regional frequency analysis with minimum rainfall series for the consecutive durations. Generalized Extreme Value distribution was confirmed as an optimal one among applied distributions. Drought rainfalls following the return periods were estimated by at-site and regional frequency analysis using L-moments method. It was confirmed that the design drought rainfalls estimated by the regional frequency analysis were shown to be more appropriate than those by the at-site frequency analysis. In the second part of this study, LH-moment ratio diagram and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test on the Gumbel (GUM), Generalized Extreme Value (GEV), Generalized Logistic (GLO) and Generalized Pareto (GPA) distributions were accomplished to get optimal probability distribution. Design drought rainfalls were estimated by both at-site and regional frequency analysis using LH-moments and GEV distribution, which was confirmed as an optimal one among applied distributions. Design rainfalls were estimated by at-site and regional frequency analysis using LH-moments, the observed and simulated data resulted from Monte Carlotechniques. Design drought rainfalls derived by regional frequency analysis using L1, L2, L3 and L4-moments (LH-moments) method have shown higher reliability than those of at-site frequency analysis in view of RRMSE (Relative Root-Mean-Square Error), RBIAS (Relative Bias) and RR (Relative Reduction) for the estimated design drought rainfalls. Relative efficiency were calculated for the judgment of relative merits and demerits for the design drought rainfalls derived by regional frequency analysis using L-moments and L1, L2, L3 and L4-moments applied in the first report and second report of this study, respectively. Consequently, design drought rainfalls derived by regional frequency analysis using L-moments were shown as more reliable than those using LH-moments. Finally, design drought rainfalls for the classified five homogeneous regions following the various consecutive durations were derived by regional frequency analysis using L-moments, which was confirmed as a more reliable method through this study. Maps for the design drought rainfalls for the classified five homogeneous regions following the various consecutive durations were accomplished by the method of inverse distance weight and Arc-View, which is one of GIS techniques.
